If you do this then your hair is more likely to look like the first girl's. Using a curling iron or straightener makes the curls too small and not as loose.

Try curling all of it with rollers then brushing/shaking it out. That’s what my mom(teen in the 70s) did. OR if you’re really struggling and determined to get volume in your hair you could get a body perm
People who love this 70's look should check out some of the other styles from that era. So much to see, and from the photos in my parent's yearbooks there was seemingly a style for every type of hair texture!
