not sure what happened to you Paul? no videos in over a year... miss seeing your mods. ive been modding my systems lately, my ps2 has a noctua fan mod and plays games from a hard drive now, my ps1 has a memcard pro which allows it to use micro sd cards as storage, i have 32gb card in it which is equal to 256 ps1 memory cards! my Dreamcast has a noctua fan mod as well and im currently putting a GC digital in my Gamecube! to say your videos are inspiring is a understatement. hope you come back to TH-cam soon man, we miss ya.

Neat stuff. Took apart a PS1 multitap just to make sure everything was clean and it looked about the same. Wire led into a big main chip that split off into each port.

That small connector for the other half of the board to form a right angle is such a neat idea.
Foxconn is that wonderful company where they had to install nets under the windows so people would finally stop to suicide themselves on the job ^-^ I'm not kidding btw.
Nice teardown video. I wonder if you can do video were you repair a fat PS2 Multitap. I own one when buying a Fat PS2 2nd hand and the Multitap does not work. It can power on my controllers, analog light and my wireless controller dongles, but they do not respond and memory cards cannot be detected. There is nobody on TH-cam that has ever done a Multitap restoration.

oh man, you just put something on my list... i seen a boxed one my buddy had and it came with the mouse pad, i wanted that PS logo mouse pad soooooo bad, ive taken apart several ball mouses in my day, so i seen the insides of those, i wonder whats different inside the PS mouse.......
by using the dummy memory card board inside the multi tap? i mean, in theory i'm sure you could, there is additional circuitry in the mx4sio that you would have to add and wire it all up manually, so it would probably be harder to turn this into one than need be

The most challenging part of being curious is putting things back together after you disassemble it in my opinion.
youre 100% right, it really is, the disassembly process is what teaches you how to reassemble
