you said everything about classy and newjeans so well! the members of these groups are my age, some even a year younger and while I still enjoy listening to their music, the fact that this young girls have to go through all this makes me uncomfortable, i can’t imagine the pressure they must be feeling and the worst thing about it is that the producers and even fans don’t even treat them their age.
@@AnzzCheatedOnMarkWithHaechan i agree. they are not that much younger than me but I still feel uncomfortable thinking about it because I can’t even imagine being in their place.. being an idols can be so stressful sometimes, like fourteen year old girls should still study..
I have only reacted to classy and really liked them but it kinda feels iffy and..weird to see girls my age debuting. Not meant in a jealous way, but considering how toxic the industry is getting nowadays I....wouldn't like to stan both groups
@@KingstonTiger yes I understand, I feel the same way! they are all so talented but really young to go through all this. kpop fans can be very toxic sometimes and I don’t think any girl my age is ready for that
In the case of Xdinary Heroes, as someone who listens to rock outside of kpop, I feel like music should not be dependent on the instruments but the sound they create with those instruments. Yes, Lucy is totally unique because a violinist is present bring in the collaboration between classical and rock, however, there is a distinct yet small difference between Xdinary Heroes and other k-bands who use the same instruments. IDK where I'm going with this, maybe I just like the music XH creates, but, when it comes to bands, it's not about the instruments, it's about what they can create with those instruments. It's like that for all bands. But hey music is subjective.
Exactly, I am new to rock (outside of kpop thanks to Dreamcatcher) but rock and all subgenres isn't really about the instruments, electric guitar and bass have more than you can think tones and that makes a huge difference already
Exactly....I also think their voices also help make the k-bands distinct...Day 6 ,Onewe,The rose,Nflying and Xdheros sound really different...I can tell just by listening which group is which
The Rose gives me more of a laid-back vibe while XD has "louder" music (Idk how to describe it specifically). IZ had the more rock-sound too, but changed up their sound afterwards and I'm not sure how long it'll take for them to disband sadly enough :(( Day6 on the other hand is also more of that laid-back sound. Of course this is all a generalization as they have songs of all kinds tbh, but I was definitely a bit upset that the XD section basically meant "band music sounds all the same" and I can't understand that at all
True. If to compare, XD reminds me of the rock band around 2013s (?) I was born in 1998 and their songs and music kinda give me nostalgic feeling back when I was in middle school haha. Nflying is more influenced with JRock (Japan Rock). Day6 is pretty experimental, each album has different vibes and genre so it's interesting. The Rose is more like.. what was Chris Martin band's name again? I forgot haha. They have the airy laid back sound thanks to Sam's voice. Lucy have classical music vibe with the violin and their vocalist voice is really unique (at least for me) and it stand out so much
100% agree with the newjeans/classy one. This is an absolute dealbreaker for me and I could never ever support children in the idol industry, it just doesn't sit right with me. That's why it's also really hard to get into IVE for me... Actually it's almost impossible to support a new debut these days if you have similar issues with underage idols. This shouldn't happen, nevertheless be the norm! (I remember being so relieved checking the Purple Kiss member's profiles when they debuted. Insane reaction thinking about it...)
Purple Kiss might be the oldest 4th gen girl group in terms of the average age between all members. The eldest is turning 25 this year and the youngest is only 19 so their average age all together is 22 (which is the same age as their third oldest member).
I remember when Purple Kiss debuted I was first so shocked seeing they had members born 2002/3, because that was the youngest of any group I'd stanned so far, but now in comparison...
And with New Jeans, there's the whole situation with their song Cookie and how the song is filled with innuendos. Yes, the lyrics aren't outright sexual, but the fact that the song is called cookie and it's literally about trying to get a boy to eat it and enjoy, is obvious. They knew what they were doing when they made that song. Everyone knows what cookie means or what people would automatically think about a song like that. I'm very uncomfortable stanning a group like that when right off the bat they were getting accused of sexualizing minors and the fact that the creator of the group was said to be a creep
i was thinking the same thing about the song but you have to remember that the song is not written by the members and they are just following what they heads of the company decided for them.
@@esratj9819 Yeah I know. I wish the best for the members and hope they have a successful life. I have no problems with the girls. It's Ador and Hybe that I have a problem with, bc the producers gave the girls that song knowing what it could be interpreted as. They are minors and the oldest member is younger than me a 03 liner. It just feels so wrong
I absolutely agree with New Jeans and Class:y. I just checked their ages, and that is actually really unsettling. I hate how the kpop industry thinks it’s okay to debut minors, especially minors THAT young. It’s so gross.
I don't see the problem I mean there was a group in the UK called S Club Juniors which was made up of kids like I don't see the problem like how there's child actors or sometimes singers have children singing in their songs
@@MayaLove777 yes but even among child actors, there are many stories of minors who were exploited behind the scenes. And if they weren't exploited, they're usually under the watchful eye of their parents. Now what of idol culture where the idols are under tons of scrutiny everyday from all around the world? If you're familiar with kpop culture, I shouldn't need to spell it out for you
@@MayaLove777 Because you've never learn about their behind the scenes. What happened when they grow up. After I learned what happened with children in entertainment industry I feel disgust with all those parents and adults who allow them in the industry.
I really appreciate your perspective considering the older groups and where they are right now, it makes total sense. Most ktubers would crap on them just for being older, so thank you for providing more nuance - it would be hard to emotionally attach yourself to a group that may only be able to put out consistent music every two or three years due to hiatuses and other issues. As for NewJeans & Classy, I totally agree. It's not unusual to see older teenagers debut in kpop, but the prevalence of really young minors in these newer groups is just weird and part of the reason I can't stan them.
i felt the same, this is the first time i've heard someone give a very logical reason for not stanning an early 3rd gen group that makes sense, without putting them down in any way. even as a hardcore exo stan i found myself nodding along and understanding where he's coming from.
The tendency of debuting minors really scares me. Yeah, there were many idols in previous generations who debuted at very young age like Taemin, BoA or Krystal but now companies prepare whole groups of minors to debut! Let them enjoy their youth, go to school, socialize with peers... This industry is becoming more and more disturbing 😥
Y'all are a bit strange? Who is forcing them? before debuting they already went through a rigorous trainee period and probably had realized that things don't get easier after debut. This is their decision, y'all make it seem like they're in some forced prostitution ring. Yes, the kpop industry can be toxic and harsh, but so are many other professional industries that require one to use their body, such as any kind of professional dancing, sports, etc. Maybe if there are signs that they are getting mistreated or handled carelessly I can understand the point, but for now, y'all aren't making any logical sense. People out here practically invalidating their decision just because they are minors, yes they are minors but they aren't stupid.
@@jessidiary4884 i mean as for newjeans, there are already proofs all over the internet that min heejin is a whole creep. we don’t know what her intentions with these kids are. i think this should also concern you and can be taken as a warning if mistreatments are found in the future.
@@ocaaaa oh, I heard somewhere that min Heejin is their director/producer, or something like that, don't really know much abt her apart from hearing that she is a well respected person in Korea for forming big girl groups. What happened for her to be labelled as a creep?
@@justdancerale Luna was 18 I think (still a minor in Korea tho) But yeah I don't understand why they made them debut in 2009 when SNSD had only been a group for 2 years They could have waited a bit Sulli was 15 and Krystal was 14 ☠
its so heartwarming and wholesome to see older & younger exols come together and talk about exo. exo is a 10 years old group which has been blown us away since debut. a lot of so-called exols left but a lot of new exols came as well during their enlistment era. and most of us arent the type of fans that thirsty of comeback and stuff. i would say that's cool. the fandom seems chill nowadays and focuses on their life outside kpop much more. most of us are grown up exols, which makes the fandom grew more matured. even me myself, is in my 20s and a casual exo stan, who listens to their songs (+ other groups' songs) and hardly get into any other groups. i just think that exo is home, i dont need any other groups' content to fulfill my life :) that's my thoughts.
Same I am reaching my 20s and only know k-pop in 2018 and started to stan exo just in late 2018-2019 they don't have much variety content in recent yrs but the music they have for these 10 yrs as a grp, solo and subunit is mind-blowing 😘
As someone who ults fromis_9 I was kinda confused when I saw them here but after hearing the reason you’re completely right. Stanning them is like a surprise mystery box and it’s sad. Their so talented funny and amazing I wish pledis and hybe could manage them better their such amazing girls
Low key tho can’t help but worry in a few years another member will be gone… they definitely deserve more attention. The attention they should have gotten after idol school
@Your Misery Yo newjeans and fromis9 ain't even in the same company, newjeans is in ador and fromis9 is in i forgot what's the company but it's not ador.
From a second gen kpop fan here, Exo debut hype was explosive, and whew child coming from someone who was born in 95 it just sounds weird calling myself a stan of groups in the passing generations nowadays. I am at the point now where I find myself just a fan of the music sonically outside of the groups itself. Like Hype Boy from newjeans was added in a chill kpop playlist I follow and I didn't even know it was from them, before I looked, sonically it's was just a cute little bop as I studied. Then I looked at the group and got curious about other music they may have and seen their ages and was like welp I feel like an auntie. Could I ever call myself a stan no , but hype boy is a cute bop 😭😑. I hear some newer kpop fans saying that this is a newer thing and not actually, 2nd gen voiced these concerns we had people like Suzy from Miss A, Zelo BAP etc.. similar concerns I am just glad that as each generation grow the concerns of these she get voiced louder through social media.
I’m the same age as you and same all these new groups with members way younger than me it feels weird to Stan so I just causally listen to their music now. I feel so old 😭
periodt, i feelexactly the same and will still voice out my distrust and the unfairness that comes from both parents and the company when debuting such young idols, however i cannot deny the musical production by itself is incredibly good
Even though EXO is currently inactive, they are doing solo works. It's not like a completely content starving situation. I believe that EXO will have a group comeback. I am a huge fan of SNSD and they were in hiatus for a long time but now they are having a comeback. Suju and Shinee is also 2nd gen and having comeback. So EXO will also have comeback. Don't fight the feeling was a gift for Eris , and even though the title track was not a banger ( it was simple and fun though), the other songs in the album were pretty good. Especially runaway and paradise.
i will never understand people who stan every single group with a song that they like. how do you stan an entire group because of one song? how does that even work
Literally it takes me a while to even consider myself a fan, I absolutely adore twice and I still don't even call myself a once I can't imagine calling myself a stan for like one or two songs
Yes to this, but also people who like every song by groups they stan. Like, yes, they probably have good discographies in your opinion, but its fine to dislike a song (I remember a friend judging me for saying that I do not like every song by my ults.... Just because their faves play it save doesnt mean I have to like every skz or nct song, they are known for being experimental, so obviously, you will find yourself liking some songs not as much)
@@muhahahahha yes. I totally agree!!! I love NCT, but I dislike many of their songs. It’s completely fine to not like a few songs by your favorite groups, it doesn’t make you less of a fan.
For me I love XdinaryHeros because their music reminds me so much of the band ; set it off. Their music takes a much more alternative/indie and edgy style that differentiates them from the other bands like Lucy or the rose. In songs like strawberry cake they even do the scream singing you’d see in other rock bands or even vkei music and I for one enjoy it
Have you heard Xdinary Heroes' b-sides though? Even if you don't think they're unique, I think their mini album is just objectively great, and some of the songs are quite different from Test Me and HDD. I'm not even sure I'm gonna stan them or not rn but I just love the songs.
I didn’t realize that you were a baby in terms of being a kpop fan. You’re super respectful about your opinions!! I applaud you. Glad you decided to join.
ur the only kpop youtuber i can stand, like you’re the only one i’ve seen that doesn’t disrespect every single idol and you just give your opinions without being rude
tbh i think exo will defo keep going after being done with enlistment. being an idol aint stopping them from starting families, take a look at chen 🤣 and some of them only just started their solo careers so i really think exo’s next step begins after enlistment. im wishing for an ot9 world tour after 2025 😭
Yes sardine I hate it when people think they know what's going to happen to somebody EXO themselves have explained how they want to make music together and stay together they only want to make music for us EXO-L
@@FnadRockss lay is still a EXO member he might not be under SM but he's still a member and he said he will always be their for his brothers. Look at Girls Generation some of them aren't under SM anymore but they just had to come back
@@brandoncrenshaw5027 i'm sorry to be who break yall delusions but Lay wasn't active since years ago. It was a blessing he was in DFTF but to think he would be touring with them in the future is absurd
Personally to me “Life Goes On” wasn’t a song to have a high charts comeback like Dynamite, Fire or DNA but more of a comfort song made by the members for ARMY. The whole concept was around the pandemic and staying true to yourself, it was more of a personal work than one to make high sales. Hope this makes sense because I absolutely love LGO and I think many people criticise it for not selling as well as Dynamite when it was never supposed to :)
It was my first comeback as an ARMY and still one of my fav BTS song (even though i dont stan BTS anymore). I totally agree with the fact that it was more of a comfort song than a "high-chart-sale-ground-breaking" song. Its not even that bad of a song either, so people hating it just doesnt make too much sense to me, but well people have different music taste
Wish i could go back to 2012 and relive exo’s career. I feel lucky to have been there from the start. It’s one of those “you just had to be there” moments. This enlistment period is rough 😩
Yes I became a fan of year after the debut and I've been a fan ever since 10 years in this industry for them EXO is going to continue to make music together at least we know we're almost done with the military next month chanyeol is returning. Baekhyun returns next year and I know by the end of this year the two youngest going to have to go but at least we're almost done
At this point I’m just shocked at how many minors companies are debuting, and how many parents seem to be letting their children debut. It used to be the case that maybe two or three members of a group would be minors, but to have a groups average age be under 18 is so weird to me. When I was 14 I was dead set on being a nurse, then a vet, then an actor, then a singer, my idea of what I wanted to do changed every day. I can’t imagine that most of these kids will still want to be idols three to five years into their contracts, especially with the cruel and hateful way that kpop fans are. I feel sorry for these kids and just hope that companies soon change this way of operating.
LMAO the mcnd clip over the "channel member choice" title card made me think that was the group your channel members had chosen which would have been EXTREMELY funny 🤣
I first got into kpop in autumn 2020, before that I had listened to blackpink but had never really wanted to get into kpop as a whole. Once i discovered EXO it opened me up to the industry, and their music is just incredible, they will always be my favourite group. I'm really happy with the subunit and solo music that they are all releasing in between smaller group comebacks, and i'm happy to wait for them, because none of them have said anything that would indicate they will stop being a group when their enlistment period is over. Chen having a family hasn't stopped him from having schedules and concerts post military, so i think EXO is going to be breaking boundaries when it comes to having families and being top idols. I'm pretty sure there's going to be another comeback this year, i think SM is waiting for Chanyeol to come out before they release it. Maybe it's because i'm in my late-20s and i never felt the need to have loads of content to continue to enjoy them (i can watch NCT content for that theres plenty of it 😂) the inactivity is not such of an issue for me.
Same!I discovered exo during dec 2020 and became an exol in Jan 2021,so i am still a baby exol and for me honestly nothing matter more than music and their music is exactly my taste whether it is their solo or sub units. I just love their music and discography .
I've got a similar story, I listened to Blackpink and I still love them but EXO introduced to kpop they're amazing and I don't think they going anywhere
i've been hearing of so many people like you all who recently got into exo as a well, and its really nice and heartwarming to see. yet i understand how the creator may prefer not getting deeper into them for the reason he stated. Also i realized while listening to this video that although the exos has made it clear to us the end isnt anytime near for them, i think thats something only fans who keep up with them know and understand, and casual listeners like planet minjae would not. Nevertheless i still have a lot of respect for the newer fans and their patience with exo 😂
@@sadiariaz6183 I mean this comment was very much not trying to change anyones mind more reassure others who may be put off from getting into Exo’s music 👍🏽
“bc im 19 right now it would absolutely be weird if i wanted to collect photocards or make a fan page dedicated to someone who might be like 6 years younger than me” ooo exactly! and a lot of people need to hear this actually
If there's any loyal fandom here on kpop I would say it would be EXOLS imagine all they have been through all this past years and still supporting EXO. not a lot of groups that came back from military have fans still waiting for them As someone who stan EXO just last year I can say that I was brave enough to wait for them despite having uncertainty to experience a group comeback. maybe the difference between me and others is that I didn't decide who will I stan it's just that my heart fell in love with EXO on it's own. and as what SUHO said "IF WAITING MAKES YOU HAPPY, THEN IT'S LOVE"
I've been an exol since 2014 and honestly this enlistment era is just draining. Maybe I just miss them and their music but the fact the last full comeback (with promo) was obsession back in 2019...3 years. I've been pretty on and off with keeping up them the past 3 years, but I can't wait for them to comeback and see people either returning to the fandom or new fans entering I also stan tvxq + a plethora of 2nd gen groups, so maybe I'm just used to groups being inactive. But exo's enlistment feels like it's been happening for centuries haha
They couldn't get any attention in their previous fandom so they jump ship to the new hot group. Once they get a bit of clout, they become the most insufferable humans. In Twitter at least lol
Especially the so-called company stan, just because one group is from another company its not worth for you to stan? And if Hybe bought another company the artists immediately go on your stan list with NO ABSOLUTE REASON???
EXO is the group that got me into kpop back in 2013 I heard about them in 2012 I was just too busy to hear the music but I'm glad 2013 got me to hear it and I don't regret a thing. EXO has one of the greatest discographies in K-pop Kings of vocals with the greatest storyline and concept ever SM Entertainment really did a thing with this group they already legendary. But I have to disagree with you just because they want to start a family doesn't mean they have to stop being an idol group EXO has stated many times that they want to go on as a group for many years to come either with SM Entertainment or start their own company. This is a group even on hiatus people can't seem to keep them out of their mouths positive and negative they're one of the greatest and most successful group of all time after 10 years still selling millions of albums billions in streams on Spotify and in the country of China which they dominate and is the biggest market for K-pop. They make too much money SM Entertainment isn't going to lose them that would be stupid. And don't fight the feeling is an amazing song if it ain't for you then it's not for you but a lot of us like it and it was a gift for us EXO-L even though we know they could not promote it since it's military time we're just glad they gave us something. This special album made them become sextuplet million sellers in 2021. Look at what they did that year on hiatus the album sold 1.6 million copies on gaon and 1.3 million on hanteo. 1.1 million on united would album chart. 500.000 copies in china the highest selling foreign album of the year.
I was a bts stan when I first started listening to kpop, but i started in late 2017. So I was here for DNA, Mic Drop, Fake Love, Idol, Boy with Luv, Black Swan, and ON. I haven’t enjoyed any of their releases since MOTS7. I will always appreciate their earlier music and the boys themselves, but I feel like the “old” BTS is gone
I was army from 2014 to 2019 when they released Boy With Luv and I got kicked thinking they would bring something like Boy In Luv. Since Dynamite I don't follow them anymore, the songs they make don't contact me anymore. I'm always sad, about it.
Mine is a totally different story, I became an army thanks to dynamite and the BE album. I've always been more of a classic rock fan, so BTS was something brand new for me. Then I got hooked on their older songs. I'm not the biggest fan of their earlier songs (before HYYH era) unlike most kpop stans. Since I started stanning BTS I discovered Kpop and I'm a casual listener of some songs I enjoy, but I only stan BTS.
I got into kpop fully in 2020 and I love DNA. The song and video just always smack for me. I lost interest with permission to dance because I couldn't understand where they were going with their music.
i totally agree with class:y/new jeans. another slightly less serious point about why i don't want to stan them or super young groups is because they make me, someone born in 2002, feel old and insecure about my age. i know that sounds ridiculous to be saying at age 20, but i got into kpop when i was around 14 or 15 when idols were all my age or older. now, just a few years later, many new groups have all members that are younger than me or the oldest member is my age. and all that happened in just a few years, which shows how fast trainees/idols seem to "expire" in the industry, and it's really frustrating for me. this might sound like it's just me being jealous and i promise it's not, i just hate how older idols/trainees are treated and how big of a factor age is in kpop, whether it's about how old or young an idol is.
I've been stanning kpop since I was a young teen. I'm now in my 30s and I get called a grandma sometimes at concerts by... younger fans. :/ kinda leaves a bad taste in my mouth, esp watching SNSD, all incredibly beautiful and talented women, getting called ajumma when they are my age just makes me feel like the industry is so toxic towards women. we see male idols going on strong into their 30s, but it feels like once female idols go pass 25 it's like they are expiring.....
I'm also born in 2002 and I agree, I don't think you should feel bad about feeling this way bc ageism in the industry is real and a lot of fans replicate that mindset, they act like 24+ idols are old when they are actually at their prime. In addition to them making me feel "old" sometimes, I'd just feel weird to gush over a 14-16 year old now that I'm 20, I think that responsibility just comes naturally once you become an adult, I can acknowledge when a young idol is talented but that's it, if they're born after 2004 i just don't stan
I was also a bit hesitant to fall into EXO planet in 2019 because I knew how inactive they are going to be in the next few years. But I ended up loving them anyway, because they simply have every factors of a kpop group I enjoyed. Maybe because I’m not that dedicated and thirsty for contents from the groups I stan 😂 IMO, you really don’t choose to love someone/something, they just have the characteristics that you love and you would love them every time you hear/see them even though years have passed since you last saw them
imo xdinary heroes have a much more punk-adjacent sound than other kbands, but tbh u're valid, i also haven't stanned bands before i checked out xdinary heroes' stuff.
It's a shame that you have made the decision not to follow exo, one of the most powerful groups in kpop, just to say that many will be with a group when they are high or popular but only the true ones will stay until the end. Good voices, good discography, good people, it's really sad when I see new kpopers who haven't met exo, as I always said a fan is in the good times but more so in the bad
I'm going to heavily disagree with you on Xdinary Heroes. Maybe it's because the only music I listen to outside of K-pop (and some Euro R&B) is rock/band/live-instrument music and I'm a big fan of idol bands, but I just cannot see how they all sound similar. Like, Test Me and Happy Death Day being similar to The Real and Hot Potato? They're completely different! And N.Flying and The Rose sounding similar? They pretty much use completely different styles, with N.Flying having a more spunky, garage-rock style and The Rose using a more refined, indie pop-rock style. Xdinary Heroes are still rookies so they're testing out their sound, but I'd say they're leaning more towards a synth-based pop-punk style with electro-pop influences. They all use instruments, but that's where the similarities end.
i don't really think playing the same instruments takes away the 'uniqueness' of a band. You can play all kinds of genres and experiment with sounds even with just a band set up of 4 instruments. How someone plays an instrument is very individual itself I think. If you take famous guitarists for example. Jimi Hendrix, Slash, Angus Young etc. All of them play the same instrument, but they're all really unique in terms of their style and stage presence. (hope you understand what I mean, english isn't my first language😅)
i stanned Exo in August 2020... i love them... worth it. damn, i was go glad to have known them. the only group i'll probably stan. after Exo, it's byebye kpop for me. 💕
sick of the obsession companies have with debuting whole ass kids in one of the most heinous industries on earth. i'm not one to stir up mobs and bring out the pitchforks but y'all seriously need to start boycotting some of these agencies and stop stanning and putting minors on a fucking pedestal.
Honestly I think there is nothing wrong with stanning older groups especially if you like their discography ...I am 21 and got into kpop through Exo Love shot back in 2018.....from then I watched all Exo's contents and varieties..this made me fall deep in love with EXO so they are my ults but I stan other groups too...my second and third one being redvelvet and Nct ot23....love Mcnd too
I feel like 2018 was such a good year to stan 3rd gens (also the year i first became a fan of kpop) because i still feel like exo and bts were still in their era(?) Back then like they were so big in 2018, and exo was still active at that time so you would still hold an attachment to them compared to stanning them in like 2020
I simply got older with groups and have no energy to move to new groups, i'm a sone and vip. So i just stuck with sm and no hope for yg. I feel like a fossil kpop stan. I Just vibe with whatever sm does, sm is weird so not boring. 🙂
i was really hyped for newjeans after attention and hype boy but... after cookie, I was ready to throw hands. they were doing SO great with their youthful and relatable concept, but seeing a bunch of kids looking seductively at the camera and dropping some innuendos is a bit disturbing. srsly, people already sexualize the word "cookie" and you want young TEENAGERS to talk about how they want a boy to eat their "cookie"? sorry min hee-jin, that's too much for me. P.S: and the fact min heejin is using the excuse that "she's friends with the girls' parents and she knows she's managing kids" makes it even worse.
True like Attention was such a surprising bop so got curious to see Cookie then after watching the mv and after reading the lyrics I just kinda felt so dirty and uncomfortable😖 Like i agree the member's vocals are good and the choreo is good but those lyrics? Yeeesh like what in the obvious innuendo-filled hell was that? They do know they got a straight up 14 year old in the group right?😓 and i read there's some "fans" trying to say the "cookie" is meant to be their "album" like bruh reeeallly?🤨
I have the opposite feeling towards EXO then you do. I started to listen to their music around the same time as you did, but I feel deep into the hole of becoming an EXO-L BECAUSE they are in a hiatus at the moment. That's because it gave me the time to catch up on nearly ten years of content at my own pace along with getting to know the group and the members in way where I wasn't rushing in order to get ready for the next comeback. And then they did came back with "Don't Fight the Feeling", which obviously is my first comeback with them. I loved it, I really did. Yeah, it sucks that it didn't have any promotions whatsoever, but that wasn't really the point of the comeback. Plus, when it was released only five members were active, with only four out of five being in Korea at that time, so there was no real way to promote it. It was just a gift for fans since they hadn't released any music in a while. And for some reason, people keep saying that EXO won't continue after they comeback from military really haven't been paying attention to them to be honest. Kai, Suho, and Chen have been busy with multiple solo performances at different music festivals and concerts, D.O. and Sehun are working on their acting, and of course we have Xiumin is preparing for his solo debut and Lay is busy and successful in China. Their solo careers are blossoming while also carrying on the legacy of the group with them. Mind you, Chen also has a family at home, yet is still continuing his activities as an idol when many people said he wouldn't. And while I do think that they're going to slow down their promotions compared to their early days, they will still release music at least once a year as a group, especially when they're all finished with their enlistment duties. Sorry for that long rant, but I had to get that off my chest. I would like to add that if you don't fully stan a group, then you really shouldn't say whether or not they are going to disband or what have you, simply because they don't interest you with their music or you only casually listen them. And I'm not saying you can't have an opinion, you can, but you have a different POV compared to someone who does follow/stan that group, plus with different flow of information regarding the group as well. So, make sure to be respectful and voice your opinions carefully and respectfully.
it's so nice to see new Ls . I became their fans in 2019 (though DFTF is my first group CB) to be honest, I feel like fans who started to stan them during their hiatus is selfless, without any vauge expectations. we are simply here to enjoy their music ,I know EXO lack content (they need more) but I am happy with it(I also want them to do more but I am not that hungry to the point that I unstan them , I have life outside of kpop as a 25 years old)
@@SadiaIslamShouki "fans who started to stan them during their hiatus are selfless" omg yes! thats an amazing way of looking at it! i personally have *a lot* of respect and admiration for newer fans and their patience with exo :p
@@SadiaIslamShouki i didn't need to comment my taughts bcoz yours is literally may taughts too but i stan them in 2021 and DFTF is my first comeback but even they're on hiatus fall in their hole 😣
Being an L since 2014. Honestly, i listened to other songs from other groups as well, i liked some songs, but not as much as whole album tbh, than i did with EXO. EXO has always comes with a good title song & also side's songs. The entire album is solid. Every single song in the album is verrrrry goood. That's a fact.
I'm jrock fans, and I knew jrock band first before kpop band. Idk how you think band is constrained by their instrument For me they all sounds different How they use and mix the sound of that instrument is different They also can add other sound outside their instruments They all hv their own flavour like no one hv the same voice
Honestly i stan a lot of band groups and i can tell you they do not sound the same and "confined to their instruments therefore cannot create a different sound" that's not true i stan day6, n.flying, onewe, the rose, and xdinary heroes and i can tell you right now just because they use the same instruments that doesn't mean they are only the same sounds because they have a lot of different songs and anytime can use a different instrument to make a song for example onewe, onewe always use the usual instruments but in theyre debut song you can hear a violin. A lot of songs in the band have more of a unique sounds compared to kpop, bands are actually more unique sounded if you listen to more bands and not being confined with only n.flying and lucy. And i can say that i can get into a band more than a preformance group since they focus more on the vocals and song rather than the performance it make you feel more connected to the songs
i've been a silent watcher of your channel for a quite long time and now i decided to comment. you're my favourite kpop youtuber because the way you express your opinions are respectful unlike some channels'. so thanks for that!
She has roughly the same number of songs as Blackpink did at that point after debuting. It's a cheap joke but a valid one. I also don't care how many songs as long as she drops a good video/single frequently enough and is happy with that.
@@thatonerazormain8223 Well I think there has to be a happy medium between JYP's "6 music videos a year" and YG's "Banish Blackpink to the Negative Zone for a year plus every now and then" strategies.
Xdinary Heroes new album is a banger! Actually has the best songs release this year, I still don't like the title track, but all the side track is S tier.
I don't feel like Stanning anymore groups I only Stan two.. Like I don't have the time and I don't have the energy to keep up with many..I feel like kpop is taking a huge space of my life and if I dived into more of it I'll never come out.. I have to study and make a living lol Besides I can't stand any fandom anymore.. I'll just be a casual listener and enjoy kpop music in peace
same, I stan 3 groups currently. I had a journey of stanning multiple groups but I pretty much unstanned them due to not keeping up with content. Consistent groups till now have been Blackpink and BTS. And since they're pretty inactive as whole recently I started stanning Enhypen. While being a casual listener to other groups.
i couldn't agree more with classy and newjeans, it's very disturbing to me. i was so excited when newjeans suddenly dropped their first mv bc im a big hybe fan, gg stan, and love the style of music that newjeans have. so naturally as soon as i'd watched the mv i did a quick google and was so shocked. all the stuff about min heejin as well is very worrying. i don't get why the industry refuses to debut adults. it's such a shame bc i love the music they've released so far and the members seem talented and good individuals. i also just want to say thank you for discussing this topic so well, you're absolutely my fav ktuber and im glad you brought up the issue bc ive been thinking the exact same thing for a while.
I totally agree with you on the newjeans/classy one! It really doesn't feel right to me to know that these people going through rough schedules and possible online harrassment (that seems to come with the job) are literal kids and I could never be interested in someone (as an idol I mean) when I know they're in the same age group as my younger cousins idk. I have the same problem with Enhypen 😭 I really like their music so far but I can't help feeling like a creep when one of them dances in a kind of way...I'm 26, so not that old, but I have actually been age-shamed by other kpop stans before like wtf I'm agewise in the middle of Jungkook, Taehyung, Jimin, Changkyun and so many more
I've been in kpop since around 2012-2013 and I can totally agree with the statement for bts, exo and the younger group. Bts music doesn't sound as good as before since they became hybe label and started trying to get a grammy by releasing (questionable) english songs, I've started stanning bts since dope era(run best song btw) and I felt so disapointed and sad when they released dynamite. It just sound so bland and emotionless compared to their past song. I stopped being a stan however I did enjoy J-hope new release it sound new and interesting but since most armys do not like it I feel like maybe it will have an impact on jhope future releases . Exo is probably not going to last long, i bet they're going to have one full group comeback and will probably go on solo career, they're music is good but the wait is in my opinion not worth as much. I loved them but I think they won't go on like super junior. What bother me in these younger group is the lack of 19+ year olds, because in groups where only one member was 14 (like wonder girl) they still had the other member to act as a guardian in case of any problems or if they were injustice the older could protect their younger members but these groups have no one that has more experience than them and can act as a leader in my opinion. The two producers are definetly suspicious and i wouldn't want my children around them.
I feel the same, I started getting into kpop around the same time. About BTS I agree 100% I hated the rebranding that they received after the exploded globally, all their title tracks sound lifeless and way too westernized (I kinda like Butter tho), the featurings make the songs worse. But I still enjoyed the b-sides (can't say that from their new releases bc I stopped following them closely). I can't get into newer groups because I always feel weird bc they're too young and the songs aren't good enough for me. I feel the same about EXO, I can't see the future for them but I still have hope.
10 years is long enough for a group to be call “long lasting” though 😂 I mean SM group never officially disbanded and f(x) seems like the only group from SM that actually broken apart. Which makes me believe EXO will actually last for very long time. But will be more similar to Girls’ Generation than Super Juniors though. Super Juniors is actually highly educated and smart (All of them have Masters degree and some even have PhD), they even build their own label to self-managed their works as a group. I doubt if there will ever be a kpop group that could do the same thing that they did
For me I would like to know what would you think they will not last long knowing the members themselves have said it many times they want to remain together by the under SM or on their own and with EXO-L one of the biggest and most powerful fandom in K-pop history by Exo side nothing's going to stop them and SM do not do disband groups
Ouch, what a harsh thing to say about a band that has no choice but to go through a period of mandatory service. I don't think stanning boy groups is going to be your thing, unless you're the sort to jump ship cause they have to start enlisting. In the industry, the biggest fear a boy group has is enlistment because they are never sure if fans will think 'it's not worth seeing this band because one guy is missing'. EXO sure, is a unique case since SM is determined to let them have as little comebacks as possible despite having been their breadwinners numerous times. But most bands STILL actively promote even when they have members in the army. This is common practice in the idol industry. Some people definately had different dreams when they leave, and it's great that they are willing to move onto a new chapter rather than remain stationary. But not performing anymore is NOT common in the idol industry. Especially an SM band. People say it's odd to have loyalty to a band, but I stick around because the music EXO produces, even fragmented, is worth following. If you don't want to stan bands like them because of their music, fair enough, that makes sense and is entirely valid. But to not find worth in following their foot path just because they are not a full unit right now? Yikes.
agree about the minor thing. saw that Jyp are planning on debuting an american girl-group , the age requirement for the auditions were 12-16..... people really need to boycott
Its so sad to see why you will never stan exo, and thats a huge problem now on with new kpop fans, they see new groups, beauty faces and even if their music its not good they will stan bc they have content and more... as a stan even in the 2nd gen its so beautiful to see the groups coming back tgt after the military service, at the end of the day all the groups have to service so... been a fan of exo its such a journey but the MUSIC its my thing and theyre slayin with it since 2012💫, even if they aren't tgt right now, the solo contents are glorious, good music as always...
I doubt EXO will disband, knowing they're from SM. EXO has a very good discography. I'm surprised blackpink isnt here, tbh i like some of their songs but i would actually never (stan) them, for a 7 year group to only have less 30 songs in their discography is less appealing (hopefully they will release a full album) and girls be doing military service after every comeback.
I really respect you, your videos and opinions even if I have other ones sometimes. The thing about this channel is that you are literally not hating or trashtalking disrespectfully like other kpop youtubers. You argue factually and respectfully. Keep it up!
You're so right about newjeans and classy, and as a 21 year old, I'm genuinely worried about them. These girls are so young, and you said it yourself: they were shoved into an extremely harmful industry as minors when there will be tons of people online commenting on their looks and picking them apart for the tiniest things. It's absolutely awful and I can't imagine how these girls are juggling school, homework, and everything that comes with being an idol. Not to mention the shit going on with their team and that song Cookie, and the rumors about the person who created the group. No 14 year olds should be debuting.
I definitely agree with the classy/newjeans one. I’m 26 & I’ve seen child stars I know and love be abused to the point of mental breakdowns. I can’t wish that on anyone. Plus newjeans’s song “cookie” made me EXTREMELY uncomfortable, I can’t believe someone thought it was ok to release that! It’s all innuendo & not a single member is over 18. Disgusting. I hope they’re ok, I like some of their songs but I won’t stan. I definitely think it’s inappropriate to debut children.
I think most K-pop affiliated bands are not very imaginative with their instrumentation. If you are creative, standard rock instruments can be a huge palette. You have bands like Hyukoh and Nell who have varying songs and imaginative arrangements while using standard rock instruments. I got into K-pop when you did, but EXO’s music totally entranced me. I’m a big fan of them and their solo work. BTS I have a fondness for cause they got me into Kpop but their newer stuff, oh dear. I do like the new Jhope a lot.
another hyukoh enjoyer 🙏 but anyways, i just like xdinary heroes cause i like emo music lol... i don't need crazy variety from a band, i can just appreciate the guitars and bass and never get tired of it! but i also think we're underrating the synthesizer a little bit. if you bring a laptop and a midi keyboard, you can literally play any sound you want lol
10:53 i was explaining this to someone who said that an 08 liner debuting in lapillus wasn’t a bad thing and their reply to my explanation was ‘if the kid is okay with it, then its okay for us too 💁🏻♂️.’ Im sry what 😃
The fact k-bands are restricted to the instruments they have really doesn't bother me. Xdinary Heroes is my favorite band right now and I feel like it'll always be the case especially because I was able to file them since debut and be attached to the members. I also stan Onewe and enjoy N.Flying, Day6 and Lucy.
I totally agree with the weeekly one. Their concept change threw me completely off and I don’t see them going back to their original concept anytime soon so they became quite irrelevant for me
I know this is all just personal opinion but it really shows a problem of kpop stans: no patience and appreciation for quality. Like having many releases in a year obviously reduces their quality and is mostly the reason why kpop jumps on every new trend (which isn't a good thing). Because of people who can't wait for their faves for even a year the creativity in kpop will just recede and I'm honestly a bit scared for kpop's future...
man, tbh i never imagined i’d have been a kpop fan for twice the time you have bc you have such thoughtful opinions on everything. it’s sad you couldn’t experience 2018 kpop, i was a v new fan then but wow was it magical.
SAMEEEE!! I have been listening to kpop since 2012 but became an actual fan in 2018 and i miss that era so much! The fandoms, the music, the peaks of groups🥹
I think I just have a very different approach to fandom and stan-ing than you, but your positions are reasonable and respectable. For BTS specifically, I cared about the whole body of work because while it isn't new, it's still new TO ME. I discovered BlackPink many years ago but I didn't really know what a "stan" was and I wasn't that invested in the group, I was just a casual listener and thought of them like any other non-Korean group. I discovered BTS in September 2021 and I haven't taken a rest since, I'm deeply into being ARMY now. It helped a lot that for their last concert rotation, they played a bunch of their older popular songs, showing that those songs aren't "gone", and that new music doesn't have to replace old music, it adds to it. I also took the time to listen through their entire, extensive discography and for me, that was more than enough to stan. I do totally understanding only wanting to dedicate your time and effort to groups who are currently putting out new content at the pace you like, and of the kind you like, it just isn't an approach I am taking for myself. I don't feel that it's dissing them to say that the new stuff is different and not to everyone's taste, mine included. But I'm patient, and I can stan other groups while I wait. (And I'm looking forward to more solo work!) RE: XH... I disagree, but that really comes down to taste. Day6 doesn't do it for me, but XH absolutely does. I think it's just a lot about context and what speaks to you. I like western bands too and it's never bothered me that they all "have the same instruments". Ultimately, production is still a huge variance and it sounds unique enough that I jam out. New Jeans and Class:y... I didn't even realize Class:y was so young! I like one song from them and their music is good, but I will be making the same choice not to stan on both groups. Le Sserrafim was a hard sell and they at least average above 18- even if it's quite close. New Jeans member being 14 is just too young for me- and she started her career at EIGHT!
The maknae of NewJeans is only a year older than Sims 3, released in 2009, I remember playing that when I was 8/9 in elementary school, it's unsettling how they're debuting someone so young and their producer is creepy.
Even tho you just mentioned 4 groups that i stan (that being fromis, xh, aespa and newjeans- i'm 15 if that helps) i see where you're coming from and i still really like your channel. People can have different opinions and i don't think most of the kpop stans understand that (sadly).
About BTS, I was an army since 2016 and the music was just chef's kiss. A lot of Hiphop still some great ballads and just amazing rap line I was such a big fan that I bought their "love yourself Tear" (one of their best work) album and did collected photocard's too. But after Dynamite and even the MOTS7 album I don't know why it just doesn't feel same anymore. I just don't know why, I love the guys, believe me I love each one of them alot. But something changed.......... their music just doesn't talk to me anymore. One of the biggest reason of BTS's success and adoration was their Relatable music, & I just don't feel attached to them anymore they don't seem relatable anymore. It's been 2 years I have listened to them by myself and just yesterday I listened to Danger and still with you because it was on shuffle and damn I had the biggest smile on my face. So yeah that's that. I don't know if theat magic will happen again but I am happy with their old discography and that's more that enough for me to love them. I don't stan them anymore, but I respect them.
For the case of XH, I kinda/a lot disagree. They stand out because their music is original, powerful and I love their concept. They stand out because they are talented, and they try the best for their fan; just take a look at their choreography video for Test Me. Most of them didn’t train to dance, the leader is a hummmm not really a good dancer (sorry Gunil 😂) even if he’s amazingly cute, but they still did it. Their covers and B-sides are insanely good too !
I’m still a minor, but I remember when EXO debuted, it was revolutionary for me. I was there for OT12 EXO, and I remember being upset when Kris, Tao and Luhan left the group. Their whole superpower concept was just so so cool to me and i remember my sister even made me customized mugs with my favorite members power symbols (D.Os super strength, Xiumins ice, and Chen’s lightning), and i think she also got me a necklace and ring with D.Os representative symbol on it. EXOs prime was for sure their earlier days. But yeah, EXO is highly inactive and the small amount of music they have put out is meh compared to their past releases. Even now, I find it hard to see how someone would be able to get into them :( As for BTS, my sister introduced me to them maybe around Dope era? And I remember being so obsessed with them for a couple years, until they released Blood Sweat and Tears. And unfortunately I’ve never felt attached to any of their songs after.
I won't say , their new releases are totally meh, DFTF doesn't have EXO quality for being their title track but the the b-sides are really good, also exo as solo are pretty solid , it shouldn't be that hard to stan them now , Almost all of them released top tier solos(especially when groups are releasing noises) , 2 members in new group which bring a lot of new fans too, their acting projects bring tons of fans .And their newer fans are more dedicated to their music(rather then their life)most older kfan maybe left , it's newer intl fan who are carrying them even in hiatus with little music.
@@SadiaIslamShouki yes their members are doing really well solo wise, especially Kai, but as a group I feel like I would find it a bit difficult to really stan them now. But tbh this might be a me problem, I grew up with songs like Mama, Growl, History, Overdose, etc. So songs like Tempo, Love Shot, and DTFTF just don’t match the quality at all for me. But I acknowledge that is probably more of an older fan problem. EXO is such a great group, it’s nice to know that they still have so many international fans supporting them.
Aespa and Xdinary Heroes being the only groups I stan and the both of them being in this list just makes me want to die inside lol. I'm kinda sad because while I wasn't a fan of Test Me, the b-sides themselves are such bangers. Strawberry and Pirate are my favourite. For aespa and stage presence, yeah I get what you mean. Even with Winter as my bias, there are some things she's lacking and the group, while having amazing chemistry offstage, aren't as coordinated onstage. However, I have seen noticeable improvements this comeback. Have you seen their inkigayo stage? I was just drawn to them so much. That stage was also when Winter wore a blue counterpart for her yellow showcase outfit and (in my biased eyes) she was really captivating! If you haven't checked that stage out, please do! What I really like about your videos is that you calmly explain your opinions and while we may have differing opinions, you state your case so respectfully. You're truly one of the only ktubers I actually look forward to watching 👀
As an adult who remembers when Britney Spears was young, and remembers Miss A and Good Girl Bad Girl I am very uncomfortable with New Jeans. Attention could pass as something a Disney Channel Pop Star might put out but it's pushing it. Also I 2nd the point about kids in the idol industry. It's exhausting, painful and god awful. Hell there was a reason Britney snapped all those years ago, and I don't want that to happen again
Yes they have their solo careers but they're solo careers is also bringing new fans to the group career EXO is getting new fans everyday every year and they're always in the top 10 a boy band rankings every month on hiatus. And they're on the top of the list a boy groups with the biggest album sales in the last 10 years. Vogue magazine just released 33 most favorite boy bands of all time EXO is on the list and they talk about how popular they are and how popular they continue to get even after all these years it's because of their pure talent their Brotherhood and the bond they have and definitely because they have one of the most loyal and strong fandom in the world EXO-L isn't going anywhere
About the underage idols, I understand what you mean when it comes to not supporting the debut of such young kids. I just don't completely get the thing about stanning people younger than you. Like, stanning doesn't mean I sexualize the idol or view them in a romantic light either. I actually don't feel like that about any idol at all, even the ones my age that I find attractive. I'm 29, so I stan a lot of groups with members younger than me, but I view them as artists, not as boyfriends and girlfriends.
it’s not because of the boyfriend/girlfriend thing though. some people just feel weird about obsessing over, saving pics of, writing fan letters, etc for someone who’s that much younger than them. also there’s a difference between maybe being 29 and stanning someone who’s 23 (both adults) compared to being 19 and stanning a 13 year old. everyone has their own limits on who they feel comfortable stanning and who they don’t.
If you don't stan Xdinary Heroes after the uniqueness & diversity of their first comeback HELLO, WORLD! then idk what to say. Just because the instruments of a band are similar, does not make their uniqueness any less 😂 ANYWAYS, how do you feel about them after their cb? Do they still not stand out?? (genuine q)
As a person who listens to a lot of rock music and even in the Korean industry its usually bands i listen to i would like to say that xdinary heroes are very different from bands i have heard like i stan lots of different bands with lots of different genres and languages what i feel like is people need to understand the variety of genres that can be created with the same instruments bands like lucy are obviously very cool but its more about the different genres they create with those instruments than the instruments themselves.... if that makes any sense
valid points for all of these , as someone who is even older than you are, I couldn’t see myself stanning either newjeans or class:y , I do find their music to be relatively catchy and I’ll enjoy it but that’s about the extent of it. I don’t really stan groups in general so I guess that’s kind of a moot point but I probably won’t go out of my way to watch their content that isn’t directly related to their music if that
I can totally relate to the New Jeans/Classy opinion. I'm 18 and while I did stan groups where some younger members were 14 at that time as well, I was still about their age back then. Now it just feels a bit weird to stan kids when I'm about to enter university next month
EXO in their prime was absolutely unmatched. I got into kpop in 2015, so I’ve had some time to enjoy them. It makes me sad that they aren’t making new music for us to enjoy.
i started stanning bts in april of 2021, and somehow attached so much sentimental value to them as a group. possibly because they introduced me to kpop, which has become a huge part of me now. so yes i still stan them and they'll always have my heart for that reason, and i fell in love with a lot of other groups too. for me BE helped me through hard times and i think they have an untouchable discography. i think theyre great writers and producers, i am excited for their solo works, and really enjoyed j-hopes edgy jack in the box album and concept. yes butter and ptd are mid but still fun and i felt all the hype with the butter release. very good video!
you said everything about classy and newjeans so well! the members of these groups are my age, some even a year younger and while I still enjoy listening to their music, the fact that this young girls have to go through all this makes me uncomfortable, i can’t imagine the pressure they must be feeling and the worst thing about it is that the producers and even fans don’t even treat them their age.
They're literally all much younger than me.. I can't stand them cos their manager is creepy as hell
Honestly I feel like Classy is fine cuz if their concept and songs are pure innocent but yeah minors
IZ had the more rock-sound too, but changed up their sound afterwards and I'm not sure how long it'll take for them to disband sadly enough :((
Day6 on the other hand is also more of that laid-back sound.
Of course this is all a generalization as they have songs of all kinds tbh, but I was definitely a bit upset that the XD section basically meant "band music sounds all the same" and I can't understand that at all
@@myra0224 yeah....is IZ disbanding 😭
Purple kiss >>>
@@wongo6828 i think the oldest 4th gen gg in terms of average age is (G)I-DLE
THEY ARE NOT CHILDREN
2 are 18
the others are 16-17
and ONE IS 14 which is the only one considered a child.
@@esratj9819 it doesn’t make it ok tho. Like juice said, there’s literal kids in the group. Middle schoolers. that’s not Ok.
@@Hmmmbrose The youngest member is 14😭🙄 Truly unacceptable
@@Nonameniniz and min heejin is such an odd lady… her house being filled with pictures of young girls like WHAT
I absolutely agree with New Jeans and Class:y. I just checked their ages, and that is actually really unsettling. I hate how the kpop industry thinks it’s okay to debut minors, especially minors THAT young. It’s so gross.
FRR and most 14 y/o cant even get a regular job in most places 🤨😟
@Ophelià Rose Yep. That’s why I don’t stan groups with minors.
Agreed, I felt this way towards IVE but they didn’t receive any backlash which i was confused about because I could literally only focus on their ages
Krystal debuted in a group of all minors except Victoria

its so heartwarming and wholesome to see older & younger exols come together and talk about exo. exo is a 10 years old group which has been blown us away since debut. a lot of so-called exols left but a lot of new exols came as well during their enlistment era. and most of us arent the type of fans that thirsty of comeback and stuff. i would say that's cool. the fandom seems chill nowadays and focuses on their life outside kpop much more. most of us are grown up exols, which makes the fandom grew more matured. even me myself, is in my 20s and a casual exo stan, who listens to their songs (+ other groups' songs) and hardly get into any other groups. i just think that exo is home, i dont need any other groups' content to fulfill my life :) that's my thoughts.
A pandemic EXO-l here 🥺💕

Yo newjeans and fromis9 ain't even in the same company, newjeans is in ador and fromis9 is in i forgot what's the company but it's not ador.
I feel so old 😭
periodt, i feelexactly the same and will still voice out my distrust and the unfairness that comes from both parents and the company when debuting such young idols, however i cannot deny the musical production by itself is incredibly good
@@reinarain5307 same 🤧
i saw ppl said NewJeans’s songs is newer as well 😂 trend just goes around and we are become the old one.
Especially runaway and paradise.
i will never understand people who stan every single group with a song that they like. how do you stan an entire group because of one song? how does that even work
Literally it takes me a while to even consider myself a fan, I absolutely adore twice and I still don't even call myself a once I can't imagine calling myself a stan for like one or two songs
or people who stan groups that have 4 songs
Yes to this, but also people who like every song by groups they stan. Like, yes, they probably have good discographies in your opinion, but its fine to dislike a song
(I remember a friend judging me for saying that I do not like every song by my ults.... Just because their faves play it save doesnt mean I have to like every skz or nct song, they are known for being experimental, so obviously, you will find yourself liking some songs not as much)
Idk some people even stan group before debut :)

For me I love XdinaryHeros because their music reminds me so much of the band ; set it off. Their music takes a much more alternative/indie and edgy style that differentiates them from the other bands like Lucy or the rose. In songs like strawberry cake they even do the scream singing you’d see in other rock bands or even vkei music and I for one enjoy it
Strawberry cake yessss
Have you heard Xdinary Heroes' b-sides though? Even if you don't think they're unique, I think their mini album is just objectively great, and some of the songs are quite different from Test Me and HDD. I'm not even sure I'm gonna stan them or not rn but I just love the songs.

This enlistment period is rough 😩
you're incredibly lucky!

If you know, you know. Exo aren't going anywhere.

500.000 copies in china the highest selling foreign album of the year.

would that mean saturday drops songs every saturday?
Since I started stanning BTS I discovered Kpop and I'm a casual listener of some songs I enjoy, but I only stan BTS.
we are the same person lmao
ever since covid you people forgot where you came from and since you dont have nothing to do yall just hate anybody because you dont have a life
I got into kpop fully in 2020 and I love DNA.
Same ageism is such a problem in the industry I can’t stand it when they make it the main topic of a conversation.
Maybe because I’m not that dedicated and thirsty for contents from the groups I stan 😂
IMO, you really don’t choose to love someone/something, they just have the characteristics that you love and you would love them every time you hear/see them even though years have passed since you last saw them
imo xdinary heroes have a much more punk-adjacent sound than other kbands, but tbh u're valid, i also haven't stanned bands before i checked out xdinary heroes' stuff.

They all use instruments, but that's where the similarities end.
the thing about EXO is that their korean fans might leave them already but they are still gaining a lot of international fans as of the moment
i don't really think playing the same instruments takes away the 'uniqueness' of a band. (hope you understand what I mean, english isn't my first language😅)

they were doing SO great with their youthful and relatable concept, but seeing a bunch of kids looking seductively at the camera and dropping some innuendos is a bit disturbing. srsly, people already sexualize the word "cookie" and you want young TEENAGERS to talk about how they want a boy to eat their "cookie"? sorry min hee-jin, that's too much for me.
P.S: and the fact min heejin is using the excuse that "she's friends with the girls' parents and she knows she's managing kids" makes it even worse.
Same i was so excited for ther debut and then cookie happened :/
True like Attention was such a surprising bop so got curious to see Cookie then after watching the mv and after reading the lyrics I just kinda felt so dirty and uncomfortable😖 Like i agree the member's vocals are good and the choreo is good but those lyrics? Yeeesh like what in the obvious innuendo-filled hell was that? They do know they got a straight up 14 year old in the group right?😓 and i read there's some "fans" trying to say the "cookie" is meant to be their "album" like bruh reeeallly?🤨
Yeah Cookie was a mistake after getting off to a really good start.
straight agree with classy and newjeans, even when the members get older, they'll still be super young anyway
I like what you write
Idk how you think band is constrained by their instrument
For me they all sounds different
How they use and mix the sound of that instrument is different
They also can add other sound outside their instruments
They all hv their own flavour like no one hv the same voice
As a fellow Jrock fan I totally get what you're saying. I have 5 favourite Jrock bands and none of them sound anything alike.
💙💙
Somi signed with YG. She's lucky to have 8 songs.
omg 🤣
she is mainly signed under the black lable they have more frequent comebacks
She has roughly the same number of songs as Blackpink did at that point after debuting. It's a cheap joke but a valid one. I also don't care how many songs as long as she drops a good video/single frequently enough and is happy with that.
@@jkyle1018 yess, she also gets longer break than most soloists and kidols(yg in general gives more generous breaks which i think is needed)
@@thatonerazormain8223 Well I think there has to be a happy medium between JYP's "6 music videos a year" and YG's "Banish Blackpink to the Negative Zone for a year plus every now and then" strategies.
Xdinary Heroes new album is a banger! Actually has the best songs release this year, I still don't like the title track, but all the side track is S tier.
exactly my thoughts! Like they are sooo good i was speechless.
I could not stop listening to all of their songs on the album, test me the title track is actually my favorite :)
I feel the same about EXO, I can't see the future for them but I still have hope.
same
I agree with all of this
10 years is long enough for a group to be call “long lasting” though 😂 I mean SM group never officially disbanded and f(x) seems like the only group from SM that actually broken apart.
I mean xdrary heros has they most unique b sides unlike other k bands imo
Fr. Imo any song could have easily become title track In their album
Maybe you never heard of ONEWE 😉😉
Onewe and Lucy?
I agree
The NJ and Classy one is so true I like NJ music but I would never stan them at this time because of how young they are
I respect your opinion, but i loved every song on their Hello World album. Although I'm a complete sucker for electric guitar in any form 😅
Xdinary heroes just dropped a freaking choreography video of Test Me I can’t. No matter what people say, that kband is one of a kind
I find xh and day6 very different in sound xh is more punkish and day6 more classic vintage rock to me
I really respect you, your videos and opinions even if I have other ones sometimes.
STRAIGHT OFF THE BAT IM HEARTBROKEN
Yes as if most rock/ metal bands didn't consist of the same instruments yet make things sound so different
I respect his point but its just a pity 😭
I totally agree with the weeekly one. Their concept change threw me completely off and I don’t see them going back to their original concept anytime soon so they became quite irrelevant for me
xdinary heroes pirates is a masterpiece tho 😭
Ikr 🥲
I like Strawberry Cake
Their whole album is a no skip for me which is weird since that doesn't happen that often + that's not the type of music i usually listen to
Yeah I’m not giving a single dollar to min heejin
(And I'm looking forward to more solo work!)
RE: XH...
New Jeans member being 14 is just too young for me- and she started her career at EIGHT!
why yall stop yourselves from enjoying music ...
The maknae of NewJeans is only a year older than Sims 3, released in 2009, I remember playing that when I was 8/9 in elementary school, it's unsettling how they're debuting someone so young and their producer is creepy.
I feel like BlackSwan joined a lot of peoples "never stanning" lists like two days ago xdd
What genius thought that debuting kids that haven’t even finish middle school is a great idea
Every one should stan seventeen they are amazing
as a flover first and foremost i am terrified for fromis at all times so i don’t blame you
For the case of XH, I kinda/a lot disagree.
Even now, I find it hard to see how someone would be able to get into them :(
As for BTS, my sister introduced me to them maybe around Dope era?
EXO is such a great group, it’s nice to know that they still have so many international fans supporting them.
it's really unsettling how debuting at 18/19/20 etc. is considered an "oLd" age to debut at.
Just change Aespa with TXT and i will sign everything you said about Xdinary Heroes! They are uniquer than it might seem at first💕
As an adult who remembers when Britney Spears was young, and remembers Miss A and Good Girl Bad Girl I am very uncomfortable with New Jeans.
Are you their PR manager?
(genuine q)
I stanned the, after test me because they were so unique to me😭😭
As a person who listens to a lot of rock music and even in the Korean industry its usually bands i listen to i would like to say that xdinary heroes are very different from bands i have heard like i stan lots of different bands with lots of different genres and languages what i feel like is people need to understand the variety of genres that can be created with the same instruments bands like lucy are obviously very cool but its more about the different genres they create with those instruments than the instruments themselves.... if that makes any sense
valid points for all of these , as someone who is even older than you are, I couldn’t see myself stanning either newjeans or class:y , I do find their music to be relatively catchy and I’ll enjoy it but that’s about the extent of it. I don’t really stan groups in general so I guess that’s kind of a moot point but I probably won’t go out of my way to watch their content that isn’t directly related to their music if that
cookie ' s lyrics are VERY suggestive ..
Im not accepting butter slander from someone who stans blackpink!!
Same
BTS for me is for a lifetime thing
I agree with all of these.
I’m still gonna stan NewJeans though because, being the age I am, I find their music relatable and chill.
