Rose quartz (the pen and the ink) are so pretty! The pen is sleek and would be great for work. I have had my eye on the ink since it came out, too, though I thought it would be a lighter pink. It actually reminds me of Birmingham Pen Company's Magnolia Mirage, and I'm here for all the pink options.

The ink is a bit darker than I expected, too, but I haven't enjoyed it in any pen I've put it in. It's very dry and still feels a bit light for daily use. If you don't mind dry, light inks, you might like it, but I'd recommend a sample before a bottle!

Thanks Sarah! I hadn't looked seriously at the ink, in case it might end up too pale or too bright for daily writing. That kind-of pluminess in the swatch is a surprise. I put RO Australis Rose in mine to start with, wanting something a bit warm rather than like bubble gum. Haven't used it too much yet. I should put it through its paces some more. :-D

Oooh! Glad you mentioned this. Sounds like a lovely combo.

Its funny you mentioning this ink looking dark green in the bottle. I think a nice dark olive green like Montverde Olivine would look awesome in this pen. Thanks for the review!

Yes, a green would look great! However unfortunately the white piston inside the pen stained terribly (with pink ink, thankfully) the first time I inked this pen. I ended up selling the pen and ink both. It was a pretty pen, but I knew further staining would bother me!

I got mine a couple of weeks ago, and it is a really beautiful pen. I have no regrets, and I'm eyeballing the new copper/rose gold one that's coming down the pike. If I'd stop ordering these 200s I could probably buy an 800 eventually. Arrgh! Not a huge fan of the ink. It's a very cool-toned pink...comparable to Monteverde Rose Pink in my collection. I inked it up with something a little warmer. Great video, Sarah! I loved when you said "I'm not good at words. I'm not good at colors." Same. So much same. lol

Duuude, I made it this long without any 2023 Inkvent spoilers. 😭

I apologize and edited that out for anyone else who might run across it.@@amyelr

@@GreatInkspectations I would consider the color names and (even vague) descriptions a spoiler. 🤷‍♀But I just like to use it as intended in December and be surprised every day, not knowing anything going into it.

I'm not loving the ink, either. I've tried it in several pens and haven't had great experiences with any of them. It's so dry and light! It might be the first Edelstein ink that leaves my collection.

I think this pen would have been the bomb If it had pink?! glitter like the Golden Beryl.

      Yessss it sure would have!

Pretty pen! Good to know about the fine vs medium. I don’t love the medium nib in my moonstone.

      @gingerpeachy  ปีที่แล้ว +1

For some reason the broad ones I have are nice, and so are the fines. One or two mediums are good, but at least two of them sing! They are still smooth nibs, I just don't like that sound!

The pen is really pretty! I say skip the ink, though!

I agree about the ink. I also find it very dry and not a fan of it. I’m not sure if I will un-ink the pen and use a different pink in mine.

I did take out the rose quartz ink and put another pink ink in... but this ink is feeling a bit dry, too. I want to put in a wetter ink, but I'm afraid to use anything darker and stain the piston! 😫

Can you tell or feel a difference between the Pelikan nibs on a 200 vs a 205? Just curious…thanks!

Very pretty! I considered selling my Golden Beryl and picking that one up, but was too lazy.

It is pretty! Golden Beryl is probably more versatile color-wise, so it’s a good one to have, too!

Could you tell me where to get it? If it is bought in the online, could you tell me the website address?

Hello! I just listed this one for sale on the Mercari app, if you are interested. I am cleaning out my pen collection a little bit. I also see them for sale on Goldspot Pens, Appelboom, Goulet Pens, Pen Boutique, and others. Just do a google search for “Pelikan M205 Rose Quartz,” and you will find many places to purchase!

I like the white finial and piston. The trim looks like ruthenium. I personally am not a fan for this year's color scheme. It kind of turns off 50% of the population, but it's okay.

I'm sure the Golden Beryl and Amethyst and Star Ruby pens might not have appealed to everyone, too, but then again, some people don't like brown or green or black. There's something for everyone!
