Here my story of being a fursuit handler. I was a Handler for a very energetic bunny named Indie, Indie would run all around the con. Indie never stopped running, so I would always run behind Indie and give him water and tell him he needed to slow down. Indie never listened. I got heaps of videos on my phone of Indie. Indie and I went into the playground at our furry con. Indie then proceeded to climb all over the climbing set as fast as he could. It was hilarious. Then I started to notice that Indie was getting tired and started to breathe Heavily, so I knew I had to take Indie back to our hotel room. Thankfully after 2 hours of rest and lots of water Indie was back to being himself again. Indie was an amazing bunny and I love to be his Handler.

I remember fursuiting for Halloween. I couldn't see shit XD all I could see was the street lights. And a black abyss.
I crushed my foot on a broken sidewalk (because reading PA needs to be nuked) and I was cussing so hard I scared my handler and maybe a few others near me XD
I met a few other furries tho XD
My friend really wants to cosplay and make fursuits so I'm planning and have told them I could be their handler (I haven't before) and I am currently watching handler videos to find out what I can do to help my friend and maybe help others. So I'm thanking you for this video as I really wanna make sure they are confortable due to her Anxiety.

I remembered making a costume for Halloween that was like a fursuit back in 2015 and I along with my brother went out to trick or treat. I definitely agree with you there with vision being horrendous and you cannot see squat. I had instances where I bumped into my bro several times, I even bumped into a pole and a car once on that night. And even though I wore the costume again on 2016, I still haven't gotten used to its vision and the same ensued. But really it was generally my fault since I made the eye sockets far to small and it was my first time making mascot heads. Luckily this year I'm gonna make a fursuit of my main sona but as a animatronic, and I know that seeing out of him won't be that hard since his eyes are generally hollow and black.
Great video, Stormi. I was thinking about getting a fursuit when I get enough money, and I'll take this video into consideration whenever I suit.

Being a handler sounds like a good gig. If I ever get a friend who fursuits I might try it out.
Very helpful tips. When I was a mascot performer there have been times where my spotter would ditch me for all kinds of things including smoking a cigarette and forgetting to come back for me despite management telling them to stay with me eventually I got tired of relying on a spotter where I was mascotting. So I pretty much taught myself how to move in suit without one I think I only had one accident where I tripped twice over some kids the eyes were really foggy. I had a hard time reaching the office to get water but I managed to get in. One kid even tried to follow me and the manager had to block him from going any further because I had my head off cooling down after at least 30 minutes of suiting. Of course once I get a fursuit I'll get a spotter for sure. I did have a knife pulled on me one time while I was in mascot suit

My mom is my fursuit handler. She's pretty good at it, but there's a lot of things that are common sense to furries that she doesn't quite understand. For example, she loves to take pictures of random people whenever we go somewhere special, and having a bunch of people in fluffy animal costumes didn't help that. However, when I caught her taking some photos, I quickly told her that she wasn't supposed to do that without permission from the fursuiter/handler. She's trying her best, but everyone makes mistakes sometimes

I know this is a rather late comment but thank you for your advice! I am going to my first con at Furlandia. My fursuit should be done by then! I usually have really good balance and awareness, but I am glad that my sister is going to go with me to help out!

MY HANDER ABANDONED ME! I was going to surprise my scout group by showing up in suit and playing around. I asked a friend to be my handler and she said yes but when I showed up my friend went on a road trip leaving me with the rest of the scouts who were younger then me. I thought it would be fine as I knew most of the girls there and I was focusing on entertaining them anyway. It was fine until after the scout meeting when I was violently bombarded by little girls trying to decapitate me, pull my tail, boop my nose(because it had a squeaker) and touch my eyes. Because I knew the girls and they knew me I broke character and told them no. Later out of suit I talked with the girl who was bugging me most and how rude and scary it is to be attacked in such a way. Moral of the story is even though you know everyone you still need a handler. (Sorry it’s so long ;~;)

Im starting to think about getting a fur suit so this helps a lot.
I could do both. if me and two other friends go to a con then one of us would be a handler and swap places given that we all have at least partial suits

As a diabetic I have a feeling I would need to be a lot more aware of my state of health while in fursuit. I don't have one, but I'm sure there are fursuiters out there somewhere who are diabetic. It'd be neat to hear how they handle things, considering how much exercise there would be.

Another thing is you should get a handler that is at the very least interested in the fandom. My sister lost interest and forgot to handle me so I had to waddle around in a Digi fullsuit (my feet being to big to walk), vision in one of my eyes completely lost, and holding con books and water bottles. Safe to say, I ran into a l l the people.

Oh boy ive got a dosey of a story about my first con. So i was attending my first con with a firsuit which was a anime con! The con was having a meetup for furs and my friends wanted to attend a pannel. So they said they would take me to the meet and they would go to the pannel. As we were walking to pannel we found allot of furs had been stoped by security or were very lost caulse they didnt have handelers. (anime cons usually have a rule that someone has to acompany you) so we offered to take them with us and we had a mini fursuit parade! Well with all the fuzz we were constantly getting stoped for pictures. My friends got tired of waiting and decided to ditch all of us. So were all standing there about 7-9 of us with no handler so i took off my partial all escorted everyone to the meet.
Fast forward to the evening and im walking with one of said friends. She brings up how can see in my fursuit head. So i decide to let her try it on and walk to the end of the hall. The whole time she was nervouse and told me not to let go of her. We get the end of the hall and i ask her how it was. She said "omg i couldn't see anything" and i said "yea might be scary if i just left you" she got the idea and walked away from me.

I really enjoy being my fiance's handler I have a thing about having something over my face so I can't suit myself but my fiance loves suiting so it's a good match we both get to enjoy the cons in our own ways plus when friends join us who don't have handlers I can look out for them as well

I was a handler for someone that refused to listen to me about drinking water They complained that it was hot and everything I kept trying to get them to drink or got to the lounge but they kept refusing and arguing with me till they finally stopped saying it was hot and said that i was over reacting and that felt completely fine me knowing that thats not good so I forced them to sit and I took there suits head off and almost forced them to drink a bottle of water just for me to turn around and get yelled at by several people and then by the suiter even though I was explaining to them they were about to have a heat stroke they didn't care all I did for them was "ruin the con for everyone"
My mom was my handler. She let children jump on me, walked away with my sister leaving me alone, and told me to go somewhere else so she could get a massage. I still had fun though, but maybe a parent with another sibling isn't the best idea for a handler

I’m going with some of my friends a cons as they are working on their first fur suits! I wana have a little fun too so I was wondering if it’s socially okay as a handler to wear a set of horns and ears and maybe makeup as you help your friends in the big suits. (This will also be my first time at a furry con) Also if anyone has more advice for beginner handlers I’d gladly take it!

What if you have a friend who also has a suit, can you both look out for each other? Be each others handler?
GameSize he says you can't be a handler if in suits you can though go ahead and switch back and forth between who is handling and who is suiting so maybe the first half of the day you suit then switch at lunch lunch or day 1 you suite and day 2 your friend suit's
