I too have a 73' Black Custom Fretless wonder. Frets were very worn down and replaced with standard frets. Also put a Dimarzio super distortion in the bridge.
1973 sounds a lot better than my 1974. but what a difference with the murphy. which do you prefer?
The 1974 may have different neck material, pickups, and the plate on the 12th flet. The pot serial number on my LP is 1973, and the specs are closer to the early 1970s. Murphy is a very well made reissue. I prefer the 70's.
@@yasuMETAL not sure 73 and 74 specs are any different. Although pickup wise its tough to know with gold patent nos which tear they were really from, earlier of course better. Production moved from kalamazoo to nashville in 75.
At least mine isnt too heavy for the period at 4.4kg.
