The A-list actors do this by almost desperately throwing themselves on camera during the development process to make sure everyone knows who they are, and what character(s) they're voicing in the movie/show. If they didn't, a lot of them wouldn't be as successful as they are. That's the problem with being a VA. The better you are at your job, the harder it'll be for people to recognize your work as being yours unless you go out of your way to make sure everyone knows.
I'd consider Chris Pratt talented tbh, he's a good actor, and he hasn't even been in that much media compared to people who are specifically voice actors. Just look at his IMDb page compared to likes of John DiMaggio, Troy Baker, or this dude & more. In fact, Chris Pratt actually started out as a voice over artist himself. I don't get the necessity to collectively outrage over a casting decision when you haven't even seen the movie that they're starring in. Lets say you start casting nobody actors, (like what twitter wants) as to give people a chance in landing a role that could easily be a Hollywood celebrity instead, well guess what, they will become celebrities too if the movie or show that they participate in is successful enough, then suddenly because they're popular, do they get their acting privileges revoked or something? So they can never be able to play a character in any form of entertainment ever again just because they're... popular? I mean, I really don't get the Internets thought process on alot of things. Please consider growing some brain cells.

I've always loved how wide a voice actor's range can be. For example, Mario's voice actor, Charles Martinet, does the voice of Paarthurnax from Skyrim, who sounds absolutely nothing like Mario.
Yeah I almost shit myself laughing when I found that one out. If I remember right Amy Rose from sonic shares a voice actress with Lady Butterfly from Sekiro which feels very wrong.

Jim Cummings is such a good imitator of voices he can step on for anyone. I don't think I ever heard anyone replicate Sterling Holloway's voice as well as he does with his Pooh.
She may be the voice of our childhood, but her range is usually just a switch between Twilight Sparkle and Timmy Turner. It's incredibly rare that I catch her voice any more dynamic than that. Now, Mel Blanc on the other hand.....
I feel the difference between Strong & Diamantopoulos, is that she's voiced so many characters from our childhood to the point that her voice is really recognizable. *BUT IF YOU SHOW ME THAT THIS...DEEP-VOICED UNIT SHARES THE SAME VOICE AS THE MICKEY FUCKING MOUSE, I'D CALL YOU A MADMAN.*
This is the beauty and curse of voice acting. When you’re good at it you can immerse yourself in any role. But nobody can tell that it’s you voicing the character so you don’t receive the recognition you deserve.
Isn't that a great feat in the acting world? Sure, people wouldn't recognize your voice straight away, but having a wide vocal range is the eye-catching thing here. Plus, it's not like there's no credit scene for people to look for their favourite voice actor ( or actor in general )
I think thats a reward in of its self. Look at the bright side. You do your job so well that they are so immersed in the character that they see YOU as that character so much they dont even think about whos behind, just that you are changing someones life and they dont even know your name. That is the beauty of Voice Acting

That's actually the exact reason why celebrities like The Rock are A list, it's because movie directors want people to go "Oh! I know this person from this other thing!" and make them want to watch it, when you have a person which such a wide range, where people need to post videos showing the VA's clips telling you that they're the same person, you don't have that same recognition. So they aren't as well known, because they are too good at what they do
Additional fact: Chris Diamantopoulos also played Moe in the Three Stooges movie alongside Will Sasso (Curly) and Sean Hayes (Larry). Also he’s one fantastic Mickey Mouse, I honestly prefer him over the one that voices him in Mickey Mouse Clubhouse after the passing of Wayne Allwine back in May 2009
When I first watched Inside Job, I was hoping towards the end of the pilot that Brett was going to stick around and be a regular. Wish granted. But I did get a second wish I didn't know I was making, that of Robotus sticking around as well. And a lot of that goes to Chris for selling me on that lovable psychopath of a machine.

Don't get me wrong, I love a few good voice actors that are "one trick ponies," but you absolutely HAVE to love a VO with an amazing, virtually unrecognizable range. Phil LaMarr is probably one of my favorites, who voiced both Static Shock and Green Lantern in the old 90's WB cartoons.
Reminds me of the vocal range of Luci Christian who's also able to voice high pitched characters like Ochaco Uraraka from My Hero Academia and low-pitched characters like Sonya from Kill Me Baby. It's simply amazing what both can do
After months of practicing, I’ll be finally taking a voice acting course. It’s people like Chris who really displays true versatility in roles. VA is definitely not as easy as it seems

Voice acting isn’t something that is understood main stream. In reality, it’s extremely common for the person behind your favorite childhood character to voice 10+ other characters, no exaggeration LoL. I’m not pretending like I understand, I just know that if you’re going to get paid to play a character, you most likely already have the ability to change your voice across a spectrum anyway. Heck, Just in DBZ Sabat voices Vegeta, Piccolo, and Yamcha!😉
Yeah it's pretty well known common knowledge especially within English dubbed anime. Then you have Seth MacFarlane who voices almost every male in his show so things like that are pretty common too.
Then you got people like Dee Bradely Baker who not only does tons of voices, but can also hundreds of charcaters who cannocly have the same voice but also somehow makes them sound diffrent

You should hear Jackie Earle Haley. He played Rorschach in Watchmen, sounds scarier and gruffer than Christian Bale's Batman voice, but irl he looks & sounds like a nerdy hippie uncle who spends his free time sipping artesian coffee while painting like Bob Ross.
It's amazing how broad this actors range is. He can go from playing a cold, calculating force of evil that could kill you anytime he pleases to a cool cyborg guy.

I've always loved how wide a voice actor's range can be. For example, Mario's voice actor, Charles Martinet, does the voice of Paarthurnax from Skyrim, who sounds absolutely nothing like Mario.
Yeah I almost shit myself laughing when I found that one out. If I remember right Amy Rose from sonic shares a voice actress with Lady Butterfly from Sekiro which feels very wrong.

Jim Cummings is such a good imitator of voices he can step on for anyone. I don't think I ever heard anyone replicate Sterling Holloway's voice as well as he does with his Pooh.

This is the beauty and curse of voice acting. When you’re good at it you can immerse yourself in any role. But nobody can tell that it’s you voicing the character so you don’t receive the recognition you deserve.
Isn't that a great feat in the acting world? Sure, people wouldn't recognize your voice straight away, but having a wide vocal range is the eye-catching thing here. Plus, it's not like there's no credit scene for people to look for their favourite voice actor ( or actor in general )

I think thats a reward in of its self. Look at the bright side. You do your job so well that they are so immersed in the character that they see YOU as that character so much they dont even think about whos behind, just that you are changing someones life and they dont even know your name. That's actually the exact reason why celebrities like The Rock are A list, it's because movie directors want people to go "Oh! I know this person from this other thing!" and make them want to watch it, when you have a person which such a wide range, where people need to post videos showing the VA's clips telling you that they're the same person, you don't have that same recognition. So they aren't as well known, because they are too good at what they do

Very unpopular opinion that I undoubtedly agree with. Chris Diamantopoulis’ Mickey voice is just so damn good, it rejuvenated the character for me.
I really liked that movie. It felt really accurate to what the stooges would do with that time in history's fads.

When I first watched Inside Job, I was hoping towards the end of the pilot that Brett was going to stick around and be a regular.

Don't get me wrong, I love a few good voice actors that are "one trick ponies," but you absolutely HAVE to love a VO with an amazing, virtually unrecognizable range. Phil LaMarr is probably one of my favorites, who voiced both Static Shock and Green Lantern in the old 90's WB cartoons.

Voice actors are a different breed of human
Voice acting isn’t something that is understood main stream. In reality, it’s extremely common for the person behind your favorite childhood character to voice 10+ other characters, no exaggeration LoL. I’m not pretending like I understand, I just know that if you’re going to get paid to play a character, you most likely already have the ability to change your voice across a spectrum anyway. Heck, Just in DBZ Sabat voices Vegeta, Piccolo, and Yamcha!😉
Most people know that actually, it's just fun to compare and contrast the different works, especially when they're so different from each other.
Yeah it's pretty well known common knowledge especially within English dubbed anime. Then you have Seth MacFarlane who voices almost every male in his show so things like that are pretty common too.
