I can't lose weight if I intake more than about 20g carbs per day. I don't hold back on the calories though (healthy fats). I use a glucose meter before and after meals to check what spikes my blood glucose. I find it important for me to get this feedback to manage my T2D and take the guess work out of it. We are all individuals with different states of metabolic health. There are healthy carbs and unhealthy carbs.

Hi Segun. Thanks for the comment - great to know that people are finding the transcripts useful! The one for this video is here --> carbs.link/what-are-carbs and we'll be sure to include them for the future videos too. Thanks again for the feedback!

Bread unfortunately, it's been so quick and easier to prepare with the daily challenge lockdown brought.

Hi Emma. Bread is such an easy go-to! Getting into the habit of choosing wholegrain where poss is key. :O)

No evidence that carbs cause fat more than any other nutrient; really? The calories in/calories out mentality is so ingrained, do you never ask why the calories on our shops' shelves aren't turning to fat? The critical factor in the human body is the energy storage hormone insulin, stimulated by dense carbohydrates, and to a lesser extent protein.
As for the simple/complex discrimination, well the WHO said that was outdated by Gi, which is nearly 40 years old now.

We've got a video update coming soon, so you can see progress and what the new app will look like. The new app will be released on Android and iOS at the same time, so both platforms have the same app. Thanks for your patience! :O)

I’m far to confused, I’m not allowed high fat because of digestive issues, and now told not to eat carbs. Told I can eat porridge then told not, I’m starting to give up

I was like you, confused. I am a Type 2 Diabetic and suffered weight probs all my life. Carbs, no carbs, sugar blah blah. Dieticians totally confused me, and I am afraid that although this vid has many truths some points are not so. Re: carbs and weight gain. My advice to you is to try and get into a Keto diet and learn everything there is to know. Dr Eric Berg (on TH-cam) has valuable advice and also try Dr Sten Ekberg as well, he is also a holistic doctor and I learnt from him first. I am on Keto, have lost an amazing amount of weight and feel terrific without missing out on foods. I just changed my whole life and way of eating. Check out Keto meals here on TH-cam and also online. If you need more help just let me know. I am always here.
