You have quite a few valid points . As a newbie i like the hiboy max pro braking system. Both mechanical braking levers have an electronic sensor that activates the electrical brake system. You squeeze lightly. Ebs Then, when you squeeze harder, the physical brake are activated alongside the electronic braking system
Most of the Criticism you've mentioned seems to be very personal, things that YOU don't like especially in the portability and ease of use category. The target demographic of people who buy electric scooters actually appreciates and wants most of this because it's not as big and complex as a motorbike and smaller than a bicycle. 1:05 - They're designed like bicycles because that's what people who buy these want. I don't want a motorcycle, otherwise I would have bought an electric motorcycle. I want to be able to ride down the bike lanes not sit in traffic. I also want something smaller and more portable than an E bike. 1:33 - Hydraulic brakes add complexity. People who buy scooters like this don't want complex, they want simple and reliable. 1:37 - It does not weigh 80 pounds, more like 60-65. 1:45 - Why not, most motorcycles have buttons around the blinker switch, there are only 4 buttons on the entire scooter, two on either side. It's not that complex. 1:47 - The buttons are good, rubber and waterproof, not sure why you're hating on them there better than a lot of others I have tried. 2:03 - How? Seriously how are you getting your thumb caught in that, it doesn't have enough spring tension to hurt you or cause discomfort. Have you never used thumb throttles before? I usually have my thumb up against that gap on the throttle side to act as a type of cruise control so I actually like it. 2:13 - Yes, regen brakes can substitute for your actual brakes. It's actually the other way around anyway, your mechanical brakes are supplemental to your regen brakes on this scooter. Apollo is known for having the best regen brakes in any electric scooter. I have the Apollo Air and apart from the first time I ever rode my scooter I have never touched my mechanical brakes. It's that good. 2:22 - I don't have a problem with the straight bars but to each their own. Kind of surprised you never mentioned anything about the width of the bars as I've heard people complain about it before. 2:28 - You are not reaching past the buttons if the throttle is underneath them. How do you accidentally hit the button furthest away from the throttle without hitting the turn signal button first? 2:41 - NO, just no, no one has ever or will ever do this, this is probably why you accidentally hit the power button. They are THUMB throttles just install a fucking twist throttle then. 3:00 - Lots of electric scooters have turn signal buttons, if you don't like it then research one that doesn't have them and let us know because I don't know of any. 3:09 - Cruise control could be a button but most electric scooters use the same type of activation, Apollo lets you adjust it in the app if you want to use the app. 3:22 - I agree the headlight could be bigger/brighter. 3:49 - Having the stem be one solid piece or fold higher up would defeat the whole purpose of the electric scooter being portable. 3:59 - I don't care that YOU don't need to be able to pick it up, most people do as they live in an apartment or other type of building that doesn't have a garage. That hook is required to pick the scooter up by the stem when folded. And yes people do take this on public transit. 4:16 - Apollo issued a recall on the stem almost a year ago now so its been solved since then. Remember nothing is indestructible and if there's something that can break people will find a way. 4:24 - Lots of electric scooters have this suspension setup, if it was a problem the entire industry would have ditched it long ago. 4:48 - Bigger wheels and tires would increase the weight of the scooter and may increase comfort so there are tradeoffs. Same as solid tires vs air filled tires. 5:04 - Brakes are fine, like I said up above the regen brakes are extremely good at stopping you in an emergency, you can adjust the throttle and regen brake response in the app, if you don't use the app then I believe it defaults to 50% on both. And no you definitely do not want to lock up your wheels, this is because you can't control the scooter when the tires are not spinning, they added ABS to motorcycles for a reason. 5:26 - I don't have the Apollo City so I can't speak to getting wet because of the fenders but no one else I have seen review this has any criticisms of how waterproof the scooter is (Including the rider) 5:46 - The difference between dual motor and single motor is night and day in terms of torque and traction, regular vehicles have one engine that produces power and torque and sends that power via your drive line AWD and/or RWD. Electric vehicles have more than one “engine" like the Apollo City that has two 500W motors in it and the Apollo Air only has one 500W motor so the City can climb hills better than the Apollo Air as it has double the amount of torque it can put to the ground. It's also cheaper to have two 500W motors in each wheel rather than one 1000W motor in one wheel. You're comparing Gas vs Diesel in this scenario they're just designed to do two completely different things. 6:29 - Why would you want your turn signals to flash if you are not intending to turn? There would be no quick distinguishing factor for anyone in a vehicle to know if you were trying to stop or trying to turn. 6:50 - Just go buy a fast charger, It will degrade the life of the battery faster using it on a daily basis. That's why they don't include one and why your phone battery is absolute trash after a year or two. This whole video feels like you got a Moped but actually wanted a Harley so your complaining that the Moped doesn't have the same features, size and feel as the Harley. There are other brands out there perfect for you you I'm sure, so just do some research and get the one right for you. The reason other reviewers don't seem to (In your eyes) be giving good criticism is because they're reviewing it knowing what the people watching want to know about it and where they're coming from, ESG being the most known channel.
As a newbie, thanks for pointing out the folding stem. Im 220 . Im new . My appollo Go has no issue pulling my heavy ass around. I have noticed the pushing and pulling of the stem . So thanks for pointing it out.
These could be valid criticisms for trying to decide what scooter you are looking to buy. But you want Apollo to build a scooter that caters to you. You fail to realize that Apollo has designed a scooter that caters to ITS customer base. You want motorcycle style throttle, get another style. I absolutely love thumb throttles because their not affected when I accelerate or decelerate quickly. When I'm riding my scooter, I don't want it to feel like I'm riding a motorcycle. If I wanted that experience, there are plenty of other scooters that provide that. I want my scooter to feel more like a bike ride, closer to the speeds I'm comfortable with. Don't like drum brakes? Why did you forget to mention how effective regenerative braking is that you don't need to use the regular brakes very often if at all? I've never needed to use my drum brakes to come to a quick halt. And you exaggerate the weight of the scooter. Put it on the scale and show that it weighs 80 pounds. Because mine weighs 63 pounds. The regenerative braking has never had an issue quickly stopping me with my gear totaling to 250 pounds with no issue. And if you were really wanting hydraulic braking, get another scooter. Want fast charging? Buy a fast charger. Fast chargers wear out batteries much faster because of the increased voltage, so I rather enjoy that Apollo give me the choice to extend battery life or shorter charge times. And then complaining about the stem design? How many Apollo City stems have you heard of just breaking because of failure? Why would I want my turn signal lights to act the same as my brake lights? They're different colors so others can tell what they are trying to signal. A stem that folds halfway down? Uh, that makes no sense. Apollo knows it's customers want the most portability when transporting their scooter. I have an enormous trunk (Cadillac DTS) and no scooter would fit in the trunk with a stem that folds from the halfway mark. If I wanted a scooter, that had motorcycle throttles, half folding stem, dual shocks, with a different style turn signal buttons, I would have gotten something other than an Apollo. I specifically got the Apollo City because I wanted the features that it had. If it didn't, I wouldn't buy an Apollo scooter, then guise my criticism as an attempt to get the company to change the scooter completely.
@@Matt_Dylan You think I've been captured by someone? Like Apollo? I think you should make sure you don't lie in your videos (such as when you made up the weight of the scooter) if you want people to take your reviews/videos more seriously. And you should also know how to take valid criticism as well. Just as you recommended in your video. Just a tip, if you're trying to grow your channel.
haha LOL made me laugh a couple time! Thanks for the video Man! Great feedback! Can't help to think that a lot of these were fix on the most recent model like the pro, now we just need to apply those changes down the lineup! ;-)! Will work hard on implementing these so your next scooter is also an apollo!
I can tell you're a special boy from this comment. Maybe you should go look at the manual. Or do a Google search. Thanks for watching! Like and subscribe!
What do you think about my suggestion for changes? Do you have any other suggestions also? Apollo reads the comments so here's your chance for the next scooter they make.
@Matt_Dylan The Apollo team is quite a stubborn or weak group to do things really, right??? We're they hiding the 18650 batteries in some of the scooters? What happened to the famously bragged Dynavolt battery??? Yes,LG & Samsung batteries are 👍 👌 👍 too. 10x3" tubless and or solid tires too should be standard for better rider safety. May be in 3 years Apollo gets the 9/10???!😊 Wish you well guys.
It doesn't make me happy to spend a bunch of time and money reviewing a product that should be awesome, only to have it fall short in every way. And then I have to deal with all the stupid comments of people who think they're smarter than me but don't have any videos reviewing the product themselves.

That's good to hear. How many miles on it?

Dumping that a lot of power into the battery isn’t healthy for them and apparently kills the life of them. What I have heard.
