One question: voluntary participation means that participants decide by themselves participate or not in the project and if they decided they should (!) participate/be active during the project in all activities (beside if they feel sick or another reasonable cases) OR voluntary participation means that it’s up to you: to participate in any part of the project or not. Thanks for the question, Oleg! Great that we can have discussion on principles, and the voluntary participation is a fundamental for participation in general. Even if the people initially decided to take part in the activity (by their good will) , they can withdraw their participation of any parts or methods - as we can not force people to learn. Sometimes there can be resistance to participating and taking a challenge - then we as trainers support (by providing safe space), but at the came time encourage participants to take risk and challenge themselves
Hi Oleg. That is a very good question. Non-formal education is always with voluntary basis, so if the participant, even being in the training, do not want to attend anymore, it's his/her right. And then it's up to the trainer to use techniques to try to engage or motivate the participant to be there and active (if possible). Being active is also another thing, because some participants may prefer to observe and reflect as their learning process, and they may seem that they are not active. Since you mention projects, I'm not sure if you are referring to Erasmus +, or just considering training as a project. If it's about Erasmus +, then there are some rules that participants need to attend at least 80% of the project, which means they need to be physically present on the sessions of the training. Glad to see good questions and active participation from different people here! :)
Great video and explanation! Can you allow contributions to the subtitles? If you activate that option, other people can, voluntarily, add subtitles in other languages and spread the word! :) It would make it even more inclusive :)

The brain has a common currency for rewarding finding relevant stuff - it is as powerful as a shot of drug, so people love to learn if you allow and help them to follow their natural learning trajectory.
