    I just got one of these lanterns, had it checked out, and it works great. It was made in 1953 the year I was born😀

    Brings back memories when me and dad would fire up the old coleman and go white bass fishing at night!

      Same for me, that probably why enjoy Coleman lanterns so much. Thanks for watching.

      Sorry, I never did a follow-up video for this lantern. The only thing I did was clean it. You can check out my other Coleman videos here: th-cam.com/play/PLDwfLFrunJ3JKvo4t89rvX4XYpHAlQnvi.html

      Good eye , normally the Canadian lanterns have the fuel valve clocked 180 degrees from the U S models. Also " Made in Canada" maybe stamped on the font. Nice find 👍

    Seems like 200a go for more than 220/228s. I found one on offer up for $35 that's clean. Ill see if the guy messages me as he's had it listed for 3 months so i offered $30. I got a 220f for $30 and a 425b dual burner camp stove for $15 and got em both running.
    Just want to get a single mantle 200a for my collection.

      Agreed, I was excited to add this one to my collection. All the my good finds have come from second hand stores and yard sells. There's quite a few vintage/antique stores in my town but they always want collector prices for their Coleman products. Thanks for watching and good luck with your Coleman hunting.

      I managed to pick up a 8-51 200a Christmas lantern for $10 from a yard sale. It needs some work but its complete and all original. I was excited to find it. Will look nice with my 62 red one.

      Gasoline or camp fuel. Kerosene requires a pre heat cup

    • @tomallen6073
      @tomallen6073 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      You can’t do lamp oil in them, gas or camp fuel.

    Stumbled across my third 200 today, $30, 1/61. I’ve own a couple dozen Coleman’s now, I prefer the 228E big hats also the f’ s. Once you get to 1974 they cheapened them and labels on the collars look like shit IMO.

      I see a lot of the late 70s & 80s models at my local yard sales and thrift stores. I agree on collecting the old ones.

    I got 200 a and it did work good .than it the gas got were it would not byrn.i have went trew it.it blows air and gas out but it will not light.i think it old fuel

    • @RavenwoodAcres
      @RavenwoodAcres  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      Maybe, Coleman fuel should last a long-time. However, if it gets contaminated with water or rust it could cause major issues. I would purge the tank and put fresh fuel into and give it a try. Thanks for watch and let me know if resolve your lantern issue.

    how to know the year

    • @RavenwoodAcres
      @RavenwoodAcres  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      The manufacture date is usually stamped on the bottom of the tank. The format is one digit month and two digit year. For example, (5 76) is May 1976.

    What fuel will these burn

    • @RavenwoodAcres
      @RavenwoodAcres  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      I only use Coleman fuel but others have claim that you can use different varies of white gases. However, I no experience with any of these fuels.

      Karen, Coleman did make kerosene model lanterns. One of the easiest ways to tell is the alcohol cup. The cup would located by the gas generator. User would've to add alcohol and lite it, in order to pre heat the generator. This allows to more oil like kerosene flow better during startup. I hope this answers your questions. Please let know if you need more information.
