    Just did the exact same thing and got the same result! It pays to be kind! Thank you for sharing your experience. I wouldn’t have gotten my courtesy repair had I not seen this.

    Exact same thing happened to my CX (around 800 hours)was also told the panel was dead. Opened it up, reseated all the ribbon cables, made sure all the board screws were tight (some weren’t) and now works better than ever. The screws can apparently affect the earthing so may have been that. Your panel was probably fine.

      Ah yes bc professional repair shops definitely wouldn't think to give that a try.

    Good to hear it worked for you and thaks for sharing. It still doesnt make LG better. Replacement parts to be more expensive than whole item in time of purchase is absolutelly outrageous. This produce huge amount of e-waste. Im not fan of regulations but having globally "law for repair" which will limit cost of parts to their percentage and also take into account age is really what we need.

    They gave you another 2-1/2 years of TV life. Lol
    Idk what to think about LG as a brand, I had a LG 3D TV whose tuner board stopped working and the technician couldn't repair it after multiple trips out so ended up getting a refund on my purchase but I had a store warranty. But I think this quality is why LG is cheaper than other brands.

    i contacted them and they said i couldnt talk to anyone other than the manager and it would cost 900 pounds to repair, idk what to do

    Not LG Saudi Arabia tho, even with warranty the said no, Hate those greedy bastards. it fell yes, but your first response shouldn't be " you should just buy a new TV " you could give me a quota and help me in fixing it.

    TLDR - Call them up, be polite, be a little persistent and you MIGHT get EXTREMELY lucky.

    UHD LEDs last…do not buy the QLED’s, my one whent in 2yrs. They are known for dieting like this. My tv was not LG QLED, but I do have another tv which is UHD LED and that lasts a long time

      Good to know! I almost bought a Samsung QLED. I was looking at them for a long time and almost pulled the trigger on a purchase, but I got super irritated with their marketing and their changes in their specs between their different series. I was looking for true HDR10, not just the contrast boost effect to simulate it. It used to be on the earlier model cheaper series, but then they recently made it exclusive to the more expensive series panels. I ended up just going crazy with all the marketing jargon and went to oled to guarantee the performance I wanted, albeit short-lived. Hope this new panel lasts!

      I appreciate the feedback. I try to keep them short while not compromising important info. I wanted to be detailed so that I can give you the best shot at having the same success I did. If you look at it this way, if this info saves you from forking over $2,500+ for a new TV, then the 11 minutes of this video is equivalent to a cost savings to you of over $225 per minute you watch, or about $3.75 per second. It may be long by most youtube video expectations, but 11 minutes for potentially a $2,500 savings is one heck of a payoff. I wish you luck on your repair efforts! 👊

      Was your panel cracked or what exactly happened to it?

      It wasn't cracked. It just spontaneously died. They checked for hairline cracks before they did any work to rule out impact damage. I'm sure plenty of people say that it "just died" when in reality they probably whacked it with a remote or a kids' toy or something. Luckily that wasn't the case for me. Apparently, OLED's have a reputation for the power board dying after only 2-4 years also. Something I didn't know when I bought the thing. 😬

    My 77 lg g2 is 15 months old and has vertical lines everywhere and shuts off randomly, website says only 1 year warranty. LG isnt willing to fix it, points me to local repair shop. Am stuck with a $3500 paperweight, Never buying LG again

      Exactly the same thing with my 65" G2. Vertical white bands in a couple places at varying intensity. Sometimes they disappear for a while.
      LG says 5 year warranty only covers burn-in (which is pretty silly). But I see a ton of people who claim they got free panel replacements after the 1 year mark for other malfunctions. I don't get it. Do I have to do a special dance or say a magic word?

    DO NOT BUY LG PRODUCTS
    DO NOT BUY ANY LG PRODUT EVER PERIOD. I bought an LG OLED 55 CX PUA in November,2020 thinking that it would last me years to come. Lo and behold come September ,2024 (not even 4 years)my TV would not even start. LG suggested I contact an authorize service technician to see if the motherboard was OK and that could be fixed for about $400-$600. But after my TV diagnosis it came out that my whole OLED TV panel was bad and needed a new one to repair that costs $2000.He even admitted that this is a premium TV and should have lasted at least 10 good years without trouble. The components the LG TV are no good at all. Now I bought this TV in Nov 2020 for a little over $2000.LG is telling me the largest piece which is about $2000 which in fact is more than the retail for a whole new TV, its just cheaper to buy a whole new TV .Now the dumb part is LG suggesting me to get an out of warranty service done that would cost over $1000 to get it all repaired with an additional 90 days warranty. LOOK LG, I spend over $ 2000 on a brand new TV, is it a reasonable expectation to spend approximately that much of money only to have it GO BAD after 2-3 years(. In this case after 90 days) and have them repaired for additional $1000 more.IS THIS THE LEVEL OF QUALITY YOU ARE AIMING FOR WHEN YOU GUYS MAKE THESE SO CALLED PREMIUM OLED TV'S ? (LG= LIFE's NO GOOD)
