Thank you for this. I remember in the day (for me the late 80's) when this was the place to be. As I worked at Farnell's at the time (big employer in the community) we always had our Christmas night out here, If you arrived in any other week before a 11pm it was free, after that you had to pay 50p! If like me you got there before that entry was free (I seem to recall) and if the numbers allowed you could go upstairs (perceived as posher). Though in reality I think upstairs and downstairs both mixed, Happy memories in the days of dancing around with the perceived hot girls and theirs white handbags and stilettos , which was neon blue in the disco lights. And thanks to Wham when it came to closing at 1pm, there was always a kiss on or near the veranda. Good memories - thank you.
My cousin owned the place around 1975 ish. I served basket meals to the punters. Took the Mrs there a few times in the late 80s or thereabouts. Good night but a bit rough n ready
Someone's only gone and set fire to it, I went past it last week and it was all black. Also, I used to live in a crappy bedsit on the ridge road so a bit nostalgic. Thanks for uploading.
Aha maybe this is where we differ i believe that everything is worth visiting and have fun filming even if i don't get into a place, plus i generally only upload the more unique buildings i don't get into
Thank you for this.
