The Chalice from the Palace and the vessel with the pestle....Those were most memorable.
I wish there was a way to do the whole routine without getting a copyright strike!
The terms, the terms, he does accept the terms🎹🎺
I always liked the one where the princess is threatening to jump of he's killed and when they still threatened to execute him, he's like "she'll jump!"
Yes that is a good one!
My favorite lines/scenes from the court jester are from beginning to end.
I only made a top 10 not a top 100!!
:)
I can't believe they didn't mention the 'poison in the cup' routine 🤷♂️
@@ChattingwithMarkStiseyou could easily make a top-100. It is a great comedy.
I did not think of that!
@@LuisGonzalez-px5uk It was to long to put in!
The " yeah, verily, yeah" as it gets faster. Always makes me laugh!
I love when he spits out the wine!
Get it?
Got it.
Good.
Wasn't it just awesome about the Duckess
Can’t believe you forgot “with your permission your highness, I’d like to go around again” - that’s always been one of my favorites 😂
OMG I did forget that one!!!
Sorry!!
Which one was that? Can you please describe? I haven't watched the movie in english.
One of the greatest comedies ever written and performed!
Even the opening credits and lyrics are cleverly presented.
That's right I forgot about the opening scene that Danny Kaye did
The Breckenridge Curse dialogue is pure mastery of presentation
LOL
I know what a way to turn the tables on an overgrown sex fiend
@@ChattingwithMarkStise Yeah, that is one of the special gems which people overlook when they talk about this movie. Cecil Parker's portrayal of the King is one of the essential elements which makes this movie such a masterpiece.
When my son was young, I would drive him to school, and we would review any events that were upcoming:
Me: "Remember baseball practice at 5. Get it?"
Son: "Got it"
Me: "Good!"
Fond memories from a simpler time. Thanks for putting this collection together.
You are very very welcome
This movie is timeless. For one thing, simply look at the incomparably strong truly ALL-STAR cast!
I find it amazing that people don't realize Angela Lansbury is in it!
😆 How anybody said these lines with a straight face is beyond me.
I know and Danny Kaye was a master at it!
Either great control, or MANY takes!
This is what you learn in drama / stage school
The pellet with poisons in the flagon with a dragon, the chalice from the palace has the brew that is true!❤
Very good but there's been a change, they broke the chalice from the palace.
They don't make them like this anymore. Danny Kaye was just superb. From the opening you can't out fox the Fox to the end line: The real king is on the throne and Jean is my very own. I thought Glynis Johns was stunning. One of my all time favourite films.
It's one of mine as well!
She's still stunning, and she just turned 100 last October!
Every single moment of this movie is golden. And i don't know who is more alluring, Glynis Johns or Angela Lansbury.
I vote Angela Lansbury Afterall Glynis Johns does have Breckenridge's Scourge
@@ChattingwithMarkStise 😄👍
Both beauties but different types of beauties each perfect in look manor and voice for her character
Glynis Johns for me
Having seen this classic farce many times ; I can't decide which line is my favorite 😮. As far as I'm concerned, they're all side-splittingly funny 😄!
I totally agree!
The vessel with the pestle?????
There 's a problem they broke the vessel with the pesle
and replaced it with a flagon with the figure of a dragon
@@ChattingwithMarkStise I forgot. (The best thing about that sketch is that at the end the whole poison problem is solved by the king saying "stop this mockery. There will be no toast".)
Chalice from the Palace!
How people go through their lines without cracking up is a mystery to me.
I'm sure there had to be a lot of reshoots
You left out the vessel with the pestle. I watch the Court Jester at least once a year and that has to be my favorite scene
The clip was to long if I posted it I would have gotten a copyright strike
Ah but not the brew that is true 😂
My favorite remains the nose tweaking maneuver during the sword fight.
I don't remember that, now I've got to rewatch the movie.
I'm kool with that.
Errol Flynn did it to Basil Rathbone in "Adventures of Robin Hood"
Danny Kaye - Legend
It is a great movie isn't it Henry
Wearing velour and silver lamé in the 14th century? Now, _that´s_ funny....
I had no idea you were such a historian!
"We did research. Authenticity was a must! Zeus! Did we search! What did we find? A lot of dust!"
From the opening song. In other words? "We could have made it historically accurate, but we didn't."
The very best , comedy, and sword fight movie of all time
Very much so
Adore his film, clever, talented, memorable and memories. ❤❤❤
The pellet with the poison! 😂
They broke the chalice from the plaice and replaced it with a flagon with a figure of a dragon.
@@ChattingwithMarkStise So the vessel with the pestle has the pellet with the poison, but the flagon with the dragon has the brew that is true?
@@SunshineCatwoman That's right just remember that!
The whole yay verily yay scene my favorite. Especially when they pick him up and march him around chanting yay verily yay
One of the best comedies ever made!
No need to mention the vessel/flagon Desaster, but my personal vote goes to "on your feet, don't be afraid, you are the greatest with the blade" (also in the marvellous german dubbing)
Tales of lizards ears of swine
chicken gizzards soaked in brine
@@ChattingwithMarkStise That part is an interesting childrens rhyme and tongue twister, but not exactly a nice quote for every day use 😅
Today is the day I learned where "Get it? Got it. Good" comes from.
I have that DVD, and watched it when it first came out as a movie. I see I'm going to have to watch it again - it's been years! Still funny!
Glad you liked it
Love, love, love, this movie! Like this but missing the vessel with the passage,lol...my fav.
A masterpiece
Danny Kay’s wife, Sylvia Fine wrote the music.
Awesome
Brilliant
Thank you
The page on the right standing behind the king is my uncle. He can be found on the IMDB under Norman Saxon Maine.
You sir have great taste . Amazing talent and amazing film
Thank you kindly!
Vessel with Pestle was originally used in a Bob Hope and Martha Rae B&W Comedy...
Lisa:
Wow!!!! I never knew that, thank you for sharing this!
This is the source of that line?! get it got it good 😂😂😂
I can still recite the who'e patter song by Danny Kaye - "When I was a lad . . ." These days, it would be called 'rap'.
You left out the drink orders. The pellet with the poison...
I know there were so many great scenes it was hard to make a Top 10
greatest movie of all time
You'll get no argument from me!
It's one of my top three favorite movies, but I miss " the "flagon with the dragon!"
Sadly it was impossible to put in the whole clip without a copyright
Comic genius
It is a great movie!
You'll never outfox the fox.
Yea Verily Yea.
I love the part in that scene where he spits the wine at the person's face
its the butt moments for me
The butt moments???
you entirely missed those lines of ...the vessel with the pistle is the brew thatis true, and so on Quite the pity
There was no way to put that in without getting a copyright strike by TH-cam
WHAT? You left out the entire Chalice from the Palace and the Flagon with the Dragon scene.
It was to long of a routine to put in without a copyright strike! Sorry
What about, "the vessel with the pestle"?
I couldn't list it without getting a copyright strike
@@ChattingwithMarkStise
That makes sense, sadly.
It's odd that the absurdity of that movie made in the 1950's does not come close to the absurdities of our reality today.
Copyright strike on a three minute scene. Sigh.
The vessel with the pestle…..??????
The routine was far to long to put in, I wanted to I just couldn't
Get it?
Got it!
danny. kaye. ❤❤❤
