Who didnt want an rs250 2 stroke when they were younger? Every boys dream, i used to look at them on ebay and bike trader every night when i was 15/16 lmao
You are such a great pilot ! A mouse again a cat,but ...I was on Your side ! Congratulations and will always admire the to two strock engines ! You are hero representing us two stroke fans !
The GSX-R’s line going into that corner was way too high and the Aprilia was just about to pass, having taken the correct line. The guy on the GSX-R, not wanting a vastly underpowered competitor to pass him, wrenched the throttle way before the bike stood up. Gotta ease into and off of that first and last 5%, the brake and throttle too! Dude shoulda just let the Aprilia pass him, he would’ve gotten him back on the next upshift with all of the extra power he had. Also very telling that a 250 was running right there with a 600. 30 seconds off the straights and the Aprilia was right up the GSX-R’s ass the entire time. Good show! 👏
Anyone who knows about bikes and was told they were battling with a RS250 will immediately know it was being done in the bends. It’s where I did most of my battles with the bigger boys. Pity the 600 high sided but he went in too fast and just run out of grip on the lean over trying to keep position. Shit happens..
Ouch indeed!!! I hope the guy was okay. I was willing you on all the way around there! I used to have a TDR250 and my friends had the TZR250, RGV250 and RD350ypvs... Such epic, fun bikes!
hee hee hee still doing this today on my "little" rs 250 honda, quarter the size, quarter the weight & ifn you know how to ride you can stay with the big bikes, sometimes embarrassing them cos most don't know how to ride one, makes me love trackdays. from uk 🏴☠️
That should not have been to bad as it was a low angle when he hit the ground so more of a slide, there is always that risk when trying to get the power on sooner or harder which makes me think this was a forced error as the gxer had shown him a wheel so the RS rider tried harder to keep in front.
The Gixr rider is a good friend if mine. He's ok. It was definitely a forced error he said he didn't know I was behind him until I almost overtook him on turn 1, you can see it in the video. From there he pushing harder.
@@grantfoster8833 Don't know why this came up again in my recommended channel but yes I did swap these two round when I was typing and I did not catch it maybe I was tired or drunk lol.
Looks to me like GSXR guy was out on the marbles. Back on the gas well before the apex which pushed him a little wide and he started rolling on while on the marbles. I've done it but luckily it didn't get too sideways and I was able to save it by smashing my face on the windscreen. I even got it on video :)
Why do you run beyond 11k? The 70V is very peaky and gets frisky between 10 and 11 then it falls of a cliff, 12k is pointless, sounds ok but going nowhere. And how long will your pistons last, they must be going way beyond 4,000m/sec.. Break up time. It's such a nice rare bike, care for it ok?
Thanks for the info. A lot of time went into the build and rev limit was considered. It still pulls hard up to 12k then feels like it's hit a wall at even 100rpm over that. 11k isn't enough to maintain the bike in powerband through gear changes so that extra 1000rpm is critical to maintaining power. It is a nice bike, I love riding it, so much fun! Holds itself together with the bigger bikes too!
Pretty sure he just pushed to hard. He got adjustable footrests track setup, the bike in general look like a homemade track bike, but i think it's regular low profil sport street tires, so he was to far down and lost grip. Need those full-on race slicks to get that low :P With sports street tires the original footrest is "tuned" for the max angle of the bike, so you can feel the road grinding against the footrest "spikes" at your max angle, unlike adjustable footrests especially in track setup (back and up for most people) At slower/regular models the footrest spikes is often adjusted for max angle before hitting exhaust, engine and so on, as their designe is significantly different
did anybody explained what are the lines to the SUZUKI rider? not for the sake of going faster, but being safer. When going to the track u have to be safe for yourself and others. Once u got that, then there is not harm to anyone if he wants to go slower. I've personally crashed 2 or 3 times due to other riders picking wrong lines and coming back without considering who might follow.
If you are racing, you have a point. On a trackday, only overtake where the other guy can not close the door. It's not a race. Of course in the seriously fast group one thinks the others know what they are doing and many are racers. But there is no prize at stake.
Beh! E' chiaro che il 600 resta davanti solo per il motore, infatti in curva il pilota della 250, stacca dopo ed ha una percorrenza più veloce in curva. Bravo pilota RS 250 👏
Nice one Fernando, back in the mid 1990's I rode a race prepared 70bhp RGV250 in the Supersport 400 class in the UK, the bike was well fast however a good friend of mine and road racer at the Snetterton meeting offered me a chance of a few laps on his race prepared 90bhp TZ250 in practice (he told me to be careful), the bike was frightening it was as light as a feather, handled like a dream, leapt out of your hands in the first 3 gears and could keep up with anything and I mean anything down the three-quarter mile back straight (nothing could leave it, no 750, no 1000, nothing), what an experience the TZ was manic, what a bike I'd never experience anything like it before or since, the human brain simply cannot process fast enough on a ultra-light 90bhp race prepared Yamaha two-stroke. George C.
It made an impression you wont forget, right? I have yet to get my world rocked I have an old 350 ypvs that I'm building up with all the TZ350 parts that I can afford and fit to it.- I know Iknow it wont be the same as a pure blood but it ll be fun to see what kind of madness can a boy and his dream conconct.
Oh that sucked...just could the edge of that pavement patch he went right off the corner an the edge...of it...yes hope hes okay...thank great video...its still an always nice to here the 2 stroke...i just got rid of a Birel Rotax watercooled TAG senior 100 mile an hour 125 cc 2 stroke it was sick fast ...it dont move till 5000 rpm an then it goes yippie kayay mode at 6000 to 12600 rpm....phyco just what retire moto gp rider needs...hah ha...thanks 2 stroke forever

Incredible that the RS250 is still relevant even today. What a machine.
Beast
Of course, and I think the 250's rider was not at the best piloting.
In UK we called them and KR1S 1/4 Litre Cosworth Eaters!
Bro... it s the most fun bike I ever owned, thr only downside to it is that i have to rebuild the engine two times a year
@@palard9076 best bike ever. I still have it
Its incredible that a 250 from the 90's can almost keep pace with a 600
2 STROKE FOREVER!!!
I totally agree Rudy.

I wanted the Chesterfield so bad I could have wept.
I wanted RGV 250. Still do, never had one.
Watching these 600 riders pass the 250 on the straights just to get hard passed again on the outside of the next corner gets me every time
Respect to both riders. Battling hard! 2of my favorite bikes doing the business.

Hope this guy is fine, shame you couldn't fight any longer. But one lesson though for him : "Don't mess with 2-strokes !" ;)
RS, NSR, RGV, and TZR all awesome big time
Hope he’s ok there. Was a great friendly race and you don’t wish harm to anyone.
Long live the RS for giving it stick.
Both Suzuki motors!
Isnt it a rotax in the Rs? Atleast my rs 125 has an engine made by rotax

Balls of steel lads both of you fair play.
Thing is no joke on a small track.

Brilliant track, great couple of bikes! Hope the gixa rider is ok after that! Two brilliant machines!
That was a great scrap up until it all went wrong. Love the satisfaction of taking on bigger bikes. Most of all though, hope the dude was OK!
I think that counts as a win
Poor guy he put up one hell of a battle I hope he didn’t get badly injured
I prefer triples in the old days. Hope that dudes all right that's a big price we pay for being motorcycle racers no room for error
that ending tho. 😱
That gixer shifts in a straight line though.
