Many people never fully overcome the egocentric stage.

Great and educational video! I was confused on the concept of schema and your explanation definitely helped.

You are such an awesome educator! I was multitasking and not really paying attention to your video, but every concept that you explained sticked to my mind.

Beautifully introduce the Jean Piaget Cognitive Theory systematically. Schema -> assimilation -> accommodation. Then 4 stages of knowledge acquisition processes. SPCF -> (SPeCial Force) Sensory Motor, Pre Operational, Concrete Operational and Formal Operational.

Great, clear and informative video. Scientists have continued Piaget's theory of cognitive development into stage called postformal operational stage. It's like formal operational stage, but with deeper thinking. A person in postformal operational stage can reflect their own thinking, question their own and other's schemas, and develop a deeper understanding of their own mind and things around them. Not all reach this stage of thinking, which is related to scientific thinking.

There must be an additional stage called Post Formal Operational Stage where a person in postformal operational stage can reflect their own thinking, question their own and other's schemas, and develop a deeper understanding of their own mind and things around them.

The only problem with your videos is that there are not enough of them! I teach psychology and my sister got me the Pink Freud shirt... I think we saw it here first! Been using your videos in class for years now!

I think this is your first non root beer commercial youtube video. The moment at the end of the credits where Nathan Simmon's pulled up his dress was a bit awkward. He seemed to have even shaved his legs! Watch it all the way through guys!

(5 years later mind you) 2 isn't a random squiggly line, it has 2 angles. Same with the original "open cup" #4, it has 4 angles. The numbers themselves have equivalent angles etc. (Not the modern curved style numbers, like 8. It would be 2 diamonds rather than circles). Recently discovered this, would be wrong not to share.

thanks a lot, for the first time I truly understood psychology... I am a medical doctor pursuing a degree in psychology, I must say its been interesting as I'm beginning to see things differently, however, I have a question and hopefully I'll get the necessary help here, was asked to use Piaget's theory to explain Alexis in age 7 in America(I'm sure you've watched it or heard about it). though I've watched it and have read stages of cognitive development, still don't get it. PLEASE HELP!!!

Piaget based his theories on all of mankind strictly on observing his own kids. Not the neighbor's kids, not the kid's in other communities, countries, or other socioeconomic backgrounds. Nope. Everyone MUST be strictly like the kids he sired.
Waa-Waaaaaahhhhh. Oddly enough - he didn't even LIKE children.
