Thank you for watching
I think this is your best interview to date. Not so much for the job description, but for the general skills needed and the discussion of what it means to be disconnected in both good and bad ways. A well balanced discussion with Dani.
Lucy, I was on Valiant Lady in October and asked one of the women in the shops if you were on board. She said that you had gotten off a couple weeks prior, and then talked about how VV had suggested that she and other new crew watch your videos in preparation for the job and how much help they had been. Way to go! It looks like you are training crew before they board!
Worst ever shore excursion experience (on Princess!) was when the tour operator lied to the shore excursion people about why the bus was late getting back to the ship. The problem was largely the fault of the tour guide, but they blamed "traffic." That was the only time I've complained about an excursion....not about getting back late, but about what happened on the excursion.
Such a wonderful interview. I would trust Dani to help us reserve our shore excursions. She is sweet and really seems to enjoy her job. Excellent video!!!
Wow Dani is so lovely. She honestly cares that the sailors get the best experience. Great interview Lucy.
Watching your channel has made me wish I had known about this "world" when I was in my 20s. I think I would have loved working on a ship!
There’s no age limit! My co worker was well into her 50s💗
Dani has a wonderful smile and such a friendly persona.
I really like the interviews you do. You ask questions and allow the interviewee to answer. There is such a polite and friendly manner of these interviews. This is how interviews should be conducted. 👍 Great job.
Dani is the best shorex staff and amazing person, awesome interview girls!
so nice to see someone from my country here talking about the exact job i want at the exact company i want to work haha
you are such a joy and so helpful for both crew and sailors Thanks!
Loved this interview! Dani is so sweet and impressionable. I worked with a Brazilian and he was such a nice guy. It’s got to be so great to work with so many people from all around the world.
This interview said the truth, to be working on a cruise ship is not just to make money and work so hard is also to meet new people, culture, food, and real friends in the time onboard ... and of course to get amazing experiences and great memories !!!
its true , we fell disconected from all the issues that happens offshore and then we come back home and we felt lost .. but the feeling of knowing new places and cultures ..its rewarding
I like such kinds of videos, keep them coming.
Viva o Brasil!!!! Every time I see other brazilians doing what they love, there's a contagious feeling I can't explain.
Brazil is the country of the future because of how spiritual we are and most of us don't know that.
After watching this video I just feel like I wanna hava a coffee with you both ☕💕
Thank you Lucy for your videos. You are not brazilian but you fit in the description ahahah
Hope to work with you guys soon!
I will be boarding in a couple of weeks on valiant and though i think you will not be aboard (as these interviews were done a couple of months ago) I really wanted to thank you for helping me understand what it means to be crew and as a smart sailor. Your tips on embarkation are brilliant. I look forward to meeting Dani as soon as i am aboard. Sailed last Dec with Scarlet., it was your last week on scarlet and it was an amazing experience.
Wonderful interview !!!
Thank you, your interviews are very interesting; thanks for putting them out!!
Such a great interview. You both are wonderful representatives for your careers & the cruise line. You both clearly love what you do; that's the secret to much of life. Cheers
Boa Dani, tava esperando a entrevista com algum brasileiro
Sabia que era brasileira, tava pescando pelo sotaque
Very enjoyable interview. Interesting to hear from shore excursions team. My experience is that booking through ship is very expensive. Need to do research about the ports and where ship docks. Never book through ship in Caribbean as so much cheaper to get local taxi and you do same things for approx. quarter of the price.
Get to see you got a shore execuerions team to interview
Another great interview and very informative
25:52 you made a friend. This is so cool.
I am looking forward to my cruise on 'Valiant Lady' next month. Maybe if you are back on that ship by then I will say hi. If not thanks for all these great videos.
Great video. Thanks Lucy!!
Excellent, so she' the one to bribe if we want to go to extra special places... 😎😎😎
Hi such an informative interview. I love how you are all enjoying your jobs. Can you do an interview with a restaurant attendant please.
I've never been on a cruise but I love your videos! #cruisingascrew
Love your videos. Thanks.. Who are the crewmembers who liaise during the excursions? I know on a RC cruise in early 2000's there was always an RC crewmember on our tour bus. I seem to recall most said they were entertainers who didn't have to work until the evening.
Greetings from SW Ontario Canada🍁. This is a fantastic🤗 interview. I have two questions. 1. Has any Sailor and/or Crew Member left the ship at a port (ie excursion/shopping etc.) and not return to the Ship🛳?
If you're unable to contact them (ie Cell phone🖥 etc.)is this reported to the Authorities.(Ie hurt somewhere, deflecting into another Country etc.)
2. Why is it that your passport isn't "stamp" when you get off the ship in a new Country?(ie leave USA and visit Mexico)
Thanks.
Im on my improving english so i love to watch this video because it contains two different accents are british & american. I love it
i hope i could have perfect english and get work on cruse ship 😍
She is great!
Watching this AMAZING interview I got so so upset with myself for denying VV contract and accepting DCL ones… now I’ve done one contract, ruined my experience and still thinking about it 😢
What department are you on?
What department are you on?
@@cande8607 I was working as Guest Services Host
omg!!! i just landed a job as shore excursion staff on celebrity cruises and my name is also Dany 😄😄
Tell me about the interview .what questions they ask and what is the process
How was it?
For some reason this video showed up on youtube. Currently, I am looking forward to finally embark as Shore Excursion Staff 🙏🚢
Did you embark?
I wonder if Dani has ever met Don from the channel Don's Family Vacations? At the end of his videos he has a montage of footage of himself with various crew and passengers on cruise ships and one person looks suspiciously like her.....
Nice Interview. I think, we do that what Not everybody on Land is doing. 😉
People skills, flexible, smile, cultural person, explore,
Love the interview!! Im going to have an interview for this position but i can’t choose between cruise staff/youth staff/Shorex
if you please have chance to interview them please? ❤️🙏 Thank you so much!!!
Hi Lucy, this video was amazing and helpful. I love to watch informative content and you coming up with this idea did just that! Amazing work! I have done my stcw training and my ENG1 medical just last week and am aiming to work onboard. I absolutely love and enjoy exploring new scenic places and engaging with people of different countries and learning new things really drives me. And that is exactly what I want to do and I'm unsure of what positions exist that will let me do exactly that. And in the excursions team about how much time off does a person get between work? I am currently altering my CV and for someone who is oh so new to a cruise world. I find myself lost. Because I don't know what kind of job will be more suitable for me. You may ask Dani as well. I would appreciate both of your insights and guidance. Lots of love from Liverpool ❤️
I don't think this position leaves you too much time off
thank you for great information.
i have one question. i study to get travel service supervisor and dose it work when applying for the position? or are at least a few years work experiences required?
im from Japan and sorry for my poor English
awesome..
Well Done
Experience is more important than material things. You don't need every trend that comes out. Save your money for your future, too. Invest with expertise.
ah the most interesting topics aren't covered! :( does she share a cabin or shore ex have single cabins too? and what's the salary approx, if possible, please?
Hello Lucy, would you interview the cruise nurse please 🙏🏻
I would like to know about how much is the salary and what is an average of the commissions .thank youuu
Hello beautiful ladies!I am now getting a position on Shore Excursios in another Cruise line and I am very happy to be honest. That being said, I always think is important to talk to people who are doing the same in other cruiselines and I would live to have Dani Instagram is is possible. I am also Brazilian, would be a pleasure to check with her certain different things might have between our both companies. Thanks😁😁
Hey
Have you got on thr ship? How do you like the job?
One question, Does Virgin Voyages have excursions in Spanish?
Please advise whom to send resume to be part of shorething staff. 5 years experience in the shore excursions department with different cruise lines
What was her job title as a dive instructor on Oasis of the seas?
Does Virgin Voyages have excursions in Spanish?
Where can you apply for the Shore Excursions position because I can't really find it on the actual site?
Hi luci i am a sous chef for a 6 star hotel. How can i apply for virgin voyages. Could u tell me a way?
Guys can I ask you how to apply for that kind of job, is it directly through company or agencies?
Many thanks! X
How many hours do you work per day?

@@meea98 whereee come onn, eeven at seaday?
I worked on RCI too as a shorex, on the Oasis and the Majesty. How can I apply to become a Shorex on Virgin please? I haven't seen any ad on LinkedIn nor on the official website. Thank you for your help. Céline
Hi Céline, how many languages one should speak (beside english) to be hired as shoreex? No one can help me better than you (as you worked as a shoreex) Please help me out, thanks
hi sorry i didnt see your reply until now. if you only speak english you will be assigned to english speaking destinations no worries. but if you speak several languages then they put you in europe@@किमजोंगउन-ह4य
Halo
🇧🇷
It's like living in a bubble.
That's true
First impression is like...no, we do not organize - tour operators do; no, - we do not do it, - guests can get info online - sorry but seems like 3 stars service, no "lets deliver the WOW", Aspire to make a difference attitude - just a job 9 to 5. She did not even mention on debark morning possible refunds, disputes...nope - they juuuuuuuuuuuust relax...for Virgin sounds like 3 stars apprach
Did you actually listen to the whole interview? Dani is enthusiastic, very hard working and loves her job. I see no slack 3 star attitude and I'd trust her 100% to care for and do her best for sailors! Also refunds and other admin were mentioned.
There should be NO excursions before 10:00 AM.
I am on vacation and do not want to have to get up early.
Ships just aren't docked for that long and even starting at 9:00 you are only going to have a very short visit. Best to see excursions as a bonus to your holiday rather than the holiday itself
@@jons9721 Most ships leave ports around 5:00 PM, which allows 7 hours for excursions. Most excursions last 2 to 4 hours. No probemo.
@@cruisecrazy7066 That's what I mean you never get to see that much of the surrounding region but on a cruise ship, you do get to see a lot of different places briefly. Many of the places you dock at you could easily spend a week at as a separate holiday
