  • Welcome back all, in todays episode we continue from the previous episode concentrating on the floor, as mentioned the floor will be a high interest area with lots of detail so it’s important we do it the best we can..
Adding a fairly substantial scrap pile using paper as a base filler. Applying 2 coats of AK Interactive Mud paste to help the paper become firm and a little protection. Then it’s a simple case of applying PVA followed by the scrap fragments. This are really does allow us to become creative and with this in mind we replicate clear Caterpillar tracks from the scrap handler.
Adding height to the previous scrap area underneath the low relief coaches. There is still lots of work ahead and lots of details we can add. The scrap layer we are applying is just a starting point and a base cover.
Please don’t forget This is all work from a beginner, I’m learning as I go. I value all comments, tips & tricks not just for me but anyone who is wanting to start the journey on model railways. This is a modular build planning to be at least 5 modules. As each module progresses and we move onto the next module we will see improvements regarding skill level.

Beautiful scrap yard Wayne. Love the KDW material handler. She looks great in that space.

The module is coming along nicely. The texture paint gives a good result. One techique you can use is to put masking tape over the scrunched up paper so it is firmer before you paint over it.

@@timstrainvideos142 if you have access to wood shavings and a bit of paint you could make them yourself 😊 they are just wood shavings. The shiny pieces you see in my video are I believe aluminium but I could be wrong.
