  • The subject in this video is the Convento de São Francisco. The convent was built in the 16th century, having lost its religious functions in the 19th century, when it was sold to private individuals. It was reused as a cork deposit and warehouse linked to the canning industry, and then left abandoned, having reached an advanced state of degradation.
The convent is located on the western bank of the River Arade , close to the mouth of that watercourse, and the port, in a prime area of Portimão. It is considered one of the city's main monuments due to its history and geographical situation, being one of the first views that visitors have of Portimão when they arrive by sea, such as passengers on cruise ships.
The convent buildings are located on a large plot of land delimited by a fence, with the modern intra-wall area being larger than the original. The complex is essentially made up of a set of interconnected buildings with two floors, which includes a church, a cloister, several chapter rooms, dormitories for the friars, and a refectory.
The only problem I had were the Seagulls flying nearby and they got really close to my drone. I think the video turned out really good.
