This is the story about my accident in a volkswagen virtus. I was driving in the night in samruddhi mahamarg last year and there was a wild boar on the road, and the accident happened with barely any reaction time.
In this video i talk about safe ways to secure an accident car and how to safely stay on a high speed expressway like Samruddhi Expressway.
Then we show details on RSA recovery and the different facilities VW offers.
We also have a discussion on the RSA experience..

High Beam are there for a reason brother your on a National Expressway where you are having 3 lanes and there is no problem to use the high beam as there is no upcoming traffic in you lane. Hope you guys are safe.Use the High beam when you travell on samruddhi when and whenever required it will save both you and your vehicle
Thank you for the valuable feedback, as I had explained in the previous video, there was a truck just before this incident, which I overtook and had to flash lights.
While flashing lights, the headlight drops back to low.. the accident happened before I could switch it back to high
Very true....high beam should be used on highway ...
It happens sometimes don't worry keep driving.
But I have a humble suggestion for you.
1) please raise the low beam to higher level (there is an adjustment screw in engine bay for lowering and raising beam throw). Your low beam is too low. Place a sedan or hatchback in front of your car (approx 35m in front of your car) and make sure the cut off in low beam mode is right below the logo of the car in front. Drive your car backwards slowly and keep increasing the distance between your car and the car in front. As you increase the distance the cut off level should not rise and if it rises then it means that the level is too high and will blind on coming traffic. The car in front should be placed in the same position as your car with bonnet-front and boot-rear position.
2) Always use high beam on highways and momentarily switch to high beam and go back to low beam immediately in City to find any road hazards.

I used to rip off my car on this highways but later I started driving not more than 80kmph this gives me good mileage and control over the car hoping you start using the same 80😅
Yes.. I also find 80 a sweet spot.. Great mileage 19+ in virtus GT
Same thing happened with me on my Slavia 1.5 DSG but was on broad daytime i was at 110 cruise mode and within 10 feets a dog came and hit my car but was lucky there was only damage to the lock carrier assembly
Please take all precautions as not to hit animals on highway .
No one wants to damage cars and see animals suffer. It was a traumatic experience

Accidents happen but many accidents can be avoided. This was one such that could have been avoided. In my opinion the speed was too high for night driving. May be you are within speed limit but in the darkness of night 114 kmph is mad speed. We must respect the environmental factors like the difference between day night and logical factors like speed at night. A question now arises, why are these high performance cars are most involved in accidents. I see a pattern and its obvious that the drivers take pride of their purchases and just ignores the danger/damage it can do. I own a Skoda and I can understand the urge for speed but we must respect others lives. Our roads are also used by animals at night. Let us not just take pride in our wealthy possession but also be a responsible human being. Unfortunately these innocent animals don't have a 5 Star safety rating like ur car. Please cooperate.
I do appreciate the message that you shared. However please know that driving at 114 was not for fun.. it was calculated part of the itinerary because of multiple assurances by media and govt that samruddhi mahamarg has measures to prevent animal incursion.
There are many such expressways across the world that crosses through forest areas, and they maintain such standards to prevent animals through extensive boundary walls and wire mesh.
In the excitement of being on an international quality highway, I forgot that this is India and maintaining standards is always a theory and not a practice.
I do accept that I was not attentive enough to notice im not on high beam, but driving at 80 on an expressway is not good.
That is one of the reasons I shared this video.. in hope that the authorities take notice of these gaping holes in walls and take action.
If I have to drive in 80s, I will take a national highway with half the toll tax. If expressways are charging extra for recovering costs of building a world class highway, they should also be sincere to stand up to their commitment on safety measures
You rightly mentioned that you should exit the car in case of an accident. However, you stood just next to the car, which is equally dangerous. If another vehicle hits your car from behind, you’ll get seriously injured. So, the advice is to stand about 15-20 metres ahead. Also, place a warning triangle 25-30 metres behind the car to warn other drivers. And, ideally, keep a high visibility vest in the car to wear in such situations.

Brother u have a nice High beam range. Please use them on the highway when crusing at high speed.
Driving is not all about how u drive it is also thinking about how others drive and what are the precautions to be taken when cruising at speeds.

Feel bad for the poor thing it could have been avoided if high beam was used.
The main reason is here due to high beam was not engaged.... otherwise it could be easily detected. Specially virtus has very strong and long thrown of high beam.

glad that u guys are safe, but never even drive with low beam for a sec with these conditions, dividers are there for a reason and one being u can drive on high beam on unlight stretches, even if u overtake some truck flashing, ur default should be high or low until u r clear of ur road ahead, moreover its road and these things can happen to anyone with high beam too, so just keep driving and be safe, and bhai VW hai to itna kuch nhi hua, maruti hoti to things could have been worse
I have auxiliary lights for this situation.. it was an small animal ... We have cows and what not sitting on highway who can cause a major accident
Could you share some info on the light details.. like wattage, model, Cost etc

Can you confrim the dashcam model, In video I can see the recording is done for front and for cabin as well?
to avoid these kindoff accidents we have to set light range control correctly when fully loaded it has set to 1 or 2. 😒
I had same experience..a dog hit on the expressway and the entire assembly had to be changed on my new virtus....

Why i didn't find any risk in the car?
A month RO for this minor accident is why they are always behind in the market. Not acceptable at all, major accidents require a month this should have been done in 15 days at max.
My parts list was one page long. A lot of things had damaged internally.. like two radiators, intercooler, oil reservoir, some crash beam, radiator fan, any many more..
The total parts cost was around 1.5 lakh inr. It was done in 3 weeks.. but since I had to book tickets and all, it took a few more days.
Insurance took about 5 days to approve

That is what i was thinking who uses low beam on highway. No one will come and do chalan on highway
