I actually grow all of these. This is my first year of doing maypops though. I haven't had any yet but hoping to get a good harvest. My gojis are out of control, so I like to prune them and put the cuttings into pots to give away to friends or sell. I have 7 different varieties of figs and sadly only 1 peach tree. I am looking to get more peaches so perhaps I will stratify some of the pits from my fruit this year to start some more trees.
I have tropical passion fruits plants I bring them in in the fall they do well I get lots of flowers but the fruit doesn't stay? And I was wondering if you have any of the cold hardly passion fruits fall sale that you should in the video
@@randytravis5263 your time gets interrupted by the fall cycle...I live in zone 6, I have the cold hardy, buy them from a lady in Missouri.. 3rd year...First year nothing but vines, second year I got fruit but they fell off before ripe>>i kept for the seeds>>this will be my third year I hope to get fruit and it ripen before winter hits.
Thanks I kept forgetting which passiflora I wanted to buy. Searched one of my favorite nurseries and they had it in stock. A bit pricey but it's too late in the season to start from seeds.
The processes of turning elderberries into syrup actually kills most all the health benefits they have due to the high temperatures. Your videos are beautiful and calming as always. Thank you.
Beauty berries>>>fruit within 1-2 years>>> and ground cherries....ground cherries are super fast growers, you can have fruit withing a few months of planting...
Perhaps cold hardy is just a term to be used when something’s cold tolerant of your specific zone. Most fruiting plants are considered cold hardy at hardiness zone 5.
@@mumbairay They are rare in Europe as well. They are supposed to be native where I live but I've seen only a few very old almost dead trees. Most folks here have never seen one. It's tough to find them at nurseries as well

Is there a source for northern maypops?
Fig leaves are also edible, and they smell awesome. You can use the leaves in the same way grape leaves are used.

Sounds great! There’s almost nothing better than a ripe peach straight from the tree. Good luck!
Great job, as always 👍
That's a nice list. I'm just starting my passionfruit.

Awesome I will be getting one. What do you think of my passion fruit flowing but not holding any fruit I feed it and it's green green and beautiful

I've seen elderberry plants in my area, I didn't know they ate, only birds eat them.
Loquat grows fast and easy from seed, yet it does not flower or fruit as fast and abundant as the five you mentioned.
Loquat is a great option to grow from seed. There’s no such thing as a bad loquat. Haha

It would be helpful to have scientific names for each of your picks listed in the description
Only elderberries are actually cold hardy out of all of these. (3b)

Sorbus domestica
Love this tree. Such pretty autumnal leaves. I like the pear-shaped fruit better than the round.

@@cerverg interesting. I live in Europe and we have those grow wild in abundance. I am in Lithuania, it's more north.
