The best part about "traditional chinese medicine" is the absolute hubris. They claim some body part of an animal can cure something, then eradicate the animal so that no one can ever be cured of that malady ever again. Good job guys, way to think it through! Hope none of your kids get that disease.

Nah, Bob, they make such vast profits.
Being caught and facing a court often mean they've done it many times before and were just unlucky to be caught on that occasion.
They have a total disregard for animal life and shoud be treated in the same fashion.
Naturally, a death sentence on conviction isn't going to stop the more serious, professional ones from transporting and killing animals, but it scares off a few and there's less reason for anyone to feel guilty for sentencing them to death.

The punishment for poaching a critically endangered animal should be something so horrific no one would ever consider it. How about we cut off parts they could live without (but wouldn't want to) and then make them watch their own body parts being eaten, ideally by a carnivorous critically endangered animal.

Basil: (pointing to the lovely view) "That is Torquay, Madam."
Mrs Richards: "It's not good enough!"
Basil: "May I ask what you were expecting to see out of a Torquay hotel bedroom window? Sydney Opera House, perhaps? the Hanging Gardens of Babylon? Herds of wildebeest sweeping majestically past?..."
Mrs Richards: "Don't be silly! I expect to be able to see the sea!"
Basil: "You can see the sea, it's over there between the land and the sky."

And they know the salamander was 200 years old exactly how?
If they didn't state, then they're only guestimating, because of it's size, which could have increased dramatically over a short period of time, due to sufficient food supplies.
Right, where's my Nobel for science, thanks?!

Sorry (not),to bring you this in such a blunt way but,you guys at this channel are completely wrong about the greatest discovery ever made by Humanity, yet to be acknowledge:
How and why Stupidity is the worst human trait and the origin of all bad things in our world (maybe nobody told you but,an extinction event doesn't need to be "physical" or sudden...)
Could give you some hints on the matter, but people in this life made me grow egoist and suspicious of others so,ill let you figure it out by yourselves.
For the life i had and reasons that i have no patience to write about;i believe i'm still in this life for a reason:to see where all of this is going (not good). You believe it,you don't,it will always be you're thing, not mine.Ill be 57 this month,it's been a strange, confusing, hurting, found and lost life;yes,i'm human.
Ill leave you all now (for now),to you're finding of crucial things in life.
May all good people in this world be okay (unfortunately, the virus isn't selective),greetings from Portugal,Carpe Diem.

Everyone ask your selves... Am I in my short life span so valuable that the planet wide and all humans who'll ever live on her can do without another entire species of life so I can gain a few more years of comfort and time to enforce even more arrogant choices such as claiming one of many lame excuses to segregate human being from public dignity over such stupid claims as color creed race or religions am I? Answer should be if you have any value at all NO! rather Keep as many different species alive and thriving as possible. " sO HELP Us " YVO

he giant salamander IS endangered but not uncommon in China. There are several nature docs about them complete with video footage that follows them during feeding time. Thousands of people see them every years.
