    Just wanted to say your ways of teaching and explaining basics is outstanding. You probably teach far more clearly than more than the majority. I have since various videos posted and you are far beyond better and clearer. I wish I had a teacher like you.
    bless you.

    Thank you so much for this. It is the first time I understand why we do placement, that signing in front of yourself is about yourself ! and how you use your own body to talk about a physical attribute, but point to the person whose attribute it is afterwards - once again, thank you

    I've been looking at lots of different sign language videos and you explained it the clearest! Thank you!

    This was so helpful, thank you. I'm nearing the end of my level 2 course, and the things you're describing are ones I've struggled with for ages. My teacher is deaf, and I'm hearing, and often find that these kind of concepts are very tricky to get across.

    Thank you. This is really helpful. You sign very clearly too. I am studying towards level 1 and maybe I could do with watching you a few more times to be able to put in practice what uou explain. Thanks a lot.

    How do tenses work in BSL? What are the signs for 'finish' doing something and that you 'will' do something?

    I have looked all over and your videos and some of the best,
    As you explain word order and why you sign after certain signs, which is perfect for absolute beginners like me!!

    Great video,but question,do you point only if they are actually there whilst you describing them??

    • @Ruthavecflute
      @Ruthavecflute 4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      No, you point to establish where you are pretending that person / object is so you can refer to them again easily.

    Where did you learn your sign language and how long does it take? As I really want to learn and perhaps become in time a translator for the deaf xx

    Why do signers make blowing noises with certain signs? The noise doesn't seem to mean anything to me.

    • @davidgodfrey4829
      @davidgodfrey4829 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      The blowing noises indicate the amount of something so if someone has long hair, you would sign long hair and blow your cheeks if it's very long hair!!

    If level 1 is intended for complete beginers it is too fast and lacks repetition.

    Really confusing using BSL and English simultaneously, as the grammars are very different.

  • @moodini99
    @moodini99 8 ปีที่แล้ว +3

    Really unhelpful using SSE during this video. BSL grammar is as important as the lexicon itself; not a great idea using English grammar with BSL signs.
