Japanese Beetle trap, Garlic pull and garden tour

Japanese beetles eat so many leaves off the plum tree - they leave them looking like lace, eating all the juicy parts. They also go straight for the rose of sharon flowers when they come out over the next couple of weeks,
Let's see how this popular trap works. The good thing is that the chickens love the beetles!

Watch out that purple butterly bush grows up to 6 ft ...if not prunned goes out of control, the seeds gets everywhere and its a fast growing one...I have them in the last house we live in, and based on my experience beside a sidewalk or walkway are not the best places for it, if any it will add more work to your garden keeping list. If you can Place it in a spot, it can grow to all its splendor, they come in pink and white too... they are a must in a butterfly garden.

Thank you for the info! I'll keep it trimmed so we are still able to see the other flowers around it.
I found the same with the rose of sharon - seedlings everywhere and if you don't pull as they start it's harder with their little tap roots.
