I don't even listen to rap but I'm from South Carolina and you're 100 percent right. This is old to us southerners. However, you have to understand that what they play where we are from is not played up north. I live up north now and never hear what I heard as constant radio music back home. The people from up here have no idea about this...it's new to them. People still are amazed by project pat's old stuff which I like...and they think the beats are revolutionary. smh.

if people enjoy it doesn't matter who knew it first or where it came from you should be happy a genre you like is becoming popular. Now if it becomes commercialised like dubstep did and ruined than yeah i get where your coming from.
