No, this is simply placebo. I always argue with my mom over this. If you're sick/ having the virus, wearing mask can protect other from catching the virus. But it conversely does not protect you much if someone around you is spreading the virus and not wearing a mask.
I guess the mask mostly protects you from personally transmitting it to others, but it wouldn't aid as much if the sick party isn't wearing a mask on their own anyway...

During that time 29 march 2022 when we no longer had to wear masks outdoors but indoors had to wear. I took it off whenever i went for a walk to the park or sitting near the guesthouse reading books but when i had to go out to buy groceries, to school ,visit family friends far from home ,go to supermarkets or shopping mall i still put on my mask after i left house. When indoor masks requirement was removed, i still wore my masks indoors and removed it outdoors sometimes to feel safe . Finally on public transport the mask mandate was Lifted. i was extremely looking forward to this milestone. But still I wear my masks in indoor settings and no longer wear the masks outdoors except on crowded places.since march 2023
