Ok nice, but I have a model with 130 uvsets... and would like to merge them all to just 1 uvset (delete all the rest)... how?
wow 130 uvsets! You'll need a script for that. I haven't tested this out but the uv_map_merge.mel should do the trick. Its written by FRANCIS OBRIEN. www.fob3d.com/work/brine-c8p9l-3pmln-fgkn9-e24n3-27rwb

honestly that could be a better method, but this is the best i have found not using any scripts to assist
