A great video Sinzar, very nice to hear dev thoughts. On a personal level, as this is probably your last ffbe gl video, thank you for how much you carried me in this game, I always felt I understood the mechanics of the game but for some reason, putting it all into practice for clash and dv was always a roadblock. I also enjoyed the several times of being on the weekly news video so thank you for having me!
Thank you so much for carrying all of us through this magnificent quest that was FFBE. I wish this game could keep going forever, with your videos and boss guides. It was honestly one of the best gaming experiences I had!
Thank you for all your videos and coverage and commentary over the years. Thank you for this! The insight on how they handled maintenance was shocking yet unsurprising. I hope we get to see Lasswell, Rain, and Fina again.
@53:00 Man, I remember when Reberta was released and how excited I got seeing how awesome both her kit and sprite were. That was around the time that the GLEX units fully took over the game because of how dynamic their kits were; one form was all about support, while the other was all about damage, and that was the dynamic that brave shift units were really needing.
Thank you for getting this out to the public. Also, great respect for your discretion. It was audible how you strained to keep certain matters private. Your gravitas and the obligation you demonstrate towards your contacts is commendable. It was difficult and such efforts deserve commendation. Even when I really really want to know those answers. We suffer together, in this regard. But that just makes the secrets all the more valuable and their keeping all the more meritorious. Again gratitude for all your efforts and good counsel.
Thank you so much for this video, your guides, for 8 years of content with good, bad and ugly moments shared with us. All the bes for you and everyone here.
Hey there, I'm Malphasie's creator, Enkou. I happened to see this video pop up in my recs and decided to give it a watch before turning in for the evening. It was a good thing that I did. I was happy to see questions in this interview still thinking of the fan characters like mine, and I'm a broken record over how grateful I am for that. I'm also glad to have learned about FFBE respecting the privacy of Shaly and her family regarding her passing. In that final send off video with Hiroki-san, I was a little hurt/confused that Shaly wasn't mentioned, but now I understand why and I can rest easier about that. I was just thinking about how I wish I had the opportunity to ask the devs if they had fun creating Malphasie's vision card (the destroyed home one) of all things, though I'm sure they did. I saved the storyboard and .gif of it recently for posterity after EoS, and I can't get over how well they brought my concept to life. As a side note, FFBE has never contacted me regarding the NV unit/two vision cards of hers (understandably- as mentioned, we do not own the rights to these characters), so they were a surprise to me when they released. Although... Actually, I just remembered. I did get a message one time, a year or two ago, from someone who told me they hoped they did (Malphasie) justice. I never got a reply back, but I assume that it was one of the devs who worked on her original unit. I hope they know that yes, they did, very much so haha. Thankful for coming across this video today, and for all my precious memories of FFBE. Be well, everyone.
I did that for mobius when it went down but eventually Uninstall because I didnt realize I could just delete data and keep app. Since they deleted our accounts all its doing is cleaning space on our phone or device
Quit playing FFBE during 2022, but still watched your videos as you helped me from when I started till I quit so huge thanks to you Sinz! Sad to see that the game has EoS'ed but your guides will be missed. Shaly shall remain in our memories as well!
i found your contact within the last year and can honestly say it helped me more than any other content i used prior. it sucks that ffbe went out like it did and i find it hard to find any good replacements to it on mobile. i'm gonna keep hoping the jp server works out a way to make it english compatible
Aight, just in the first two minutes... Gumi ignored us for years and now they are actually trying to find out who wants to give us answers? Certified bruh moment.
The fact that they test updates on the LIVE server has bigger implications than you think... Imagine something like TH-cam or Netflix worked on a new feature, and had to take down the service for hours to make sure that launching the update would work well. Without a testing server, it basically means that every maintenance, for the past 8-9 years on GL and JP, the devs had to literally do the equivalent of working on a freaking plane engine in mid flight, vs doing the engine upgrades SAFELY on the ground, make sure it works and then install it on the plane when it lands. Honestly? Props to them. As for EoS, as was mentioned, units and content are planned months in advance. So when EoS was confirmed back in April, they had already had stuff planned, and add the compulsory 60 day timeframe before shutting down the servers, it kinda made sense why it came around 6 months later. Either that or they had to align EoS date with other dates like contract/service renewals and other legal mumbo jumbo
Exactly, about the UAT/production server thingy. And, they did this for ... EIGHT years. Where in the blue hell is the professionalism in the first freaking place? This is a big reason why they cannot implement new features with confidence - they cannot test things out regularly enough, and tend to stick to the tried-and-tested. *shrugs ...
The end of service news completely went under my radar. I'll still miss this game, even though I've checked out of it for what feels like a year now. I always wanted the remakes of the old sprite Final Fantasy games to be made in the style that manifested in FFBE. No derpy chibi characters or anything, just some real high quality animated sprites. This game kind of fulfilled that for me, and you'd get to collect all kinds of different versions of them as new units of the same character came out. A lot of these questions and answers make a lot of sense, and brings a lot of insight into the problems a lot of development studios usually go through; probably especially one in Japan where employer to manager relationships are a lot more strict and professional. Employees aren't expected socially to push back against management, and that's at an extreme detriment to the project. Normalize listening to your staff, they probably know better than you. Sometimes though you just have a bad manager that wants things done their way, at the cost of everything, and if you can't get upper management to pay attention and see the problem, you're just stuck with them sabotaging your project.
22:00 so GLB died because of JP as JP lives on (joking but I'd assume the "failure" of CoW:A was a big investment that fell on it's face just before EoS) 25:00 IMO Shaly was immortalized in game via Poppy. As I replayed S1-3 before EoS, reading her dialog you could really see Shaly's personalization in her translations, with the random Spanish weaved in and the character's personality. (on the subject of S3 since they reused assets for the last CoW bosses, they shoulda used some S3 bosses like some Hollow Dragons or the Will of Equilibrium's true form) 36:00 IMO during live service it was worth it, but as EOS became reality would a been step in preventing a version sync (BUT there were already loads of those before CoW I'd assume, maybe not as big of a step but who knows)
this has been the most hard for me i didnt think it would hurt so hard. I only started playing 2 and a half years ago thanks to a friend of mine who was playing since day one and got involved in so many things. when the EoS announcement happened, I realized I never finished Season 3 story at all and started to rush through as much as I can and process the story all the way through, and Did finished it just a day before closure, and wont get to really see Season 4 as intended or other stories overall. so many characters I got to pull that were original that became favorite just from the design of there sprites and animations. Loved seeing fav characters from other games in here as well as different vers. I know I never really Grasp the full tactical of the game, most of the time my friend gave me a video and I tried to match it as much as I could, always a struggle when the stop gap for me was always not having specific items or abilities equitable to make it work since most were locked behind events I never got to do and never will. I felt proud how many people I got from basically F2P levels, I barely spend a dollar on Lapis or on things and only just grabbed what I liked the look of, or if my friend tells me i should (one example of Flaming Aether rain, told me I should get it. and through 1 step up, pulled him 4 times... XD). My Enjoyment of the game was mostly from the sprite designs, the sound, music and feeling from all of the really cool animations work. the way the game played as a RPG I liked and those exploration stages too (did notice how much it lacked in Season 3 so I can tell how development kinda went), Season 1 story encapsulated me a lot with Rain, Lasswell and Fina over time. and Season 2 being So BEAUTIFUL with every moment gripping my seat. While I never got the full tactical knowledge of the game and kinda just threw units out and guess work. ignored most boss events when I saw Difficulty 200 to 500 cause I knew I never would with out informational overload I was already dealing with. but thats fine. my experience was for the game casually then seriously. but even so, being one of the first mobile games like this I got to play ever, I will miss it dearly for the 2 and a half years I played. Thank you Devs, and Sinzar as some of your videos helped from my friend showing my way.
this video feels like a closure from an ex that comes from undisclosed to end lol, thank you Sinzar!. also a piece if advice to answer any questions without having to deal with lawsuits, don’t forget to always says “allegedly” so anything that comes out cannot be used against you or the developer who reached out to answer.
Well i want to say again thank you for that journey that we followed together I'm frustrated that i didn't even take time to finish the story which was great for all i did, but well...did most of it anyway.
Nice to see someone asked about FFTA, I dunno how long I hoarded for that specific banner before I gave up and went to a hiatus and unfortunately never accomplished a return. Thank you though for putting all the effort in resolving some questions. It was nice to catch up to all of what happened inbetween. Wish you all the best.
Man I can't believe it's finally over, played since launch lost my first account then ended up making a new one right before the first Fan Festa in Los Angeles. Still remember my first CG unit too (Blossom Sage Sakura) Was a member on the Brave Exvius forums before that was shut down, I had so much fun playing this game through highschool. I loved this game even if it did have problems, also was hell being a sole F2P player sometimes lmao 1:14:00 man I'm kind of upset now with this knowledge, ah well hopefully one day Brave Exvius can return by either a fan made version or an official offline mode and or new game.
Hey Sinzar, I think you underestimate how much people enjoy your videos, live streams, and overall content you put out. Maybe some short videos of the indie games or having a guest while streaming a game would give us some quality content.
Any question about why something happened with regards to content/units could have been answered with "Money." For some things you could also say "manpower" but I'd argue that boils down to money as well. As far as different games: What makes a game a different game? If you add a unit to one game, but not the other, is that a different game? Can you cut and paste (and sometimes not paste) a schedule and say "See, not EXACTLY the same, so it's a different game!"? If they were different games, why would global have to balance around the JP game? It's not like something that happens in JP (almost) inevitably becomes GL content, right? Also, how exactly did event bugs transfer from JP FFBE to a "different" game? We knew and could anticipate a GL schedule based on JP's schedule. Otherwise, we wouldn't call it skipped/late content. We knew if things were released out of order, if they were 3 weeks late, or eventually if they were skipped entirely. I wish they were different games. Having 3-6 months foresight on power creep assured that there was always something better just 3-6 months away. By "under the hood" I can only imagine that meaning "different producers" or different methodologies for fleecing the playerbase. I can accept "different versions of the same game" but not "different games." IMO, this was just a scapegoat to get out of actually explaining the reason for those changes. Which again, IMO, is that those changes are mostly made for monetary reasons. (i.e. this unit had poor sales in JP, these unit upgrades made certain future units sell poorly.) Not that I blame them for learning from mistakes on a business level, but let's just be honest about the reasoning... Regarding the dev response to CoV: Tedious was the flavor of the game. EVERY farming event was tedious. It was the same fight 40-80 times, with the same units on repeat. And for the first 7 years we got that at least every other week, guaranteed. Most events seemed to be "throw something out there that takes them 10-40 hours to complete, call it a week" While half the units seemed like "sell them a new unit to lessen that grind by a few hours." One last complaint is that the GL version was so stingy on the freebies from day 1. Again, certainly money related. JP anniversary rewards, JP world reset, JP's unit fragments, or just the system they had in place to boost newcomers to a decent level with a good amount of starting lapis. I'm not sure if this is a "grass is greener on the other side" situation, but it sure seems that they had an interest in holding onto JP players but less of an interest into holding on to GL players.
I’m still watching the whole video, but the CoV answer feels like such a cop out. People didn’t want it expanded instead of other content but in addition to what we were already getting (when we actually got new content). Saying those rewards could have been easily farmed in other events instead means they really didn’t get what we actually wanted there.
I emailed the support team of FFBE a month or so ago about adding the language packs to JP and they completely misunderstood what I was asking and they never answered.
Nice to see some answers. sucks they got scared off. Honestly the game lasting this long impressed me, I thought it was gonna end like 2 years back. Personally lost enjoyment largely with every new rarity added and it was less and less bringing older units with them. GG everyone. Hope you find something else to enjoy. I am currently jumping onto the limbus company ship and enjoying it greatly.
LB drain. Damn. That's neat. They really should have a UAT server, so that they can test out new features before a patch (maintenance). Damn. A shoutout to ...the 2* king Clyde. That sprite ...
RIP: FF Brave Exvius FF Record Keepers FF Opera Omnia FF Mobius FF7 The First Soldier Why did Square enix got rid of all their mobile live service games?
I really wished they had made a permanent offline version. I wonder if they were to take the story and make it the official FF XVII? That would be cool in my opinion but many may not like that idea.
I always wanted to know what happened with the source code of the game being leaked many years ago and if the person or people behind it still have it in their hands.
@@SeiyaSoiya-un4jj Man, I hate season 3 so much lol. When they reintroduced all of the characters from previous seasons, I was like "why were they there? They have no business being there."
Totally understood about the dev. Appreciate they still made an effort. But I still hope Gumi goes bankrupt. I just wanted JP translated so FF units weren't eclipsed all the time instead of a lot if changes I was never interested in.
And so, this is the true end of ffbe. Sad to see it go, and shocked i didn't play until the end. I figured the game was doomed when they said there would be no global unit enhancements. Good times running back and forth on a shoreline exploration farming materials for a 20% attack equipment. Anyways, goodbye Sinzar and everyone else along the way.
King's Raid a game that is on life support and more dead than a dead game is still online and running, so I guess it doesn't cost much to keep a service running.
Has anyone pointed out to you before that you remind them of Hoe. Math? Its the diving deep into details and sounding / talking in the same way. Completely different topics of course but that doesn't matter.
I think JP not making an English language pack is due to Legal Issues. Currently they only have to follow the Japanese Gacha Laws. If they opened up the game, and spending, to other countries they would need to adhere to local laws. Overall I think they have decided it isn't worth it.
Probably... but considering test servers tend to be internal, or at least are easily made internal, it would be relatively inexpensive to set up a small mock environment for pre-live testing. I would ponder it needing a couple more QA staff.... but if you only have 6 hours to test it on live, you either already have that staff OR you're either wasting money and time by making the Devs playtest and fix it on the fly with no idea what / where the issues are. Not having a test server, in this day and age, is mind-boggling. Look at what happened to that security company like 6 months ago when they pushed an update live without testing it and like 80% of businesses and transportation was just non-existent while IT departments the world over scrambled to reinstall and reboot everything. Granted part of it was basically kernel level access completely breaking how the system booted.... but still you get a good idea of why test servers are so important and rarely neglected when a business has a lucrative service/product
@@Samael1113 "Not having a test server, in this day and age, is mind-boggling. Look at what happened to that security company like 6 months ago when they pushed an update live without testing it" EXACTLY. It does not take rocket science expertise to set it up ONE TIME. And then they can test potential new features on the UAT server. Gumi sucks. Gumi truly sucks.
in that I mean they wanted to challenge the people at the top tier and became obsessed with it instead of focusing on all the rest of the player base. That is what that comment seemed to state to me. It was one of the many factors but still one of the factors. That they were spending lots of time trying to figure out how content creators couldnt break the content they were putting out.... instead of investing that time into pushing for better units, pushing for better upgrades, taking more polls, actually listening to the polls. The issue is. Justin (I know this is a person you did get a lot of information from) never liked FFBE. He didnt care because it was an extra burden that was handed to him. That lack of concern was also a downfall because Justin believed that most people would flip over to WOTV anyways. That never materialized for them. Basically they were being given bad information from people that wanted their own agendas to be brought forward instead of listening to the actual community as a whole.
@@JJ-dm3lt I rarely go this route, but ... just look at the last video, at how uninvested Justin is. Literally zero sadness, unlike the others. He did a professional job compiling complaints like this very comment and pass it on to the devs, but ... otherwise, like you said, gave the vibe that "I am paid for WotV, not this Exvius thingy". A LOT of bad advice taken, to bring down this cash cow that is Exvius. I mean, look at the potential units not even released yet. Even the 2* king Clyde, i mean, just google his sprite. Such wasted ... potential, from an already 8yo game~!
@@Chengyuan79 I 1000% know Justin was a part of the reason of the downfall of the game. He never liked it. He felt inferior to someone else... which we wont get into that. easy to figure that one out.... So he never tried to even help the FFBE community. It was a job that he didnt sign up for. That was thrust on him. He treated it just like that. He even reported stuff back to help WOTV not FFBE. People need to remember two sides to every story. Just because you are getting one doesnt mean you are getting the full story.
It’s weird how the wording for the game was all present tense like the game still exists. None of it was in past tense. I thought that was interesting.
SINZAR please read! This isn't right....there are too many Global Original units created from this game to just disappear to be never seen again! Can we not entertain the O'Dea making a stand-alone Final Foantasy based off Fundamental Forces story arc?! Imagine this..... A stand alone console game based on traveling to different realities to battle evil of Dark Crystal. Story starts off with Esther and Elene battling Morgana and the orgin story of Richt and Elaine. They travel to medieval universe with Noppy, Ellespiris and Malphasie fighting Blood Mage Cyrus, Melissa and Yigi An Evil Triad simular to Flea, Slash and Ozzie from Chrono Trigger Another Universe you meet Yoshikiri and Ibara vs demonic Oni army in a Japanese style world Then go into the future and meet Louise, General Celeste, Abigail verses a techno army Then go into a different universe with Wylk and Reberta concerning his orgin story of Dragon people and discrimination because he's half human and half human Final Battle Esther and the few Non-fundamental forces that join the party and all the Fundamental Forces Characters combine to form ONE Fundamental Forces character for an ultimate battle against Elaine and Dark Crystal boss We need a game to honor all these unique, amazing units ! Could you please suggest this Sinzar?
A correction: Dah Sol did in fact leave at some point, I had it mixed up!
Hey Sinzar, quick question: Will you be doing anymore of JP contents, mainly trials? And will you cover the season 5 story when it come to JP?
Thanks for your time and effort doing this. Wish you all the best in future 👍

Finally sinzar upload video FFBE
RIP FFBE you got me through tough times 😢😢😢
Well i want to say again thank you for that journey that we followed together
I'm frustrated that i didn't even take time to finish the story which was great for all i did, but well...did most of it anyway.
Hey man, miss you and your work. Where can we keep up with you?!
Nice to see someone asked about FFTA, I dunno how long I hoarded for that specific banner before I gave up and went to a hiatus and unfortunately never accomplished a return. Thank you though for putting all the effort in resolving some questions. It was nice to catch up to all of what happened inbetween. Wish you all the best.
played this game from day 1. it was glorious!
Man I can't believe it's finally over, played since launch lost my first account then ended up making a new one right before the first Fan Festa in Los Angeles. Still remember my first CG unit too (Blossom Sage Sakura)
Was a member on the Brave Exvius forums before that was shut down, I had so much fun playing this game through highschool.
I loved this game even if it did have problems, also was hell being a sole F2P player sometimes lmao
1:14:00 man I'm kind of upset now with this knowledge, ah well hopefully one day Brave Exvius can return by either a fan made version or an official offline mode and or new game.
I added up all the money I spent on this game. I regret doing so.
I did that years ago, which lead me to stop spending alltogether (it was around the 7* era)
...did you also spent 2 good PCs in total?
Same here
I gave myself an ultimatum: either spend on the game or on drugs so i spend it on the game. ps i dont even do drugs but it made sense to me
Never Pay a game when you see the name gumi
Hey Sinzar, I think you underestimate how much people enjoy your videos, live streams, and overall content you put out. Maybe some short videos of the indie games or having a guest while streaming a game would give us some quality content.
Agreed, miss listening to him. Part of life for many years.
ty sinzar for all the video of ffbe i will miss this game
Thank for this Sinzar.
Most events seemed to be "throw something out there that takes them 10-40 hours to complete, call it a week" While half the units seemed like "sell them a new unit to lessen that grind by a few hours."
One last complaint is that the GL version was so stingy on the freebies from day 1.
Great to see a last video from you
Have an amazing life 😅
I’m still watching the whole video, but the CoV answer feels like such a cop out. People didn’t want it expanded instead of other content but in addition to what we were already getting (when we actually got new content). Saying those rewards could have been easily farmed in other events instead means they really didn’t get what we actually wanted there.
thank you for this sinzar 🤝
I emailed the support team of FFBE a month or so ago about adding the language packs to JP and they completely misunderstood what I was asking and they never answered.
@Sinzar You will forever regret not pulling A.I. Katy Perry for her Upgrade Package STMR! 😂
I figured they saved tactics characters mostly for the other FFBE wotc and released them late in the regualr game
Sinzar doing a better job than "community manager" Justin.
Hi there guys... I missed this
Thank you for sharing this
Hey Sinzar! Hope you're doing well.
Gérard idea ! Thank you Sinzar !

FF Brave Exvius
FF Record Keepers
FF Opera Omnia
FF Mobius
FF7 The First Soldier
Why did Square enix got rid of all their mobile live service games?
Live service ganes rarely last as long as FFBE. Look at the data/history/statistics of live service MOBILE games.
I really wished they had made a permanent offline version. I wonder if they were to take the story and make it the official FF XVII? That would be cool in my opinion but many may not like that idea.
I always wanted to know what happened with the source code of the game being leaked many years ago and if the person or people behind it still have it in their hands.
Honestly, with the amount of story/lore that is in this IP it really does seem like a massive waste to not make an actual JRPG for this game, imo.
Yeah but most of that story/lore kinda just... sucks, lol
@@FavaMamaaaaa Compared to 99% of the shlock that comes out nowadays I don't mind it.
@@FavaMamaaaaa Season 3 definitely. It was pure dumpster fire.
@@huynhvuongviet2410
That’s what turned me off to the story side of this game. Couldn’t even finish season 3. Season 1 and 2 were great though.
@@SeiyaSoiya-un4jj Man, I hate season 3 so much lol. When they reintroduced all of the characters from previous seasons, I was like "why were they there? They have no business being there."
Joe Bob from Gumi: Da fuq!?
Has anyone pointed out to you before that you remind them of
Hoe. Math? Its the diving deep into details and sounding / talking in the same way. Completely different topics of course but that doesn't matter.
You are as king
Should've had him on with a voice changer 🤣🤣
I was ready to move on... Then I heard your voice.
I think JP not making an English language pack is due to Legal Issues. Currently they only have to follow the Japanese Gacha Laws. If they opened up the game, and spending, to other countries they would need to adhere to local laws. Overall I think they have decided it isn't worth it.
Re:1999 JP server has english language available
Uwuuuuu... I havent finish farming dungeon shard yet 😂
My guess as to why they did not have a test server. would be cost
Probably... but considering test servers tend to be internal, or at least are easily made internal, it would be relatively inexpensive to set up a small mock environment for pre-live testing.
How to get Reddit layout like that?
replace www. with old. in the adress
That's just old reddit. You can change to it in the settings and I also 100% recommend downloading RES from the browser.
Love ya Sinz
They should save this game and keep the content they have until they rebuild
So Sinzar and content creators and listening to them instead of the actual polls of the entire community is the reason the game ended?
in that I mean they wanted to challenge the people at the top tier and became obsessed with it instead of focusing on all the rest of the player base.
SINZAR!!! :D
What I wanna know is why none of the developers ever wanted to talk to me.........
It’s weird how the wording for the game was all present tense like the game still exists. None of it was in past tense. I thought that was interesting.
With all the money i spent i coulve bought a car. Now its all wasted. Ffs..
They travel to medieval universe with Noppy, Ellespiris and Malphasie fighting Blood Mage Cyrus, Melissa and Yigi
An Evil Triad simular to Flea, Slash and Ozzie from Chrono Trigger
Another Universe you meet Yoshikiri and Ibara vs demonic Oni army in a Japanese style world
Then go into the future and meet Louise, General Celeste, Abigail verses a techno army
Then go into a different universe with Wylk and Reberta concerning his orgin story of Dragon people and discrimination because he's half human and half human
Final Battle Esther and the few Non-fundamental forces that join the party and all the Fundamental Forces Characters combine to form ONE Fundamental Forces character for an ultimate battle against Elaine and Dark Crystal boss
We need a game to honor all these unique, amazing units !
Could you please suggest this Sinzar?
Would this be Noppie's first time to shine?
First?
You should have asked. Why cant we play offline? And really dont care about the death of this game.
So which game is next for you?
