- On hindsight, that 45k win clip I had way back in the early stages of the season wasn't all that special because of the way the showcases have been bloated up since...this, on the other hand, was a SPECTACULAR bid (and of course, she should have bid $1, but I digress).
Amy Beth lost Cover Up by listening to her friends instead of herself on the last digit (she was right, of course, 18364 on a Ford Focus, not -62), and she didn't fully understand what going over meant... about the only thing she really did right was bid on the car showcase. ;) - บันเทิง

First and foremost, Congratulations though to Kiziwanda. This was an awesome win.
This episode taped 3/31/10 and yes i was there...and it was awesome. I was so glad to see someone on the episode finally win big. I was also fearing a double overbid because I knew the girl who bid on the first showcase was way over.
(I'm in the 2nd row wearing a Grey jacket .......there's a lady with red hair and glasses in front of me...and she's sitting next to the "blue chairs" in the first row.......)
I know right?! The moment she bid that much on her package I knew she was done. Her car alone is probably just a little over $20,000 back then. My bid was 30,000. Of course the Porsche it’s a great car. But a lot of people don’t realize you got a pay taxes on these things before you can collect. And the taxes on that car have to be phenomenally outrageous.
That was a perfect bid right around the actual price of the showcase

This isn't Contestant's Row. Better to try and get close to the actual price of yours so you can win them both.

Finally, the Porsche win! Better than the other Porsche showcase, which was heartbreak.
Everyone said "no" to Amys bid. But I dont think clueless contestants should ever win. I wish they would play some of the classic car music.

Rich Fields mentioned the Cayenne S with 290 horses. Actually, this trim of Porsche has a 400 horsepower engine.

@WayoshiM: I had a rant about how the apparent V-6 Cayenne S was the third car plug incident in seven weeks, and that Kathy should never have let that happen after the earlier rants about the Taurus - and particularly with a Porsche during severe budget mode! But apparently the S version isn't this...
There would still be a case for a rant if this was the 2011 Cayenne, which has no 290-hp engine option. But since that probably won't be the case, apparently I've just shot myself in the foot.

There were people in the audience who were suggesting reasonable bids; but my part of the audience were yelling / suggesting $1 even going as far as to put the fingers up. LIke i said earlier, I KNEW the first person went way over and my fear was that Kiziwanda might have gone over slightly with her bid.
The first showcase features Hong Kong but why Shenzhen (in China, not Hong Kong) is also part of the Hong Kong vacation when most of the visit in the trip is in Shenzhen instead?
You had me convinced this was either a tie or a double-over with the title you put on it! I am so glad of the end result especially when the Amy said "Does that mean I'm done, I'm done." and wanted to walk off. Wow! Really?

That was maybe before they started putting in VW parts in them . Also this Porsche had the lower horsepower

That would be a total shock if / when she has soooooo much tax to pay on that car , here in Australia if you win something like that , it's yours , end of story LOL it would be a very sad to have to sell it just to pay the tax man..

Okay, instead...is this the 2010 or 2011 model? If this is the 2011 or the 2010 doesn't actually have this option combination, then my rant still holds valid. Otherwise, I've just destroyed myself...and looking back, I probably earned it.

I would NEVER Bid $1 on a showcase..... cause I know I thought others were way OVER, but weren’t. I would have probably made it a low bid on the Porsche like $30 or $40K, but definitely not a $1 Just in case.
Fiji? You'd think they'd not want to send contestants to a dictatorship (Hong Kong, too, but China is a different rant entirely). Sure, there are resorts, but outside of that it's not a happy place.
Then again, I shouldn't be surprised - people vacation in Burma.
