Yessss my boy also does this. He is now 14 months and started walking at 13 months. He never crawled normally, no issues! Once he started walking he never crawled anymore.
Yay, we moved to a big house we were renting and into a smaller house we own. We also have a 3 year old and a nearly 1 year old. So love watching your channel. We seem to be on such a similar life plan.
I’m glad to see so many comments saying their babies also crawl this way! My 10 month old does and was already in physical therapy for other tightness. Our therapist said not to worry but to just help facilitate correct crawling and to stretch out her hips and leg internal rotation
I was surprised you have moved because l thought ld missed a video, turns out l haven't missed any uploads 👍. Congratulations on the new home, hope everyone is settling in, l could see Cashew sitting at the door looking outside so it seems she has found her new spot and settled in nicely. Thankyou for sharing, l dont want to be a "keyboard" health care professional so all lm going to say is that l am glad you are having Oakleys hips and alignment assessed.
Congrats on your new home! I would advise to get him assessed- as loop sided crawl is a sign of muscle hypertension or hypotension. It can be easily corrected by the right therapy/ In Europe (Austria) is taken seriously by the paediatrician Fingers crossed:)
Congratulations.I love your new 🏡 home.May your family make new memories.... Neutrals are the way to go.I moved earlier this year.....and incorporated more neutrals.I was thinking how you decorate your homes.Oakley is so,so cute and handsome,he really loves his mama ❤️Love to see Cashew more🐕
Congratulations on buying a house,it’s beautiful! Now I’m trying to figure out where in my house I can put that wood accent wall you have under the island.
Yay for the new place! I am excited to see the small kitchen organization. I have a small kitchen with an awkward corner cupboard. My kids army crawl and eventually crawl on their hands and knees. My baby is the same velcroed to me. I hope you and your family have a great week!
My son only moved doing the one leg scoot. Never crawled normally no matter how much we tried to show him. Hips and everything were perfectly fine, he never had issues. He just went from that to walking. He was also glued to me and at 2.5 still kind of is. He definitely prefers me over anyone else.
My daughter crawled like that as well. Spoke with the Doctor about it as I was worried as well. Doctor said it was completely normal and don’t worry. My daughter is 4 now and thriving.
If you have the time 😅 pleeeassee share a link for Oakley's cup!!! I need those for my toddler now lol. So jelly of your no-juice house. You never cease to amaze me, you're the best momma!
In the small corner on the other side of the stove, u can put a narrowed standing cabinet/ pantry for more storage. The slim white Billy bookshelf with a door will look nice.
He should be okay as long as a doctor isnt concerned. My 2.5 year old only pulled himself around by his arms. Then switched to walking at 11 months and has never had an issue.
My 2 1/2 year-old son crawled on his hands and knees initially but then he switched to the one legged crawl like Oakley for a couple months and went straight to walking right after at 13 months. Never any problems. Congrats on the new home! 🎉
My son also crawls like this. Someone told me it’s more common for babies that are crawling on hardwood floors. I don’t believe there was any science behind it, but it does make sense! I asked his doctor about it and she didn’t seem concerned. But she did say most babies will crawl on all 4 eventually.
Our first hitch crawled for a few months until she started walking. We were concerned in the beginning. Our paediatrician ordered x-rays to rule out hip dysplasia and thankfully she didn’t have it. He recommended early intervention BUT honestly, she didn’t need it. She is now a great walker, runner and is very physically capable. My father-in-law said my husband also hitch crawled when he started crawling and he has an athletic body (and walks great). My advice is to not worry at all, I know it’s easier said than done. It’s hard not to worry about every little thing when it comes to our children but I think his walking will be perfectly fine.
Can you talk about how to transition your kids to new house/getting them ready for moving? We are going to soon, and I’m so afraid how they will take it..😢
Both mine did that on our hard floors but crawled normally on carpet. Both were early walkers and are totally fine. I think it depends on if they are clearly delayed in other ways or if they are doing it for more traction.
I swear by the magnetic door locks on Amazon. Can’t see them from the outside and you can turn the lock on and off as you need it. Soo good!! Highly recommend
My baby girl crawled like that and was in physical therapy for about 8 months (once a week) before she started walking at 19months. There was nothing really wrong, it was just her own timing. Some kids walk early, some walk late, some talk early, some talk late. My girl was TALKINGGG up a storm so early. 😂 the pediatrician wasn’t worried and PT was super fun for her so we kept up with it. I’m sure your sweet boy is just fine but using your resources is always a great idea ❤❤ excited to see what you do with this new place and congrats on the first home in your name!
I moved like Oakley as a Baby and My Baby Girl did the Same. Never crawlled normally. I wouldnt worry. I am fine 🤪 and My Baby Girl is Fine too, walking and everything now :-) 👍🏻 All the best to you and your family
Nicole, my boys are 17 and 21 but I still love watching your videos! Oakley is so cute and looking more and more like Sage! Loved the expression when you offered the egg!! We have just installed something similar to our kitchen tap (we're in the UK) and the water is so good.
My first crawled like that and she's completely fine! Just went to gymnastics with her (she's a month apart from your daughter) and they said she was super advanced. I always took her to physio for it because I was worried as well but she's thriving and never actually had any issues with it. I'm sure he will be totally fine too. Trust your Mama gut though! :)
Wow i was kinda upset. I needed some prep cause ur previous kitchen was so dreamy. But when i heard you bought your house yourself i was so proud and impressed. Congratulations ❤ sorry but now i get it😂
My daughter does the same thing when we leave her side. I thought we were doing something wrong and that was making her too attached to us. I’m glad it’s not just us!
The day that I'm watching this it's Oakley's birthday so happy birthday!! Also I love how conscious you are about tap water!! 👏👏 You are correct about the chlorine that we absorb in the shower. We have a shower unit that is incredible!! I would love to share! Lmk!
My son will be 2 in less than 2 months. He used to do that 1 leg crawl thing for months and grew out of it. He had seen an amazing chiropractor from when he was a newborn through that crawl thing and he wasn't tight in the hips at all and the chiropractor said he felt good especially his hips the whole time. A wonderful chiropractor could tell foe sure though ❤
Our baby did the tripod crawl, and he's walking and running like a champ now! It didn't seem to negatively affect him at all. My husband was worried he would develop muscle strength unbalanced, but I think it's such a short amount of time before they start walking that his goblin crawl (as we called it) didn't hurt his muscles or coordination! Congratulations on new home!
My now 3.5 year old crawled like this for a long time. He can crawl normally now (tries to teach little sister to crawl), run, jump, climb, gallop without any problems. I did try to position him kneeling on the leg he normally kept in front while playing sometimes and he had equal ROM in both hips.
Oh that’s kind of a shock to see you have moved again! I always had a feeling you’ve put so much heart into decorating the previous house and it could not have been cheap either - it feels like you were pretty settled there. Did you know you were going to downsize? So many lovely pieces of furniture that won’t fit the new setting… I’m very happy for your new journey and can’t wait for the small space tips and tricks, living in a 2-bed flat with a toddler myself. But kind of gutted as I just loved how you arranged your previous house and loved the space - how do you feel about downsizing? And agreed - owning less genuinely is great for mental health, decluttering was the best thing I have ever done. Hope you’re ok and can’t wait for more content from your new place! Enjoy the new chapter with your gorgeous family
Its all part of our journey and I'm excited for this new chapter and what we're working towards. It's okay to make sacrifices or change things up short term to work towards a future long term goal. Also we brought over most of our furniture except for our table and a buffet which our just in storage until we have a place that fits them. All our rooms actually look pretty much the same which has been easy for the kids to transition. Sage has traveled a lot in her life and she loves an adventure so its been a great change for all of us. There's def some challenges when downsizing but its all really materialistic.
@ yes absolutely, couldn’t agree more! I guess we just had no idea that was happening in the background, but we probably have no idea about the 99% of stuff happening in the background haha. It’s so kind of you to let us in your journey, we’re excited for you and with you! Can’t wait to see how you’ve settled into this new place 🩷
My girl did that. I realized she did it on hardwood because it was faster for her to move. And did the traditional crawl on carpet. So it ruled out any physical issues since I could see it was just preference. She just needed to get where she wanted to the fastest way! See if it's the same for you.
my 3 year old used to crawl like that and he's fine, he started to walk around 13 month. The first time I saw Oakley crawl like that I was like hey it's the same like my son. Never thought it could be a problem lol
My now 3 year old did the same crawl, and now my just turned 10 month old is doing the same thing! I never got it assessed, but he walked fine. My girl is also standing by herself, so I think she’s fine. Buttttt now listening to you, it makes me feel like I should get her assessed just in case! I love you and your family btw!! Sometimes I feel like we’re the same person 🤣
Yep ditto! My oldest crawled like that and for a bit her Pediatrician recommended walking behind her and pulling her leg back to try to straighten that leg to crawl the "normal" way. But walking behind her 24/7 wasn't an option so we just let it happen. She has no alignment issues and no issues once she started walking.
Our 9 month old does a mix of the tripod crawl and standard crawling, she had hip dysplasia when she was 6 weeks old and a pavlik harness for a while and everything is all good now but I'm not sure if it's linked, definitely have a physio look into it if you have any concerns. Also, congrats on the new house, love the updates and the renos!
Was that a sheet of decorative wood that you used on the cabinet behind you under the counter top? What did you order for that? I need to do something in our kitchen and was looking at beadboard
Congrats on the new house! You seem to have such a good attitude and positive outlook about downsizing to a smaller place. We bought a house this summer and it’s in our dream neighbourhood, we love the location and can’t believe we live here, but with how crazy the market was we did have to downsize from the house we were renting before. Since moving I’ve been in such a negative mindset and am having a hard time adjusting. I especially miss having more space for hosting. We have long term plans to renovate and make the house work better for us but any major renos won’t happen for several years. Any tips on how you stay positive would be great! I am just so bad with change and really struggle everytime we move.
My 1st baby had different stage of crawling (army crawl, mix of army and tripod crawl, and real crawl for like 1 week just before he started to walk) 😅
My 17 month old crawled just like that! Took him to physical therapy and honestly it didn’t do much. It was a half hour session once a week so it was really on me to help him crawl normally at home. He eventually started walking and is perfectly fine. Doesn’t matter too much how they crawl since they do it for such a short time anyway. But I feel you with getting him assessed because I was the same, it’s a mom thing 🫶🏼 do it for your peace of mind. 🤍
My daughter is 13 months and she does the tripod crawl as well. She will have a snack or toy in my hand and will want to crawl somewhere and does the same thing.
There is something so refreshing about seeing someone who is an influencer buy a house that is not a 10000sq ft mega mansion and everything is white and marble- yes it’s beautiful, but it’s totally out of touch with the audience. I know you and Matt are successful so I am sure that you could’ve purchased a mega mansion, but I think this is a really good real life lesson that we need to smart choices about our money. Less is more!
I remember thinking my son was dripping to 1 nap around his first birthday but it was just a teething disruption. Once the teeth came in he was happily back to 2 naps daily. And now at almost 17 months he is starting to seem ready. I would see how he’s doing after the tooth. 😄
Daylight savings is for the people that live further and further from the equator. It’s so that they have some daylight during their days that are increasingly becoming shorter. I Love filtered water!!! Also tap doesn’t just taste gross it smells gross!!!
I would love small space organization videos! We also live in a small space and always looking for a refresh! Congratulations on your new home purchase! 🏡 🎉❤
Hey Nicole, wondering why you choose to not move back into your other house (the one u guys lived in with sage when she was born) and just kick those renters out ? Just curious
As someone who rents out property, why would they want to lose that income? It's an investment property. Silly thing to do these days considering how expensive the housing market is. They made a smart move.
@ I also rent out property. Your stance makes sense if you can afford something of reasonable size for yourself but in this case it seems they’re living in something way too small for them.
@ also if the housing market is that expensive then it would make even more sense to do what I said- as they purchased that rental property before the boom and living in it would prevent them from having to have bought a home during the boom.
@@juliapallante1815 yes they are living in something small right now and they have acknowledged that but they are working towards a bigger goal so they are okay with making this sacrifice 😊
@@juliapallante1815 just because the housing market is expensive does it mean that they can't afford something bigger. For all we know they could be looking to buy a piece of land and building their own custom home ❤️
My son (18 months now) was a koala baby too at that age. He is now ok to be in the same vicinity, but sometimes wants to see what I’m doing. It’s cute and tough. The emotional conflict is real haha
My first born did one foot, one knee then weirdly once she walked it she crawled she’d crawl normally 🤷🏼♀️ but anyway her hips were fine I also got checked x
another thing to keep an eye on it the w-sitting. It can be a sign of neurodivergence and impacts core development. I always redirect kids to sit criss cross applesauce. :)

I can’t believe you moved, I loved your other house. 🤩
Could you please do a house tour of your new place?
Yessss my boy also does this. He is now 14 months and started walking at 13 months. He never crawled normally, no issues! Once he started walking he never crawled anymore.
I’m excited to see all the organization! I have a small kitchen too so I’ll take any tips and tricks. Congratulations on your new house 🩷
Stay tuned! I’m so excited to get into it
My son also crawled that way. Never had any issues.

Would love to see a tour of the new house and a before and after of the reno.
Look forward to a house tour and the small kitchen hack video. :) And Oakley is soo sweet.
Love the fluted design under the counter! Congratulations 🥰 can’t wait for all the house themed and organization videos!

Same. He went right to walking after that tripod crawl. Whatever you think is best
You may want to have him adjusted by a pediatric chiropractor
Tap water is disgusting
Same with my 3 year old, and now my 10 month old is the doing the same crawl!
My baby did this. I found a pediatric chiropractor and she helped us tremendously. We also did some physical therapy.

Thanks so much!

My son is 1 years also and he also crawled like that just before he started walking. His also sooo attached to me separation anxiety is real.
My eight month old crawls like that! I had never seen it before, but it really cracks me up
My baby girl crawled like that and was in physical therapy for about 8 months (once a week) before she started walking at 19months. There was nothing really wrong, it was just her own timing. The Tushbaby hip seat is perfect for Velcro babies!
You’re doing a great job mama and it’s so fun seeing your babies grow on this channel 😊
Wow i was kinda upset. I needed some prep cause ur previous kitchen was so dreamy. But when i heard you bought your house yourself i was so proud and impressed. Congratulations ❤ sorry but now i get it😂
My son only crawled that way. He only did it for a couple months and then started walking. He is three now and has no issues! ❤

His crawl is perfectly fine. I personally think it helps them walk easier as well. Mom of 3.
Our baby did the tripod crawl, and he's walking and running like a champ now! It didn't seem to negatively affect him at all. What cup is Oakley drinking out of?! Super cute!!!

Thank you ☺️
I think they’re fine crawling like that as long as it’s just a natural movement for them
Me never crawled at the right place I'm sure you can get Oakley assessed and that will surely help.
My son crawled like that, never crawled the “normal” way. We called him “Scooter Boy.” Then one day he was walking. No issues at all.
Me too! The doctor that saw mine wanted to strap him down in a hospital. 😳 I tried to run to Canada with him.😮 He walked a few months after that.

Hope you are well! Can’t believe Oakley is one! I like his deviled egg rejection! 😅
What's his little water bottle?! So cute!!

Interesting! I could live without it 😅 it just makes us struggle twice a year. And yes agreed it’s all around just 😝
But daylight saving doesn’t make you more sunlight during the day just change the “time” when the sun comes up and goes down.
Where are those shelves in your kitchen from?😍
Hi which vitamins do you take daily ??
Please go and check baby hip seat carrier like Tushbaby. It’s a game changer!
Hi! I’d love to know how you like your our place oven???
My son crawled the exact the same way and he is just fine. 😊
I would love small space organization videos! We also live in a small space and always looking for a refresh! Congratulations on your new home purchase! 🏡 🎉❤
Thank you! Will do!
My daughter did that crawl for like 5 months, then crawled normal. She would only crawl normal during time is she was on grass or carpet
Hey girl! Where is your cute white t-shirt from 😍?
My son did that. We called it the scoot😂. He's 19 now and a big strong boy
aw haha so cute
Why did you guys moved?
Where are the drinking glasses and the white vase from? ❤
Yes, I’d like to know as well. Thank you!
another thing to keep an eye on it the w-sitting. It can be a sign of neurodivergence and impacts core development. I always redirect kids to sit criss cross applesauce. :)
Are you still living in Ontario?
At least you don’t have to hear that crazy neighbor screaming at 5am anymore 😂
I don't have any other social but YT! What did you get sagey!?!?
