On top of that, during Songkran (Thai New Year’s Eve) the majority of interesting people leave the city. Some restaurants and bars are closed. It is the most important holiday for Thai people. It’s the time when they visit their parents in the countryside or on the islands. The best time to visit Bangkok is from late October to early February.
