ITILII yeah he meant Opie brought Ant into radio. Imagine if Ant was trapped in his first marriage and working air conditioning the rest of his life getting arrested for hanging around the middle school, instead of radio millionaire.
Opie is like a person who found a rare coin worth millions of dollars. Ant is that valuable coin. If Opie never found that rare coin, it is possible that nobody would have found it and that coin would spend it's life on the streets. But someone else very likely could have found that coin. That coin made Opie rich, simply by Opie cashing in that coin. Ant IS the valuable asset, Opie simply found him.
Yes, he even suggested he was his savior, saying it was him that talked Anthony into getting the divorce.. You can spot a self-involved ego tripper a mile away

Pretty good logic. I actually love the analogy. Pretty perfect. But i think you are downplaying the fact that ant could very easily have never made it and lived an inconsequential life of mediocrity. So he definitely owed opie. That being said, the last sentence is purposely past tense. Cuz ant has paid him back 10 fold, and even pulled opie along to a level he never could have achieved alone.
I had a female friend who was/is a little crazy and she was married to the nicest guy. After not talking with her for a couple years we met up and she told me he had killed himself. She had been nagging him about his family (apparently an ongoing thing) while they lay in bed at night and he suddenly sat up and shot himself right next to her. When she told me about this, she kept saying she “literally nagged him to death,” saying it in an upset, ironic manner and with what I hope was genuine remorse. I told her that was silly of course, but it wasn’t. I know her enough and I think I knew him enough to understand she was more than likely a big factor in him doing what he did.
When Opie said he’s gonna step outside I got excited because I thought he was going to. Instead minutes later I find him stepping all over Ant’s genius.
Ant was probably fuming when Opie said he was his saviour since Ant's wife was Opie's girlfriend's friend. Ant has already stated that he didn't want to split up because it would put a strain on the work relationship, since Opie would have to deal with his girlfriend bitching about Ant.
@really dude in the two months since I posted that comment, I've already changed to completely agree with you lol. What changed me was Opie injecting callers into an already lively bit or riff between Ant Jimmy & the guests. So yeah you're right
I remember i was on my way to a job interview when I first heard this. I didn't get the job and while i'm not blaming this bit for it, it defiantly distracted me when I was answering questions.

Its a pile on to be part of the group. "Me too guys! I'm cool and hate the same thing too!" I'm sure they all think they are funnier/better than him too which is why none of them have jobs approaching the area of entertainment.
i really dont think its that, its okay if you like him and all but he sticks out like a sore thumb of unfunniness in my opinion and the opinion of others evidently
You should have to take a test before you get married. Test a mans tolerance. If a woman knowingly marries him, and pushes him past his limit, this should be legal.
I mean I feel bad for Anthony for having a shitty marriage, but I feel like he's pushing the don't get married thing just because it didn't work for him. Just sayin'.
He was married to an abusive alcoholic. Obviously that influences his opinion. I've been married a year and I don't endorse it either now that I know what it entails.
Why do people say "I mean" before everything these days? No offense FatTony, I'm just asking.. I'm guessing it's the new "ya know", or the new "knowm sayn"?

Opie saved Ant, and Ant made Opie. Opie would never have had the success he had without Ant's comic genius.
Opie saved Ant ? Opie added virtually nothing to the show, Ant is a great talent, and Jimmy is far better than opie, too
ITILII I think he means if it wasn’t for Opie bringing him into radio, hence he saved him from a sad marriage + construction work
ITILII yeah he meant Opie brought Ant into radio. Imagine if Ant was trapped in his first marriage and working air conditioning the rest of his life getting arrested for hanging around the middle school, instead of radio millionaire.

We're two guys who think marriage licenses should come with an expiration date...the Opie and Anthony Show!
If you change your name to Archie Buncher I'll thumbs up you.
We're two guys who think women and radio are two things that don't necessarily always mix....(hole sounds)...
We’re two guys who think that marriage should be between two guys!…. Yuck
Opie: "Can I add something else?"
All listeners everywhere: "How bout no."
You haven't acknowledged lately that I'm your savior. UGH! What a douche
Matt Lee I like that Opie prods Ant to add details. The Chester story stems from this.
Matt Lee - "you crazy Dutch bastard"
Matt lee dude. He fucking steers the ship. you know nothing about radio. This show is nothing with opie..... jk- ltiearlly the worst person in radio.
They got verrrrrry close to the Greggshells on this one.
Nothing is more ridiculous and intolerable than a drunk woman.
And almost only way to get laid is talking to a drunk woman
For a single guy

What about this whole story if the girl ran the guy over it would be that he consistently mentally abused her and she finally stood up for herself
to be fair sir, nagging about a speeding ticket isnt really mental abuse
God damnit thats so true
Anthony never liked opie lol
Opie was awful here too.
