Yes don't sign it, just doesn't make sense why all of a sudden they are going silent about updates. The updates is what gets the community excited about playing. Going silent makes people stop playing until news comes to light. They are making a big mistake saying nothing and doing this to content creators too. Maybe we should all stop playing for a while maybe then they'll stop this childish move to creators and players.
I would agree if the maps were bigger. They aren't even big enough for 100. Every server is 3 clans farming the rest of the server. I expect to get offlined nightly.
They would need to refine the code, update all community servers, and find a way where we can generate the server from a type of cloud so that each one can be run more easily

Hi, as a former community manger for a game. NDA's are bad. Not just cause they don't want you to talk. They can also have small print that'll sign you likeness away. Trust me if you ever want to sign anything (not that you will) read it really really read it. You're not silly but look into it....

If they can release content without spending much money that keeps you playing the game and buying skins, they have won. You accepting small wins keeps their poor practices going, you need to hit them in the pocket and if drip feeding small content is enough to keep individuals like yourself "happy for now" then there is 0 incentive for them to change that strategy. We can't demand big changes without changing out behaviour as consumers.

I used to dream of Rust on console. Fast forward played it a lot for a while. Took a few breaks. Not gonna play it until minis come out. It's not Rust without mini's. It's not just me that feels this way. If it's old consoles holding the game back, then have new console only servers. I appreciate all the work and fixes, yes I remember Beta lolz! This game has a huge following and would bet we would all trade the next 50 skins for a mini run with glitches.
I don’t think the servers would even help its the base game we talking about and they would have to make another copy and I doubt we would get it for free but maybe a discount
What’s the point of minis now anyway? The maps are over half the size of the pc maps so ofc they need minis. We need cars or even the hot air balloon would be a huge update. People just spams we need minis when there is real no need for them.

The NDA is to get you to cool your jets. They have backed off and on their update timeline substantially for some reason. They want to give you the “why” so you’ll quiet down, but they don’t want the community to know that the timeline has been altered or why. Did a group of programmers quit?
If you go to the little cardboard box on the sides of the raft. It’s easy to get up especially with flippers. This is my thing about the game rust which I have played religiously for the past 2 1/2 years lol it’s the only game where they keep taking stuff away from us and making us work for it. lol like oh you wanna run turrets you can’t just slap them down now you have to power them. Oh, you want lights you have to hook them up. There’s many more examples but it’s so weird. They just take stuff away from us.😂😂
As a 1.5k hour old gen player, I agree with the argument they should remove the game from old gen. Unless they can fix the consistent crashing and disconnecting, lag spikes, etc… I see no point in playing the game. They “support” old gen but it still barely runs on it anyways. I know most people don’t think this way but either way I’d guess that almost EVERY old gen player has quit because of the lag and how shitty it runs on old gen so there’s no need to allow the 1-2% of players who play on old gen to delay the growth of the game. Also optimization is very rough work and by the time they could actually fix all the bugs with old gen the newer Xbox’s and that will probably be out and the game will probably be dead.

Have you coded before? Or better have you tried to convert code? The syntax & semantics is completely different. Doing something in one language might be much harder in different. This is just from my experience, modular or not.
Ya an NDA is stupid we need more transparency from this company. It took TWO YEARS for the devs to actually release good updates. We need a next gen update but that wont happen anytime soon due to contracts.
Don’t be surprised if we don’t get much of a update till the mobile version drops. I know different companies but mobile developers would have payed a premium for the name and possibly have added some requests of their own into that contract. Game has taken a turn for the worse for us solos, just to rub salt in the wounds too .
Its also getting old that the skins are always $20 a set anymore. They would sell more sets if they were $5 a set. Single items should never be more than $2 each. Rust corporate wants major money for skins, but they dont want to catch us up to PC on all the content and monuments. Console has been out long enough that we should be getting the same updates as PC by now. Seems like they're more worried about PC and mobile and heck with all us console users.
Hello I’ve been playing since Christmas on a ps4 and it’s really addictive and great but for some reason nobody on the server I go on have mics so communication is difficult and I want some of the things that are on the pc like metal detectors,

I jumped over to pc rust, and i thing im going to test it on mobile. Played it on console and stopped at 2600hours. I was buying all the skins they relesed to. But when they stop make the game better i just left.. Tryed it a week ago and saw that the X mark on trees was not even fixed, i logged out.. Dont sign the deal man...

Double 11 sound like they're being creepy. I agree, the full game is out on pc, just do the job and deliver a 2025 Quality product. In my opinion we should stop buying skins until it runs better or has a next gen version.
Considering the optimization and how buggy this game can be every wipe. I think it's just an ability issue that they simply cannot handle this game, not to mention making a next gen(sorry it's already current gen now). Now I simply hope D11 could fk off and leave the game to someone who can actually do it better. If they could go smooth on optimization, bug fixing and server wipes, lack of new content wouldn't be a thing ya know? Ps4 version, discord is not informative if you've been in the community for a while and slow progress all for what? a surprise that we quite literally already seen/played because of pc. I enjoy the game because i have a nice sized imagination but survival game creators are already working on new games so one game drop and i don't have to use that imagination anymore bcuz the creators already have it implemented. (I can play the pc version i just have more console friends🤷♂️)

I absolutely hate the lighting in the game right now. It's awful! Too bright and too dark. Too many awful shadows at dusk and dawn. Dawn takes way too long as well! I love playing the game but hate these aspects of it.
Yea but 95% of them are trash. Admin abuse, ridiculous rules, free kits, or sometimes there's a good server and no admins to enforce the rules they made. There are next to none when you want vanilla+ servers. I don't have time to admin or I'd run one myself.
They have a hard enough time optimizing for pc im sure theyve hit a wall on console where they feel as if any more content could break the game/make it unplayable.
They main problem was choosing D11. No disrespect to the work theyve put in. But i imagine they're understaffed with not much direction. They chose development on old gen just to possibly get as many players as possible vs having a better game. Theyre bottlenecked with old tech. Even on pc rust is very demanding. So they hire a 3rd party studio trying to do their best and make a name for themselves with all the demands with impossible restrictions. They need to just reboot the game on new gen, hire more developers for console ports. Do something about cheating, content and most importantly.. communication. And before some as clown says "pEoPle stiL pLaY on OLd Gen.. " yeah no sht.. new gen is 4 years old already.. we're talking about wanting more from a game being coded on a toaster from 2013.. that was already 5 years outdated at launch.

There's definitely something deeper going down behind closed doors. Respawn/EA does similar stuff with the bigger youtubers for apex. Giving early access to new stuff and making them not release any of the video footage from the early access stuff. That may be a possibility. So keep that in mind. Read through the entire document twice. Go back to confirm certain things that you might not understand. Get an advisor or a lawyer involved if need be. No one is going to fault you for protecting your first amendment right. Again, there's gotta be something going on much deeper. They did give console something that PC doesn't have. Maybe they're cooking up something big separate from PC. That'd be the only thing that would make sense to me considering we already know what's coming due to it being a port. There's nothing to hide essentially. The hard part is trying to figure out what they could add that PC doesn't already have. Or they're working on map sizing, increasing the modding capabilities, terrain...... hold the phone...... God rocks? Caves? Train tunnels? We did see underground dwellers in the code not too long ago. Mil tons we got recently. Could very much been a test to see how the servers would react to it.
Bottom line. Jade don’t sign the NDA in general they limit your voice, but you already know that. There’s no point unless you yourself are gonna gain from it in a positive manner by keeping your mouth closed over something that’s not morally controversial

I know a few people (including myself) who play on old gen. The reason they don’t remove it? An agreement with Microsoft to support oldgen. Pretty sure that expired or expires soon though. I think they should do whatever is best for the game though and if that means removing oldgen I could really care less.

Its also getting old that the skins are always $20 a set anymore. They would sell more sets if they were $5 a set. Single items should never be more than $2 each. Rust corporate wants major money for skins, but they dont want to catch us up to PC on all the content and monuments. Console has been out long enough that we should be getting the same updates as PC by now. Seems like they're more worried about PC and mobile and heck with all us console users.

I jumped over to pc rust, and i thing im going to test it on mobile. Played it on console and stopped at 2600hours. I was buying all the skins they relesed to. But when they stop make the game better i just left.. Tryed it a week ago and saw that the X mark on trees was not even fixed, i logged out.. Dont sign the deal man...

Double 11 sound like they're being creepy. I agree, the full game is out on pc, just do the job and deliver a 2025 Quality product. In my opinion we should stop buying skins until it runs better or has a next gen version.
Considering the optimization and how buggy this game can be every wipe. I think it's just an ability issue that they simply cannot handle this game, not to mention making a next gen(sorry it's already current gen now). Now I simply hope D11 could fk off and leave the game to someone who can actually do it better. If they could go smooth on optimization, bug fixing and server wipes, lack of new content wouldn't be a thing ya know? I don't understand, just like you said small updates with small info on the next update won't hurt them and will keep it kind of entertaining. Ps4 version, discord is not informative if you've been in the community for a while and slow progress all for what? a surprise that we quite literally already seen/played because of pc. I enjoy the game because i have a nice sized imagination but survival game creators are already working on new games so one game drop and i don't have to use that imagination anymore bcuz the creators already have it implemented. (I can play the pc version i just have more console friends🤷♂️)

I absolutely hate the lighting in the game right now. It's awful! Too bright and too dark. Too many awful shadows at dusk and dawn. Dawn takes way too long as well! I love playing the game but hate these aspects of it.

Yea but 95% of them are trash. Admin abuse, ridiculous rules, free kits, or sometimes there's a good server and no admins to enforce the rules they made. There are next to none when you want vanilla+ servers. I don't have time to admin or I'd run one myself.

They have a hard enough time optimizing for pc im sure theyve hit a wall on console where they feel as if any more content could break the game/make it unplayable.
They main problem was choosing D11. No disrespect to the work theyve put in. But i imagine they're understaffed with not much direction. They chose development on old gen just to possibly get as many players as possible vs having a better game. Theyre bottlenecked with old tech. Even on pc rust is very demanding. So they hire a 3rd party studio trying to do their best and make a name for themselves with all the demands with impossible restrictions.
They need to just reboot the game on new gen, hire more developers for console ports. Do something about cheating, content and most importantly.. communication.
And before some as clown says "pEoPle stiL pLaY on OLd Gen.. " yeah no sht.. new gen is 4 years old already.. we're talking about wanting more from a game being coded on a toaster from 2013.. that was already 5 years outdated at launch.

There's definitely something deeper going down behind closed doors. Respawn/EA does similar stuff with the bigger youtubers for apex. Giving early access to new stuff and making them not release any of the video footage from the early access stuff. That may be a possibility. So keep that in mind. Read through the entire document twice. Go back to confirm certain things that you might not understand. Get an advisor or a lawyer involved if need be. No one is going to fault you for protecting your first amendment right.
Again, there's gotta be something going on much deeper. They did give console something that PC doesn't have. Maybe they're cooking up something big separate from PC. That'd be the only thing that would make sense to me considering we already know what's coming due to it being a port. There's nothing to hide essentially. The hard part is trying to figure out what they could add that PC doesn't already have. Or they're working on map sizing, increasing the modding capabilities, terrain...... hold the phone...... God rocks? Caves? Train tunnels? We did see underground dwellers in the code not too long ago. Mil tons we got recently. Could very much been a test to see how the servers would react to it.

I know a few people (including myself) who play on old gen. The reason they don’t remove it? An agreement with Microsoft to support oldgen. Pretty sure that expired or expires soon though. I think they should do whatever is best for the game though and if that means removing oldgen I could really care less.
They are just milking as much money off the old gen players through skins. At the end of the day if your able to buy skins buy a new gen console stop holding the game back

D11 does the console port, Facepunch Makes Rust, and another studio is doing the mobile version, but Facepunch gets a cut of all of it because it is their game
