Years ago I was homeless for a while. I had one bag for clothes and one for food. Mostly I ate canned tuna with a flour tortilla and some squirt cheese. Eventually I found the vacuum pack flat packs of tuna. Looks good and tastes good to me, but the stray cat that decided I should share my tuna with him turned his nose up at the flat packs of fish of any kind, but about ate my arm off to get to the oily canned stuff. The oily canned stuff became my go to. I guess he didn't cotton too much to radiated foods. 6 years on the road and the oily canned tuna became my main meal. BTW, thanks for the videos. I enjoy them and I know you work a lot harder at finding fish than you show in your vids. I am sure we all appreciate the hard work and great content. Thanks again.

well this is a late comment but I gotta say that your videos are just pleasurable to watch, always some excellent scenery, realistic fishing adventure, I like your boat....all business, no frills and most of all you have the gift of producing great videos, even a poetic side to you, it brightens the day to see you fishing and since I did fish at one time I can tell you do have some smarts about where, when and how to catch those cats.

We try to guess the weight of the fish by the bend in the green rods. If you see the bend between the second and third eye above the forward grip, the fish is probably below 20 pounds. If the bend begins between the first and second eyes, it is probably in the 20 to 40 pound range. If the bend is between the forward grip and the first eye, you will probably need a bigger boat. LOL!!

A brilliant video Dave, your seamanship skills while attaching the boat in trouble was second to none , and towing it to safety was no mean fete, every boat that has lost power needs the help of a fellow mariner, well done Dave. The fishing was excellent you have not lost your skill at catching dinks, I did notice big fish as well. You and that Tuna snack you must put it safe before touching the rod, suggestion Dave not a criticism could you get hand sanitizer and keep it in the boat,
I did not know that, thank you, disposable gloves come to mind, however I would not try to suggest that to Dave in my ignorance I was trying alleviate him from rinsing his hands in water that is not altogether clean.
A typical water tow is pretty expensive. It is a code of ethics on the water. Can't believe you fish with so many poles..lol. Pretty sharp looking Ford, May need to upgrade sunglasses..lol Enjoy the channel and the content. Great work.

I just started the video, but your good deed is worth a mention. I'm a cheese lover too. I remember as a youngster, we used to trout fish with velveeta cheese.
The closest I have been fishing to you was nearby Cades Cove and I just stared at the trout and did not catch anything. This was in 1988 when my parents took us kids to Disney World that summer. Got to see Captain Eo at Disney World which was a childhood dream.

Dave, what is the psychology of fish after being hooked? Are they scared, or just angry when being pulled up? Does the entrance into an unknown world play into their subconscious and perhaps create a form of ptsd? The handling of the fish? In a suspended world and being pulled to where gravity puts weight on their bodies especially the belly area, does this cause lasting memories to them? Things to ponder.
C. Watts- does the fish have memories of being chased by Gar, or bass, as a small recently hatched fry, and does it ever bother them. Does it weigh on their subconscious minds the thousands of skipjack, gizzard shad, bream, and many other fish they have mauled, killed, and consumed. Do they have PTSD from the wars with larger fish as they protected their eggs, or do they live depressed because of their addiction to destroying the beds of their own friends and family….. just some things to ponder!
Catfish and fish in general aren't pansies like most humans they take life in stride and just return to their normal routine. Maybe humans should learn from fish!

if you get hand sanitizer on your bait, the fish won't eat it.
