But if RNG gives your opponent Radical then you would only be able to get 12 using Steady strategy. The difference is huge! Opponent chooses Radical: If we choose Radical, our profit: (1000-200)*15 + 5000 = 17000 If we choose Steady, our profit: (1000-100)*12 + 2000 = 11000 Opponent chooses Steady: If we choose Radical, our profit: (1000-200)*18 + 5000 = 19400 If we choose Steady, our profit: (1000-100)*15 + 2000 = 15500 Opponent chooses Conservative: If we choose Radical, our profit: (1000-200)*18 + 5000 = 19400 If we choose Steady, our profit: (1000-100)*18 + 5000 = 21200 Steady is only better in the last scenario and not even by much.

I think I'm having issues with difficult english/business phrases and everytime i try to click snowsant's dialogue, it skipped so i missed what was being explained. The event interface is also too stylized and I'm having trouble telling apart the background, clickable options, and clicks to advance to the next part. Confusing. But thank you for the explanation.
You don't have to undercut by 1, just keep lowering the price until the amount you sell matches the amount you have. Like for drink you could have sold it for 48

Hey Eckogen, quick question since the tutorial did say this, our sxout attempts from the 2nd day onward is going to be 4 per day until we receive some sort of scouting upgrade so what should I prioritize scouting those 4 attempts on in your opinion?
I guess in that situation, focus on Food and Drink since I’m pretty sure they would always have more customers than Gift. Having more customers yield more profit over having the product cost more.

Might as well spend 2 “ask” to know the exact number of customers, unless the lowest estimate number of customers is already over the number of item you have in stock (which is unlikely) than you don’t need to ask a second time.
My guess is that since they don’t sell for much (or have as much customers) compare to food and drink, you only need to get enough to match the other seller. Not too much where you over spend, and not too few resulting in the other seller taking more customers and profit.

You probably messed up somewhere and either have fewer product in stock or less customers than the other seller.

(Still better than picking the other two options) Due to this, when you undercut the lowest seller to receive more customers, you didn’t have enough product to sell and didn’t get the full benefit compare to the seller you are under cutting. Since even if they are receiving fewer customers then you, they are probably still selling the to same amount of customers due to the same number of product while costing 1$ more than you, forcing you to 2nd place.

Selling above would make you have fewer customers, and at the same amount would result having an equal split number of customers. For example (Food/Drink): There are 540 customers. The one selling at the highest for $253 have 120 customers (2/9 of 540), the one at the middle selling for $248 have 180 customers (3/9 of 540), while the lowest seller for $247 have 240 customers (4/9 of 540). 120 x $253 = $30,360 180 x $248 = $44,640 240 x $247 = $59,280 If you are forced to put it at the same cost as lowest seller, the split would look like this: 108 x $253 = $27,324 216 x $248 = $53,568 216 x $248 = $53,568 Which make the one selling for $253 having only 1/5 of the 540 customer, while the other two having 2/5 of the 540 customer. Meanwhile for Gift, I’m assuming since there are usually fewer customers, Gift have lower priority compare to Food and Drink.
While that is low, you should be able to catch up as long as you don’t keep getting that amount. At least 25k per day throughout the event will get you everything. More will get it done faster.

Your number of sales was probably too low since you didn't buy enough products. Just scout for food and drink when selling.
