R.I.P. to every soldier that fought in that dreadful war, for all the hellholes and deathes they went through, German, Japanese, Italian, American, British, French, Soviet, they all died as soldiers and I admire them for that.
Russians, Chinese, Uzbeks, Kazahs, Tajiks, koreans, Africans, Poles, Swedes, Finns, Norwegians, Ukranians, Jews and other nations. death is the price of truth.
My grandfather fought in WW2, he fought in the Pacific in Japan. He was a cook but he still fought... It's a shame, he died a couple months before I was born... wish I could have met him.
youre right, i live in Holland and i have respect for those brave man that gave their lives for a country that isn't theirs. cuz of them we live in freedom † respect for the fallen persons
man i wish my great grandpa was in easy company, he got put into another company. but he was still in the 101st with these guys, he wrote my grandpa or his son, that he was friends with alot of guys in easy, so im proud, and doc roe was my favorite character cause he's a badass
I seriously doubt if any piece of cinema or TV will be able to match the powers of Saving Private Ryan, but this is amazing in its own right for giving such an introspective view into these guys' lives (especially during the Siege of Bastogne).
For the british ... which you don't hear aobut often, launched a raid with commando groups on the U-boat base stationed in St. Nazaire ... it was a suicide mission, the Destroyer was supposed to go straight for the dry dock slam through the main gate and explode ontop of it ... they suceeded with the capture of their entire crew, they also blew up the pumps that were used to draw out water for the dry Dock ... but i guess you hardly ever hear those stories cause the main bulk of it is the above.
i can't live without band of brothers , seriously , i know that you get 100's of comments everyday on this vid but i truely feel connected to this video! band of brothers all the way!
@warhawk9566 saw this like 8-9 years ago in HBO bt never really understood as I was bad in English but never the less loved army movies.........and when few weeks ago when I saw the whole series all 10 episodes I remebered almost half of the events; STILL.......UTMOST RESPECT 4 THE MESN OF EASY COMPANY!!!!!!!!!!!!
Very well done! You got the mix of vid and the music perfect! I live in Oregon and am a member of the Evergreen Air Museum, so I've got to go to a couple of dinners where I've met Sergeant Don Malarkey, plus some other guys who were with E company in WW2. I just wish I could meet all the others! It's so cool to listen to their stories in person!
These men were heroes but like what Major.Dick Winters said to his grandson the real heroes were the soldiers who died on the battlefield for their country but they were all heroes
this is so good, amazing series i remember being in grade 5 and getting mum to tape me every episode so i could watch after school haha. I own the box set now, awesome video btw!!
btw saw this show (didnt see a full episode though) and loved it made me feel like i was really there and even though i already had a good understanding of ww2 it gave me a better one. One scene that's stuck in my mind is when easy company is in a belgian city (that was the first episode i saw so i dont know names well) and one of the soldiers (a young boy) was shot and how he was screaming about how he didnt want to die.
I gotta tell ya, when listening to this without watching it, the explosions, gunfire, and screams seem just a little out of place with this sort of song. Watching it, though, everything seems quite well put together. Very emotional video, excellent work.
@nepal9211 there training helped in those situations but they didnt recieve special training. they recieved the same training as anyone else. A saying from Sun Tzu the man who wrote the art of war "Put a normal man in an impossible fight and he will become a better warrior than any elite." that's not word for word but u get it. the impossible situations easy company faced and their will to survive was what made them such badasses
The Geneva Convention (the rules of war) is actually four conventions - the 1st-3rd Geneva Conventions (the ones that dealt with medical personnel in the field) had all taken place before WWII. So it was against the rules. But rules only go so far when you're actually in combat.
Just remember in the current climate when you are bashing America that they do a lot of good and you know what, you can always trust one to watch your back. and for that reason they have my respect.
my grandfather was in the war two but dont with the alies with the germans. HE DONT WANNA FIGHT:::but he shut fight ! not all german wher nazis thanku brothers that you helped germany in this bad times!
@MrAMERICANxMUSCLE im in mcjrotc and are instructors were in for a few years, i have plans for the air force thou when im done with high school but right on man
@warhawk9566 so...true situations like that wud scare most men........bt the training and discipline given to them by Sobel was also a major factor.......these guys went through some of the toughest trainings that surpassed normal human beings capacity..thats why their the BEST!!!!!!!! my fav part was probably when they were landing......Day of days....CARANTEEN....and Battle of Bastogne..........their COURAGE!!!!!! BRAVERY!!!!! COMERADSHIP!!!!!! was put to the TEST!!!!!!! that was so...SAD
Yeah I'd definitely agree with that, the German military was one of the best in world history at the time. In the years before WWII they military leaders spent time developing revolutionary and innovative tactics that allowed them to secure such quick victories with such a small amount of casualties in the first years of the war.
@nepal9211 yes hats off to them. they where extremely courageous men. My favorite moments of courag was when a squad was pinned down by an mg-42 and one of the men ran straight up to it an through a grenade inside and when one of the soldiers needed to get to a flanking position so he ran in the open where two mg-42's and a tiger tank was shooting at him. situations like that would scare most men shitless
No, you can just download the episodes from the Internet from Limewire or BitTorrent, but you can use a DVD Ripper if you have the DVD collection to rip the files from the disk.
And if you want to go back even further in time to show the horror of a mechanized war, I think a similar series molded after All Quiet would be fantastic. Show the War from the viewpoint of German (subtitled) and British troops bieng pulled in by propaganda...just a thought.
there are two kinds of leaders 1. the leaders like generals who think nothing of the men whom serve under them yelling Charge men!!! 2. the kind of leader like Winters whom i would look up to whom respect are protect his men they are the brave ones yelling Follow me men!!!
i think you al are missing the concept behind thefunnyman217's comment. fighting side by side, fighting and living for a cause and even dying for a cause is a noble thing... aint no rascism, hate or anything between men who shed blood together... i agree id like to have fought with men like these, maybe i and others today would be better people for it and just maybe we wouldnt be looking over our shoulder or going to war again, but then again mankind will never learn. R.I.P Heroes!
To be honest from a Military and Polictical standpoint Hitler did one hell of a job as well as His generals. To take up more land than near 4-5 times the size of germany and then defend it all ... to inflict casualties of near 3-4 times their own strength and 3-4times their own loasses in WWII is one hell of an acheivement from a Military stand point. I doubt any army now could accomplish something like that ... You have to commend them for putting up a damn good fight.
Isn't he armed with M1 Carbine and in Bastogne he used M1 Garand. He is the top hat of the company, which means that he is the second most important man after Winters. He can command the whole company and even lieutenants cannot tell him what to do. Winters is his commander, not other officers. haha.
i am not one for saying how bad ass they are for fighting and having to deal with the pain of death of their own friend or as they would say every man killed was a piece of them gone
it is in the Geneva Convention, but it is overlooked by everyone. the idea being if that soldier is saved, he could come back and face your army another day. Plus the Japanese sought out and shot our medics specifically.
@evidentmagicman i was gonna join to keep the family line going but my mom said no. my 2 great grandparents were marine generals in WWII my grandpa was a army engineer and my uncle was in the navy during the gulf war it might strand further but thats all i know but i have a knack for strategy and have a tenacious appitite for pushing thru the enemy lines but anyways i rlly liked WWII it rlly was a war that had to be fought
R.I.P. to every soldier that fought in that dreadful war, for all the hellholes and deathes they went through, German, Japanese, Italian, American, British, French, Soviet, they all died as soldiers and I admire them for that.

October 2024, still loving this edit. 480p was the max at the moment of uploading, and had a great view. 2024 and this one ine 480p is still amazing
I used to watch this when I was High School and it's nice to see that this video is still up
My grandfather fought in WW2, he fought in the Pacific in Japan. He was a cook but he still fought... It's a shame, he died a couple months before I was born... wish I could have met him.
My grand father fought in WW2 I just want to thank you for making this video. This shows Tribute for The Heroes that fought in the war.

Ninguém é herói....A gente só faz Oque tem que fazer
I have to agree with a few other below, it is hard to not be sad watching this.
Unless you're like me
Hats off to any man who fought in that war. Allies or Axis they were all brave men and deserve respect.
youre right, i live in Holland and i have respect for those brave man that gave their lives for a country that isn't theirs. cuz of them we live in freedom
† respect for the fallen persons
I remember watching this video about 10 years ago. Fucking crazy how time passes so fast.
AMAZING, there are no words for these men. REAL HEROS!
If there were more WW2 vets around, they would be up in arms about what has happened to this country
anyone else have a really hard time not crying while watching these music videos?
Nope

my grandfather fought in WW2 as a medic. I think this was really good. The song fits well.
Still remember play this video while play medal of honor what an epoque for the WW2 cinema !
man i wish my great grandpa was in easy company, he got put into another company. but he was still in the 101st with these guys, he wrote my grandpa or his son, that he was friends with alot of guys in easy, so im proud, and doc roe was my favorite character cause he's a badass

R.I.P. Major Richard D. Winters and God Bless You.

Great video. Very well cut.

These men were heroes but like what Major.Dick Winters said to his grandson the real heroes were the soldiers who died on the battlefield for their country but they were all heroes
If you are talking about Joe Toye then yes he did survive. He lived in Pennsylvania until his death in 1995
greatest movie of all time!
this is so good, amazing series i remember being in grade 5 and getting mum to tape me every episode so i could watch after school haha. I own the box set now, awesome video btw!!

@nepal9211 yes hats off to them. they where extremely courageous men. Happy new year 2017 !
@MrAMERICANxMUSCLE
dude sweet! i wish you the best of luck
@TheUprisingNinja Actually January 2nd. I found that out shortly after posting that.
@mehl3 also germans are called krauts short for sauerkrauts (yes that's spelled correctly)
No, you can just download the episodes from the Internet from Limewire or BitTorrent, but you can use a DVD Ripper if you have the DVD collection to rip the files from the disk.
respect

war sucks no matter what side you're on.
ok thanks
well i hope i can figure that out now :)
thanks a ton guys!
But it made it more emotional when the guys were bleeding, hurt, or dying
To be honest from a Military and Polictical standpoint Hitler did one hell of a job as well as His generals.

Yes, you're correct.
easy company fought germans but anyway that goes great you did a great job mate.
i just remember my great uncle who do death march in philippines during wwll hes already gone when 2011
@Devellish well, when you go over there, god, listen to hero of war and anything bad he sings about in that song, only do half
it's a real story with real soldier's ...
Isn't he armed with M1 Carbine and in Bastogne he used M1 Garand. He is the top hat of the company, which means that he is the second most important man after Winters. it is but the phrase war is hell is true once again
well, good luck....i hope to be able to do the same thing soon, you never know,we might not know it but,we could meet over there, doubt it,
it is in the Geneva Convention, but it is overlooked by everyone. the idea being if that soldier is saved, he could come back and face your army another day. Plus the Japanese sought out and shot our medics specifically.
Being a Soldier was the only thing I was ever good at.
I see, Harry is pretty cool, Sorry Now I know that it is Thompson not Tommy Gun. Harry Welsh i think he was the company's XO-Executive Officer.
@webster22221 we also called the germans "fritz" and "krauts"
Yes I know, but I was only telling him different ways to get it onto your computer, Limewire is not illegal though its only file sharing.
I am a niece, granddaughter and great granddaughter who is proud of 3 very important people who served for our country
They didnt served your country , also they destroyed Europe :( . You should read some hostirc books
um... you guys know that the carentan and all the other city scenes were made in a small village on the set?
yes they are
@evidentmagicman i was gonna join to keep the family line going but my mom said no. my 2 great grandparents were marine generals in WWII my grandpa was a army engineer and my uncle was in the navy during the gulf war it might strand further but thats all i know but i have a knack for strategy and have a tenacious appitite for pushing thru the enemy lines
