Real hiphop isn't dead! Just because it doesn't win Grammy's doesn't mean shit. In the beginning hiphop was a way to give people in the streets a voice, it was never meant to control airwaves.
Another Common classic. This song introduced me to Vince Staples. Next I heard on Stolen Youth. This young cat is on his way to legend status. But I could never agree with that 90's being overrated comment. That era changed the game forever.
This has been such a beautiful song and still hits the heart. The instrumental. The intro story. The weight of the lyrics. Man it’s probably top 10 favorite songs of all time for me. Underrated imo
The lyrival imagery of a toddler playing with an empty revolver is reall powerful. That line always stops me in my tracks. Makes me think, makes me wanna understand people better.
All praise and glory to Abba YAHUWAH Most High who sent his only begotten son Yahushua Ha'Mashiach to free us from the bondage of sin! HalleliYahushua! HalleliYahuwah! HalleluYaH!
No one can tell me that Hype Williams isn’t one of the greatest directors that’s ever held a camera. People try to diminish his contributions because he’s largely directed music videos, but his videos are more well composed in terms of cinematography than most films. He’s managed to make the most raw and basic things look stunning simply by framing them and lighting them properly. This video is as much of a work of art as his impeccable Micheal and Janet Jackson video for Scream, where that video was polished to perfection, this is filled with texture and grit, and the results are still top tier. The budgets Hype Williams gets in many cases exceed even current indie film budgets, and it makes sense due to his incredible output. That being said, despite what critics have said about Belly as a film, it’s visually stunning on so many levels. Every frame featuring an iconic rapper looks larger than life in terms of composition and color grading. Having seen this video several times, it fits the lyrics perfectly. Hype Williams has contributed so heavily to the iconic history of some of the greatest Hip Hop artists that the way we remember them is also partially tied to his camera work.
Love what this video portrays... While other rappers rap about girls and partying. And girls rapperz rap about their bodies and partying. Common is still rapping about real life.. This is raw material... #inspired #common #favoriterapper #staytrue
Most underrated MC,his videos barely reach 5 million views. The nigga's been at it for like 2 decades now,and might I add that he's been consistent while doing it. Comm is a necessity to the rap culture.
Candy Rain he didn't say he sounds like him. He said that Vince has a similar STYLE to what of Big Sean's. They Rap how the talk. Meaning that when they rap, they sound like they're just talking. Read the Comment properly before commenting on it.
M. Yousaf Hussain You could say that about a whole bunch of rappers because thats what rap is to some people: basically talking. Vince and Big Sean have two way different styles of music
Both kanye and NO ID produce killer Common albums. Pharrell's Universal Mind Control didn't really pop off on a real tip. But i trust Com's collaborators in general. And i definitely trust NO ID.
Makes me proud of the little corner of hip hop Chicago has carved out for itself. Love the rawness of how everything was captured, that nasty room shorty was laid up in, the south side and the weather.
First I wanna say that this is a great track from the lyrics, the beat, the sample everything in sync. This proves that good hip hop is still around it's just not at the forefront. Salute to common on this masterpiece but who is that on the intro with the spoken word lyrics??? that was dope real powerful words
Vince staples is such a talented up and comer im so stoked he got the opportunity to be on a song with a legen like common. This song cold, so so cold... Damn i love hip hop so much
about time somebody made a vid i can watch dats not about niggas poppn bottles...dats not real life 4 most...shout out to common hype and my lil nigga vince...good look for good music!!
I love this song and the way this video is shot. It's so amazing to hear real Hip-Hop prevailing. This song is timeless and relevant to what is going on today.
This song to me is the revolution anthem for ALL struggles of this global age we're forced to live in HEAD BANGER, KEEP BANGING THROUGH PRAYER N HOPE AMEN
Common sense yes I still call him Common sense I grew up on his music and I tell u he doesn't miss a step still keepin hip hop elements tight. Vince staples sound kool for a young cat!
I LOVE THIS... funny note... every time in chorus when they say "We all say"... it sounds like they saying "Bee-yon-say"... LoL... Common rules... and I am very proud of Vince... he's gonna be a valuable young rapper if he keeps it like this... and from his mixtape... it appears there may be hope for real Hip-Hop...
Hype Williams did it again with the visuals making a regular day in the life look larger than life

soulaiman agalf I usually dig Common, but his flow was not in sync with beat on this track, which makes it unbearable to listen to...
Not at all... iM already taken from the first one
Xzodia Unltd That's cool. your experience is different then
John Doe No i actually thought the album was dissapointing as fuck.
This rap song has a strong meaning and message.
Another Common classic. This song introduced me to Vince Staples. Next I heard on Stolen Youth. This young cat is on his way to legend status. But I could never agree with that 90's being overrated comment. That era changed the game forever.
He just likes to say crazy shit to stir ppl up .

Most underrated MC,his videos barely reach 5 million views. The nigga's been at it for like 2 decades now,and might I add that he's been consistent while doing it. Comm is a necessity to the rap culture.

Vince Staples is Top 5...He has that Big Sean style voice....Like they rap how they talk
He sounds nothing like Big Sean
Candy Rain he didn't say he sounds like him. He said that Vince has a similar STYLE to what of Big Sean's. They Rap how the talk. Meaning that when they rap, they sound like they're just talking.
Read the Comment properly before commenting on it.
