I’m in Missouri , we got 13 inches of snow a few weeks ago . We have all the plows , salt trucks etc and our post offices were down for four days , I can’t imagine how long you guys will be down

When we get cold weather we have all of the winter wear. I was in Texas when I was young and it took me forever to get used to the cold, but the slightest bad weather stopped everything. I am curious how the roadcrews clean up snow when it isn't normal for you guys. I went out yesterday and it felt downright balmy at around 18 degrees. Which was up from the teens below before winchill. You two stay warm and safe. Thanks for sharing!
It's the unforeseen events like weather, health, etc., that is why I allow myself three days to ship, although in practice I always aim to ship within 24 hours (not counting weekends and holidays, although I will often ship on Saturday mornings, weather permitting). Btw, it's cold here in central Florida, too. I've been complaining about it a lot, lol. I don't mind a brief cold snap now and then, but this front really set in for the long haul like a guest who outstayed their welcome.

A few years ago we had over 4 feet of snow on Christmas Eve (Western NY) and I was "trapped" for about a week. We have something called lake effect snow where one area will get feet of snow and a mile away will get inches. Even though the post office was open I couldn't get to it. I messaged the buyers like you did and everyone was so understanding. Ebay was also good and I didn't get any dings. Stay warm and safe.
I have lived in northern part of lower Michigan for most of my life - was born here. We experience extreme cold and then extreme humidity and heat. We don't have an air conditioner. When it is 100 degrees and 97% humidity for example - I can empathize you for the heat we may deal with for days in a row LIKE you are now dealing with the winter weather that is more our normal. We did see -20 here wind chills and our son who lives 6 hours even further north (along the Lake Superior Shore line) saw even colder temps and white out conditions. At least we didn't see the -40 to -58 some of our family and friends have been seeing! I see that eBay has protections in place for you in the south.
damn that's a lot! the double whammy and up north central/east? wichita here, we got 9 over both storms, it's not abnormal for us to get up to 6 inches but once you hit a foot that's pretty notable, let alone nearly two!
When snow and Jimmy Carters passing hit, eBay changed my handling time automatically to accommodate. Hopefully a snow storm of this magnitude would be handled similarly.

We did have mail pick up yesterday but because we have a long driveway, I couldn't get out to the mailbox. Ebay did send a message to my buyers that mail was delayed by the snow storm. When we do have customers that purchase multiple items, and we have other orders as well, I have to print the labels for the single sold items first before eBay allows me to combine the other Items. Now my concern is that if we have several different customers that purchase multiple items how would you direct someone on how to go about that situation? I hope I explained my question well enough to understand. Thank you for any explanation you can get out to me.

We don't get the same snow we used to but when I was a kid all of us that were waiting for the school bus would wake up earlier than normal and we would all together build snowballs as tall as the hood of the school bus and shove two or three of those into the street thinking we could block the bus. Seriously they were as tall as the hood of a school bus. It took five or six of us to roll one around at that size.

Didn't see anything online and they didn't have a notice on the door. Of course I should have called first. Sent my ebay messages as soon as I got back and everyone has responded with support.

Just to joke I always get a good chuckle out of southerners when the snow comes. Sounds like a normal day in Northwest Pennsylvania. We had about 4 ft of snow in a day and a half around Thanksgiving (but that was also once a couple year storm). We get to enjoy snow on the ground most of the winter and driving on it isn't bad. You get used to it pretty fast when you are always driving in it. Nothing really closes down except if the temperature is extremely cold. Never really for snowstorms, unless the storm I just talked about. I think we are closing in on 100 inches of snow for the season. I understand though when you don't have the equipment to deal with it. Stay safe ... although donuts in the snow can be fun!!

We see them spinning out, with their vehicles facing the wrong way, on the on highway on ramps regularity, since we live in a Navy town and the base has all kinds of folks from all over the country. Back in the 70s, while I was stationed in Connecticut, we had Iranian sub sailers being trained on base and had to push them out of the snow drifts daily. They were spending their pay checks on muscle cars and vans, but had not a clue about driving on the iced over roads. 😉
