Great graphics, great story, great voice-acting, fun gameplay, cool characters. Everything in this game was superior, I only wish that it was MUCH longer, because it is so fun. The game has replay value though. Hope for a sequel.

It has everything; dark eerie realistic atmosphere, Metal Gear Solid type stealth mode, superb[yet simple] combat system, detective mode, thrilling boss fights, etc,.. it has it all. Had this had maybe allowed the users to use the Batmobile or any type of vehicle + if it was a tad bit longer, this game would've been a masterpiece. But I'm sure we'll see vehciles in Arkham Asylum 2. I give this game a 9.5, go play it now.

@pivetom It's against the Bats rules to use a gun, there's probably a way to snap someone's neck and not kill em, to just incapacitate them. Either way, No Guns for the Bats even though in the beginning so I heard he did carry one.
@TimmahUK In addition, the person playing this video is completely neglecting to use any of his takedown moves when enemies are knocked to the ground, use the evasion move to maneuver around enemies and disorient them, and use his cape to temporarily daze enemies. This aside the gameplay also has areas where you will have to sneak up on armed enemies instead of just meleeing them. You can take them out from corners and ledges, pull them into pits, jump on them from above, leave then hanging, etc
And I said "Suit", not helmet. The suit is a heavy kevlar composition, heavy enough to withstand a bullet, but light enough for the person to move around. It can not withstand a hit from a rifle, but is rather designed for close combat.
I have to admit, this was the one video that influenced me to actually go and buy the game in 2010 and I loved it a long with Arkham City, thanx to the user :)

@Minajiesu maybe those counter measures included killing the thugs...or maybe he just didn't want to redo the painting and besides if it's bullet proof...it stops the bullet...that doesn't mean the car remains intact.

They're making a sequel due to the great critics it got :P Harvey "Two-Face" Dent is expected in the sequel, along with possibly Killer Croc, and Scarecrow or Bane. Mr Freeze is a likability as well.

@RelativeBadger In games, movies, and comics, enemies attack one at a time to avoid hitting each other. If you hate this aspect of the game, then you'd also hate it on every other movie. Also, they're not just standing around, they're looking for the perfect time to attack; everybody rushing in to attack isn't always smart. In games like God of War or Devil May Cry, enemies pile up on you. In a game like Arkham Asylum, it's more methodical combat, kinda like Splinter Cell and Metal Gear.
This is a perfect game play video. No lame music and no leet speak chat bubble comments. I wish more people uploaded straight up game play segments like this. These give me a indication if I'll like the game. This video convinced me I need to pick this up soon.
In arkham city i wouldnt call it free roaming but you can turn on and off missions. But in the middle of an objective you can complete riddles and kick ass

Thats what the challenge mode is for, Shawn11986. It advises quite alot in the loading menu's to practice and improve your skills in the challenge mode. Currently I can get a 31x hit combo with ease, do remember you can do the critical combo-ground takedowns mid-combo, can counter attacks, they all build up the combo.
@TimmahUK Yeah but it's a bit more difficult than it sounds, and in hard mode markers don't appear above the enemies heads to tell you when to block. In addition to attacking and countering you eventually get to throw enemies into each other, do takedown moves that immediately 'kill' the enemy, pull enemies with your batclaw, and throw your battarangs at enemies. You also need to consciously aim the camera in the direction of enemies you want to attack and counter.
I wish that the next batman game would be free roaming like the spiderman and superman returns. It could be sandbox style like gta and you could do missions and stuff and explore Gotham city in you batmobile.
Yes, it's sort of like Metroid games where you can go anywhere, but you need gadgets to advance past certain locations. I'm thinking of getting it too. I just don't know if it's worth the 60 bucks.

Rocksteady should do every super hero game. They said more DC characters r gonna get the same treatment as Arkham Asylum. i hope Superman gets some justice.
This might be a noob question, but: How do you guys capture your gameplay? What software do you use? Obviously using a camera to record gameplays is okay, but I'm sure the audio/visual quality is not as good as the one straight from your computers/consoles. Anyone?

Arkham city definitely improved the detective vision. It was too clear in AA and made some people keep it on the whole game.

When Batman walk to the top of the cliff, and emerges, I think that is a EPIC scene.
It's stretched taut, you can't glide well if the cloth is loose. When you don't use the glide the cape flows brilliantly.

@EBlueProductions The producers said they didn't involve that because they didn't want the focus to be on driving or racing in any form.

batmobile looks like the batmobile from Batman & Robin Forever. The best Batmobile was the very 1st Batman movie with Michael Keaton.

One thing I wish we could do is put the exploding foam on a Batarang and then have it explode when it strikes a target.

killzone 2 has about 7-9 hours gameplay, i have killzone 2, but i am now gonna get batman arkham asylum, which is around the same time of gameplay.
