I use a card scraper to take finish off of plane totes when I’m restoring them. BearKat wood had little pieces of spring steel for getting into tight curves and the like
I mention in the video that I got the idea to use edge of the chisel from Wood By Wright. Literally as I was uploading this video, he released a video where he restores a Miller Falls egg beater in which he uses a card scraper to remove the finish. Ask 5 different woodworkers how to do something and you'll get 10 different answers.
