We found SNOW in December! - Great Alpine Road, Part 1 - Episode 16

WHO WOULD OF THOUGHT WE'D FIND SNOW IN DECEMBER!
We are in Victoria! We left Cann River to explore more of East Gippsland and start the Great Alpine Road and wow, just wow! This has got to be one of our most favourite drives we have done so far and I can't believe we managed to find snow, its crazy! We loved visiting Dinner Plain again and staying at free camps along the way.

Mountain weather can be insanely variable. I drove the Alpine way a few years ago in summer to avoid the snow and encountered whiteout conditions over Mt Hotham that I could only navigate through a combination of the fluoro snow markers, GPS navigation and occasionally opening my car door to check I was still on the road.

Wow that’s crazy, it can change so quickly. We absolutely love the drive through Mount Hotham, one of the best scenic views!
