What's middle mouse? Probably won't apply to me as I'm playing on my Steam Deck. Bought it to play Half Life and Black Mesa as I'm a console gamer and had never been able to play them. Loved them. Just looking into playing mmod now, looks great.
I love this mod. It just Feels so good. Gunship Mark II is great at mods. Silenced weapons are quite strong and I love it. I just like shooting the displacer cannon, looks so cool. I do have One problem: the headcrabs... _he adds so many, especially at the beginning._ Or perhaps I just do not notice them all later in the game because I can just kill them quick.
Is it just me, or do you move even *faster* than in standard Half-Life in MMod? The looking straight up thing; Simple, you can't snap your neck 90 degrees backwards. Try it. You can't.
I bet accuately aiming a gun upwards above your head isn't as easy in real life as most video games make it seem like... You still need to aim through the sights, stabilize the sock on your body and try to balance your stance
@@HaraldQuake it's not that hard. Your shoulder takes care of the weight so your arms aren't as strained and you can stay on the sights for longer as a result. All you gotta worry about is aiming, which is usually your main concern if you're aiming at a target that's above you because it's probably something moving quick like a clay pidgeon or when duck hunting for example. Either that or it's a stationary target real high up and likely hard to see.
The only thing I don't like about this mod is that it adds tons of random headcrabs around corners and vortigaunts with no cover for the player. Oh and there's an area where it throws assassins + grunts + zombies + headcrabs + vorts + alien grunts + tripmines + explosive barrels + barnicles at you... what the actual hell was that section even. I thought this was meant to be the "Mmod", not "Overcharged"
I actually liked that area, most of the enemies were killed by other enemies and i just had to watch the chaos and kill off the few left, pretty fun imo.
I've seen dozens of HL mods and dozens of reskins, no one will ever fix the badly aligned flutes on the python cylinder. They will always be in the way of the cartridge chambers while in reality they should be in-between.
I am still doing a play through with MMod at the moment the extra enemies in questionable ethics and residue processing got on my nerves, but I think that’s more because I’m bad at half-life. My only real complaint is with the tau cannon. I don’t think the handle from its beta model should’ve been included. It makes it look kind of ugly now in my opinion, but that’s just me I guess.
The reason you cannot fully look down or up when your body is displayed is because what author did is to permanently display a second full character model at the same spot as you are and since living characters in the game cannot cross-through each other, it is basically in the way of your movement. The second problem is that your field of vision is slightly bellow where your eyes actually are. Let's just say FPS games do not know where your body is. Combat mechanics can only see where you are looking and if other NPCs have line of sight. You get damage in and close to your field of view instead of your whole body.
My God, this is good: the sounds are better, the new monsters are great - but, yeah, had to switch the legs off because not being able to look straight up inhibited my shooting of barnacles. This breathes a whole new lease of life into a very familiar game - I can see myself spending hours in here. I do hope Gunship_Mark_II works his or her magic on Blue Shift and Opposing Force too!
The biggest problem I have with the mod is that changing the difficulty is an absolute nightmare. I still haven't totally figured it out. The options you're prompted to choose from when selecting New Game are a bunch of bupkis, they do not change anything. You're supposed to change the difficulty from the MMod settings, but... those don't work either. No matter what you select, it always defaults to Medium once you load into the game, and changing the difficulty midgame doesn't work.
This is probably one of my favorite mods (with other amazing mods like HL:Echoes of course), everything looks super cool in this mod and for playing it, i must say that i enjoyed more playing this mod than the original game.
Now my question is, why HL2 Gordon doesn’t have legs???? And there is also no legs mod … also really don’t like that handle on tau cannon, but everything else is amazing
Mmod wouldn't let me load particular maps ... In fact when I would type "map *" into the console, it wouldn't even give me a list of Maps... Anyone have a solution?
I really enjoy this mod but I'm having this problem where when I pass a losing zone, the direction I'm moving or strafing in gets locked and is only fixed when I pause. It gets kinda annoying
Okay can anyone help me here, for some reasons a ton of textures are blurry and smeared looking. For example health and HEV stations and the first doors you enter Black Mesa through. anyway I can fix this?
I doubt you could get this to work with the raytracing mod. This seems to be mostly heavy modifications to the GoldSrc engine, while the raytracing mod is based off Xash3D, which is a completely different open source engine rewrite compatible with GoldSrc content.
Oof... I remember trying to get Blue Shift working with this a looong time ago and giving up because trying to fix all the sprites that broke was just too much of a pain in the ass to be worth it.

Yeah I especially don't get this guy saying combat was never HL1's strong suit (yes it is) and then showing a clip of MMod where literally the only difference between it and the original is the MP5's animations and the blood. Can combat really go from bad/average to good because the game is flashier? I don't want to be rude here but generally I think audiences just think more effects is better. Like if MMod had bloom, depth of field, eye adaptation, chromatic aberration etc these people would turn them all on and say it looks better automatically.
@@ImperialCaleb since when was combat Half Life's strong suit? it's the story and narrative that was it's main intended strong suit, the combat is actually pretty dated by 2000s standards also if you play the mod it's not just about flashiness, the guns are different
