As a post-grad student in Warsaw in 1964 I heard those silenced voices so powerfully as I walked through the former Ghetto area. knowing nothing. Then, much later I discovered the newly published Polish version, Warsaw ghetto diaries ed Grynberg and on that basis I wrote a colection of poems Ghetto (Lion Publishing) read in the Edinburgh Book Festival 1989, after that, living in Sienna Street I researched the Ghetto story and wrote Don't go to Uncle's Wedding, voices from the Warsaw Ghetto (Azure/SPCK 2000). All this was based on material from the Ringleblum archives. They are invaulable.
