Awesome match. I love the Generations-D but yeah it's not a match for the Dominion War upgrade Ambassador class. I like how the phasers on the Ambassador are solid like on the Galaxy class and not separate like on the original configuration.
The Ambassador Class is a heavyweight in its own right. It's got plenty of room for carrying lots of robust systems and allowing for upgrades. Those upgrades made for a big difference! Enhanced shielding is great and quantum torpedoes are no joke. At least not compared to ordinary photon torpedoes which are like hurling cannonballs at an enemy to very limited effect. Full Spread makes for a great 'broadsides', but that's what the Galaxy has for its 'big gun attack'. Without its full spread, even the big Galaxy looks conventional to the war upgraded ships. Physical damage leaking through the shields is pretty common. Next Generation had it under control; albeit, that might just be an effect of having such a huge ship! The Original Series had quite a bit of shaking and damage getting done through the shields. There's an old 'pencil and paper' game where there's an automatic 20% chance of damage being done through the shields which seems about right for the action seen on screen.
Before I even watch I have to predict Galaxy because that full photon spread is absolutely absurd. Edit: Nvm forgot this Ambassador is firing 4 quantums from the front and back.
I didn't expect that result in the beginning ,I thought it was going to be 50/50. A little luck and smart tactics gave you the victory in the last battle 👍
Galaxy Class.... two hits... shields are buckling.... five hits and we have a possible warp core breach... ten hits and coolant leak and unstoppable warp core breach... saucer separation... and KABOOM!!! Ambassador warps in a takes out the saucer section... game over.
Badger, how about a Heavy Cruiser fight series? Basically the refit Ambassador (maybe minus quantums) 1-on-1 versus enemy heavy cruisers like the Vorcha, Marauder, older Warbird, Keldon Type II (I would say Galor Type III but there aren't any decent Galor mods), maybe the Dominion Battlecruiser? I know there are some of those matchups already in the books, I know you did a match with the Keldon Type II and it destroyed the Enterprise C mod with moderate difficulty.
This fight shows exactly why the Enterprise -C was an Ambassador Class. It can take a substantial beating and still come out on top. Even from the flagship that replaced it.
An interesting battle but these cross-generational battles of ships with mods from different time lines are to unrealistic battles to conceive of, especially when you have battles of the same union. Time travel battles are not as fun to watch. We might find a Picard era fleet going back in time to eliminate the founding of the Borg union more enjoyable. Just a thought. ✌🏾😎
The Ambassador is no joke, even before refits. It is a fine heavy cruiser. The Dominion War refits take it to battlecruiser levels. Good firepower. They are less versatile than the Nebula, but is some ways better at certain roles. The thing is, even as a 30-35 year-old ship (in 2375), they are still as good as, if not superior, than the heavy cruisers of other powers. A TNG era Ambassador is in my opinion superior to the Vorcha Class, the Galor Type III, the Keldon Type I and 95% of the D'Kora Marauders. Though with the examples other than the Galor III, the difference is close. One sees why it was the top dog for 20 years. I greatly outclasses the K'Vort or the Galor Type II.
The thing I hate about Galaxy in the game is that their default target point is located basically where the forward torpedo launcher is. So even when the computer isn't targeting any systems, it can sometimes very easily knock out your torpedoes.
Yes, this is the achilles heel. Whereas it is nice to fire so many torpedoes, it leaves the launchers vulnerable for so long thanks to the target bias. But, it makes sense that the enemy would target that no? Several present day Air-to-Air missiles have programed target bias to default explode over a plane's cockpit.
@@crownprincesebastianjohano7069 Sure, it makes complete sense to go after the launchers. On the other hand, I'd expect any in-universe designer with half of their brains intact would then know this too and make the launchers more durable/put them somewhere where they won't be that vulnerable. Btw I'm not sure if anyone would even place a thing like that with a magazine full of torpedoes right next to your reactor (warp core in this case). But I know I'm just overthinking this, it's a show :))
😲Jeepers Admiral, an RBG Ambassador class. wow.. open a rift in time and the Romulans wouldn't know what hit them lol. That was a battle gosh.. Yes the quantums helped and shields.. jeepers.. This was a good what if.. and The Ent D held up wow.. I am surprised .. the tactics too , well done Admiral.. love the battle! I have questions about the Picard 3, when Data went into the Borg Cube, I know was big , but the way it flew and stopped above them, the size of the ship , could not see have far it was away from them, but looked like the Ent D shrunk.. lol. just saying. that part of the episode, I don't know ..just saying.. Great battle Admiral!😊🖖
Would had thought that if given the time to do the upgrades with the Klingons&Romulans being hostile to the Federation, Starfleet would had started installing cloaking devices on starfleet ships just so that they can mask their ships from long range sensors for incursions missions. I could also see the Ambassador having a weapons pod on its aft dorsal saucer section for launching bursts of torpedoes.
there was years ago some one who designed what the ambassador would look like in the post nemesis era it had add impluse engine full phasers on sacer section and quantum torpedoes
I'd say that this would make for a much more interesting movie fight than what we typically see. 0:40 Are the Galaxy-class specifications given in the "TNG: Technical Manual" from when it launched or when the show ended?
The specs in the TNG Technical Manual from what i know are from when it launched. The TNG Manual was released in 1991. The USS Venture gave us a look at an upgraded Galaxy Class, with it's slightly altered appearance in DS9. If only we had seen the inside 🤣.
well officially, from my memory, The phasors damaged the shields and torps the hull... but lots of original star trek rules have been broken.... especially with the new series
I forgot to add my challenge for you. Galaxy class type vessel. Any of them. Against 3 or make it 4 st6 (Star Trek 6) Bird of prey. The ones that can fire while cloaked. I managed to beat them. And I had confirmation when they got destroyed. When you made your video I will tell you what did. It may be the same. It may not be. I do look for your battles every day. But some nights I'm busy. Must do battle in Kobayashi mode. The ships need to fire when cloaked. Also my computer is old and slow it won't do the other remastered or super AI mode.
Request. On KM mods there's a option to add ships while in game from saffi menu. What would be cool to see is you with a fleet going against waves of increasing difficulty fleet. IE fed vs dom.
If the shields are stopping radiation, energy and kinetic energy at 100 they can only repel and absorb so much.. 10 at once is I feel is your getting kinetic and heat past their shields why hull damage is getting past... I feel that's an accurate representation
Hey I love watching your videos! I have a question re guarding the game tho. I bought I and I have played It but for some reason the phasers on all my ships fire like the shortest phaser fire ever. I press and hold down the fire button but it doesn't fire its annoying do you know what the problem might be!?
This is not a fair match it seems like 24/25th Century modifications to the Ambassador class it's not the Enterprise C of the 23rd century. How about doing one with the Narendra III ship.
thats silly no way you can upgrade a ambassador class to easly take out a galaxy class the difference between dominion era tech and basicly 1 year before hand isnt that great
The difference is the quantums. Without them the Ambassador is still at a major disadvantage. Its phasers are 20% less powerful and with only 75% of the shields.

The Ambassador class should have made more of an appearance in the Dominoin war, perhaps as a flagship for Admiral Ross.
That would have been neat!
Impressive, love it. That would have been great if the enterprise C upgraded with these mods returned to the battle of narendra 3.
6:48 "I think I'm too close for full spread, but I'm gonna brisket!"
Hungry, RBG? 😉
That Ambassador is epic. Can we see it up against some Dominion ships?
Yeeess!
You're a brilliant ambassador for quantum torpedoes, Retro Badger!
That was fun. I was hoping the Ambassador Class would win.
Amazing job balancing your Ambassador Refit, very nice, great battle 👍👍
Thanks Steve! Hope your well 🖖

They and the Nebula are the real MVP of Starfleet in the 2360s.
Captain is the way to go.... Ty for the video and LLAP!

Request rgb ambassador v 3 kvorts. Yesterday's ENT w better weapons
History will never forget the name... Enterprise
I that Ambassador tears them to pieces with them quantums!
@@crownprincesebastianjohano7069 the only way the kvorts could win is if the ambassadors quantum torpedos miss a lot.
Those intrepid impulse engines on the pylons really make the Ambassador quick on its feet. Before its like it wore concrete shoes
I like the new deflector look.
It looks like Constitution-StarshipClass.
I would love to see a series set on an Ambassador Class in the TNG-ENT style.
every day an ambassador class is featured is a good day
This fight shows exactly why the Enterprise -C was an Ambassador Class. It can take a substantial beating and still come out on top. Even from the flagship that replaced it.
Request: how many TMP-era Constitution refits would it take to destroy a Galaxy class ship?
One with the right captain... two or three otherwise...

Repair teams on the Ambassador must have had their Weetabix, fixing the torpedoes so fast 🖖
Any change of you updating the RBG Galaxy to be able to fire a full spread of Quantum Torpedos?
Chance* (or a 5 torpedo spread even)
I was thinking, too bad you don’t have the command codes.
Why does the C have quantums? Because its Retro Badgers? OK dominion war upgraded. Got it.

Dominion War Ambassador class vs Dominion was vessel. If it's built to take on the Dominion then put it against the Dominion.
The Galaxy is a big ship but also a bigger target !
Still my favorite ship though (:
Whats your favorite "C" ?
I love the Andy Probert design. (:
does rbg stand for retrobadgergaming
Yes.

At that close range we won't last long against those Star Destroyers...

It’s called burn through.
Wonder why no saucer seperation?
I've a dumb question, can this game do AI versus AI?
Is it me or do you think the ambassador class deserves More love in lore?
Because I like it.
what does RBG stand for?
Retro Badger Gaming 🖖
Can someone enlighten me. I googled everywhere and found nothing. WHAT DOES RBG MEAN? Thank you
RBG = Retro Badger Gaming. This is my vision of a dominion war upgraded galaxy class 🖖
