    I have been studying all of the elements of my new HD1 lately, (steep learning curve for me). I have to say that your video has been the most valuable resource that I have come across on this subject. What made your presentation so exceptional were all of the "casual comments" that you interjected as you proceeded through the demonstration of the CPS's features. I found "numerous" features, that were obscure/vague to me previously, easily understood as I watched your presentation. Well done!

    I just ordered this radio today and I'm now binge watching the videos in this playlist. :)

      Funny thing I just learned about TH-cam. I got love from radiosification on this comment when I realized that I typed the word "not" when I meant to type "now". So I corrected it. Then the love disappeared. I guess that makes sense because I could have made a huge change that would maybe not warrant any love from the content creator. Anyway, I just noticed that and thought I would comment on it. Now I am just waiting for my HD1 to arrive from China.

      @@radiosification Funny thing is that now I realize the "not" is funnier than "now". Because that was obviously what I was doing.

    Please help me! I'm using a RT81 in analog mode and no matter what tx option I use, it will always interrupt my calls. What should be the right option for the third radio doesn't interfere with the other two?

  • @enigma6482
    @enigma6482 ปีที่แล้ว

    If you're trying to hit an analog local repeater that uses a input tone to access it; does the tone number go in the Dec QT/DQT or the Enc QT/DQT?

    • @radiosification
      @radiosification  ปีที่แล้ว

      Enc because it's encoding it. Dec means the radio decodes the tone or DCS, so with Dec it's receiving it

    • @enigma6482
      @enigma6482 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@radiosification That's what I thought, but for some reason I seemed to be hitting it with the decode tone. But I've set it back to just Encode and it "seems" to be working now. Thank you. You've been really helpful with all this.

    Great video I have question. I need to make two contacts using SAME ID like TG 311xxxx and also SAME 311xxxx as a Private Call? Seems Hd1 software allow that? Must I if i make the TG to use same ID number as a PC make the PC via manual dial thru menu on radio? Thanks

    • @radiosification
      @radiosification  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      I didn't understand the second question. For the first question, a group call and private call are completely separate and different. If you make a talkgroup (group call) with some ID and a private call with the same ID it doesn't mean anything. There's no relation between them. Every DMR radio should let you make a group call and private call with the same IDs

    This was really good information, it was laid out really well, and was FAR easier to understand than other programming videos. Thank you.
    By any chance were you able to find any other radios that the HD1's encryption was compatible with?

    • @radiosification
      @radiosification  ปีที่แล้ว +1

    • @radiosification
      @radiosification  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Can you? Yes. Should you? No. I wouldn't trust any cheap Chinese radio in a safety critical job like firefighting. There's a reason they're cheap. They're not up to the same standard of reliability as the commonly used brands like Motorola, Icom, Kenwood, Sepura, etc.

      @@radiosification I have a Kenwood analog/NXDN radio, but it’s a single-band VHF (136-174). I just want another dual radio I can use for analog VHF, UHF and FRS frequencies and transmit on it. While my kenwood radio just on one NXDN fire channel, it’s a lot of mutual aid in my area

    Can you please explain when programing an anolouge repeater, what the difference between Dec QT/DQT and Enc QT/DQT? Thanks much! KE0RTL

    • @radiosification
      @radiosification  6 ปีที่แล้ว

      Enc (short for encode) transmits with the selected CTCSS or DCS. Dec (decode) turns on CTCSS or DCS for receiving, so the squelch only opens when the correct CTCSS or DCS is received.

    What if a dmr system has multiple sites using different frequencies? Is there anything that can be done?

    • @radiosification
      @radiosification  6 ปีที่แล้ว

      Anything that can be done in what way? A DMR scanner will have no problems with that. Or depending on what it is you may be able to get a radio that can automatically choose the frequency. The HD1 does not have roaming so it can't do that.

      You pretty much answered your own question. You can only do it in frequency mode.

    • @Loco_Lui
      @Loco_Lui 6 ปีที่แล้ว

      You are trying to edit it AFTER the channel has been saved. Switch to frequency mode, set everything, then delete & re save the channel after it's set. Hope that makes sense

  • @arkyump

    Where did you get the software for the HD1?

  • @Loco_Lui
    @Loco_Lui 6 ปีที่แล้ว

    Can you please explain what the "RELAY" CHECKBOX on the far right under analog actually does? I'm confused. I understood it to be the setting which indicates if the frequency is for repeater use rather than "talk around".
    However i tested an analog repeater channel with it checked, & then again with it unchecked. I couldn't tell any difference in function. Can you lend any insight?
    Love the videos! Very good stuff.

    • @radiosification
      @radiosification  6 ปีที่แล้ว

      I haven't checked in the software but I thought relay was only for DMR, to tell the radio whether it's a simplex or repeater channel.

      Please make a new comment thread! Your comment is not related to the one you replied to.
      I can't give you a codeplug for the Netherlands because I'm not in the Netherlands myself and don't have any. This video is about teaching you how to do it yourself! As I said in the video, it's best to program the radio yourself so you actually understand the system you're using. But if you want to go and look it up online and simply download a codeplug then that's up to you.
