still don't understand why Cliff & the Shadows didn't have hits in America till the mid 70s. This is quite good. Glad Elton John got him known here & we were able to see him live on his American tour!! One of the most memorable concerts of my life. Up there with seeing Elvis!!

Please Don’t Tease was the first record I ever bought when I was 11 yrs old., played it non stop on the old Dancette record player.

This was the first record I ever bought and I still have it.
The song was written by Bruce Welch and Pete Chester and stayed at no. 1 for three weeks in the UK charts back in 1960.
A wonderful performance indeed; Tony drumming brilliantly behind the beat.

Absolutely agree - except I wasn’t born until 1961 - arrived with The Young Ones (and born a Browning too!) but count myself blessed to be around to follow this young gentleman’s career! Couldn’t ask for more. 😉

Thats one of the best live pre beatles solos and perhaps even just the best according to George Harrison they should have started to sing and record their own songs, but I think they did well staying with Cliff.
First time I've seen Hank play but not smile.
Arrived in England in the winter, Jan.10, 1963, snow up to our asses. I liked The Shadows and Cliff Richard very much, This was a time when rock and roll and rock ballads in the U.S. were getting into a commercial rut. The music of the '60'2 in England was really groovy. I was fortunate to be there '63 to '66. I loved the country and the people.
