    Just seeing the amount of cars for camping you can tell they’ve oversold it

    • @Scumbagfred
      @Scumbagfred ปีที่แล้ว +3

      For sure they said they set up 11,800 campsites but then they also said this EARLY CAMPING CHECK- IN: Nearly
      80% of this year's record crowd of
      36,000 Campers have voiced that they plan to arrive on Wednesday. If you would like to skip the line and beat the crowd, we still have Tuesday Camping Check-In Passes available…… definitely oversold by a big margin

      Yeah, when all this started going wrong, they really tried to tell people that they only had something like 30,000 people there, but even the sheriffs department said that it was at least double that. In some ways, I think this is even worse than fire fast because at least with fire fest everyone knew that it was a scam as soon as they got there. These people out got there and it’s almost like they kept getting teas that things were going to get better but it just never got better. Like I think the Fyre festival you get there you realize that it’s a scam and then you leave. It might be a pain in the ass and you lost a lot of money but these people I feel like we’re abused for three days.

    That venue simply isn’t big enough to host a lineup of that magnitude. Much better suited to be held at the Indianapolis Speedway. Significantly bigger and actually near civilization.
    This site is legitimately in the middle of NOWHERE.

    • @FlatDerrick
      @FlatDerrick ปีที่แล้ว +1

      You are joking right? As festivals go that site looks ideal for the biggest of them. Close to civilisation doesn't matter a jot as long as there is suitable vehicle access from wherever the majority of people are coming, only really matters for small islands.

      @Juel13 ปีที่แล้ว

      Not gonna lie, I was playing "count the portapotties" while he was flying over. Looked like a handful for each massive nest of campsites. The ones near the stage would have been an okay amount for EACH nest of tents down there. Then I think I saw some blown over as well from the storm.

    The planning of this festival was probably very good in theory, but in practice it didn't work at all. Having parking and camping so far from the festival area is not good, any organizer should understand that. If you want to make it work, you have to have functioning logistics, and they had apparently forgotten that. It didn't work either backstage or on the festival grounds.

  • @adamcogan211
    @adamcogan211 ปีที่แล้ว +2

    They should be sued, nothing to do with the weather. They oversold and didn’t know how to manage a festival properly so it got shut down after crew and bands walked out. TankTheTech exposed all of it it a recent yt video.

  • @closer2theheart684
    @closer2theheart684 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    What exactly happened? I've been seeing concert goers posting online, and they are NOT happy. I know a storm came through and there seemed to be a ton of problems with organization, but why did they cancel? Did more storms come through or did the festival just cave in upon itself? Though I'm not into many of the bands that were scheduled, it was still a monster line up of performers for that festival. Shame it didn't work out.

    • @frankpritz6997
      @frankpritz6997 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      The organizers weren't, well, organized. There wasn't enough sanitary facilities, no plan to get the ones there cleaned out when they did get full. No proper trash removal, not enough water, and not enough staff to handle what they had to do. There wasn't nearly enough logistical support to move bands and equipment and there was no coordination and communication. I think the staff just up and walked because it was so messed up.

    You don't organise festivals like this. It's obvious some US festival organisers think that the people buying their tickets are the same idiots that went to Woodstock '99. That's why EU fest organisers are so pro at this. They know people are smart, that they are not to be fooled, that they notice, and that they remember all the bad shit... Fall from grace for the EU audience, and you will never recover. But in the US you can repeat until people are completely broken or until they go 'chop suey' 🫥
