    Having lived in Charleston, SC for 12 years up until 2005 and know about earthquakes in South Carolina, am surprised to see seismic straps on a hot water heater.

    My water was so hard that the warranty for my on demand water heater would be void. I installed the Kinetico whole house system at the same time as the water heater when I built. Both have been flawless for seven years.

    I just got kinetico macrolite backwashing system with the premier series water softener and brine drum with the K5 drinking system. 5 tanks and a brine drum in total.
    I had heavy ferric and ferrous iron as well as 15x the normal amount of manganese. Had the system for a week and the water is so much thinner and crisp. I’m on a well and my appliance went bad from how bad my water was and kinetico systems fixed it.

    I had a whole house RO system installed, for a well system, spent $20k. It's been 3 yrs and I'm always having issues. Biggest issue is the company that installed the system, no longer offer whole house RO systems, the old techs left and no one knows how it works. They got in touch with an old tech to fix my system. But now its broken again. It took 6 months to fix it the first time. Now I'm hesitant to call them again. But there's no one else who knows these systems.
    I must say, when the system works, I love the water.

    It really is a great reliable system
    I have had mine for 20 years and never had an issue. I’m ready to upgrade my whole house unit for another one.

    We just installed one for whole house. Unfortunately, there are some gray particles in the water, coming from fiteration system. I am worried what they are. What side effect they might have.

    I have kinetico whole house filter that has worked great for years but has recently stopped removing iron. Is there anything I can do to get it working again? It has a full tank of peroxide.

    A great system that worked well for about 7 years. Subsequently, the automatic backwash became faulty and it was backwashing every hour. The service personnel took weeks to attend to it and now the whole system has failed. The outer body is leaking, the backwash is non-functional and the serviceman missing. A very poor after-sales service for a good system. I am a user in Malaysia.

    You did a okay job explaining the system and how the brine worked from the salt tank to the other tank but you didn't explain the drain valve or I should say line on the other side and how that works kind of disappointing.

    Why doesn't the top dial (just under the plastic markings) spin? Why does only the bottom one below that one spin?

    Dies the whole house unit remove heavy metals and cysts?
    Does the reverse osmosis system reintroduce the minerals that it has removed into the water?

    I just bought a house with an old kinetico whole house water system and my well water inspector said it's junk for the simple reason that nobody will touch them for repairs or maintenance. It looks in pretty good condition but I honestly have no idea. How would I get somebody who's qualified and willing to come take a look at it and do any periodic maintenance on it?

    For instance, if I decide for the Kinetico for the whole house only (and not the drink system under the sink), can I drink water from the tap? Is it clean to drink?

    • @unpopularopinion149
      @unpopularopinion149 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      It is only softened. Has reduced iron but probably not other minerals. It will be better water but the reverse osmosis k5 really makes a difference.

      If your install team did it correctly they would have had hard lines running to those outside faucets and a separate hard line running to your kinetico.

    We buried our Kinetico tank, rather than keeping it in the garage. It's working well; however, there seems not to be enough chlorine in the water because the toilets get mildew. Help!

    We have a kinetico plus VX Delux system (13 years old). We change the blue & purple filters as needed, but have never sanitized the system/tank. How do we sanitize our system? The GM system has specific instructions for their's and you can buy their sanitize cartridges. Does Kinetico have something similar? Or maybe a manual showing how to sanitize?

      The resin beads at the bottom of your kinetico water softener self clean during the backwash phase. That's what your brine tank with salt is for. However those beads don't last forever. At some point they'll need replacement.

    There is a drainage pipe that goes to the outside of my house, it has been draining water constantly, what does that do? And why has it been draining water?

    • @Mottdm

      Does the drain ever stop? Why system do you have? If it never stops it could be chew up all your media due to it flowing continuously.

  • @jasonhunter6125
    @jasonhunter6125 5 ปีที่แล้ว

    cool and stupid. What I find cool is of course that I drink clean water;), but what I find stupid is why aren't these in a 19" rack mount size. They seem to use lots of horizontal space instead of fitting snuggly inside a 19" cabinet. Also, can I have the reverse osmosis unit in the technical room, serving multiple sinks or something similar? I don't want installations at each drinking station

    does it affect the water pressure in house ?

    • @taylorfusion

      Nobody is talking about this

    • @toddfiller4631
      @toddfiller4631 2 หลายเดือนก่อน

      The water pressure is all determined by your pump from the well. These systems don't have any electricity running to them.

    Dechlorinator is on the wrong side of the bypass. Smh

    • @dannyrodriguez7102
      @dannyrodriguez7102 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      LMAO watching this today and was the first thing i noticed. Water is running through that prefilter and the dechlorinator backwards.

    • @toddfiller4631
      @toddfiller4631 2 หลายเดือนก่อน

      It's not. Those handles at the top of the systems have two different settings for which direction the flow goes through. So you can actually set it up either way but you need to make sure you have the level on the right setting for water direction.

  • @jaxxo5
    @jaxxo5 5 ปีที่แล้ว

    I was told that I didn't need the pre-filter if I got the carbon filter

    • @josiec.2923
      @josiec.2923 4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      you still want a pre-filter to catch the sediment. Over time the sediment will collect and clog the carbon system, shortening it’s service life. It’s better and cheaper to have a pre-filter (whole house filter) to extend the life of the chloramine reduction system that uses carbon.

  • @BeeBombard
    @BeeBombard 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    So by the time it goes through all that you'll have no pressure lol

    • @unpopularopinion149
      @unpopularopinion149 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Nope..mine goes through four tanks and no loss of pressure at all.

    • @toddfiller4631
      @toddfiller4631 2 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Your water pressure is based on your well pump. These systems don't have pumps on them, just water lines (which means they don't have any electrical parts on them). So get a good well pump and you'll be good.
