I’d love to see the differences of the Pick It line ups as fitted to the upper mid tier of Pro-Ject models at the factory.
I’d like to know how my Pick It Pro differs from the 2M Red & Blue. I know it has a lower output voltage of 4mV and a higher recommended tracking force, which must be due to a difference in cartridge windings, and possibly cantilever suspension. However knowing which of the 2M stylus would be compatible with the Pick It Pro body would be useful for the future.

from youtube auditions alone, I´m a fan of 2m blue. But, ... tonearms. It would be great if ortofon produced cartridges for rega turntables, like P1, P2... with similar tracking force and size as the carbon, so that we could just slide the carbon off and slide the 2m blue in. Rega turntables sell a lot because up to 1000 dollars at least, they have the best tonearms. They keep the stylus stable, without freeplay, though the grooves modulations of a record, allowing it to shine and retrieve every bit of information. P1 is probably the most awarded turntable probably in the budget segment, the i believe its tonearm is the key for their success.

I put a 2M Bronze styli on a 2M Red body, before I knew the 2M Bronze also had an upgraded body itself. In any case the stock Red styli was intolerable, with so much transient distortions & sibilance. The 2M Bronze styli immediately cured that problem.

@@dubs2171 It's a nice looking cartridge but, in my opinion, it is not particularly good sounding or good value. The Audio Technica AT-VM95 series allows you to start from a very cheap £30 cartridge and, through stylus upgrades, take it all the way up to a Shibata stylus. I have tried all of them apart from Shibata, from conical, to eliptical, to nude eliptical, to microlinear, and they all make a difference as you go up the range. While the ML is the best of what I tried, I now think the EN is the best value for money when it comes to sound per pound.:)

So when I have the red stylus I can just remove the red stylus and then go outside and buy not the entire blue cartridge but just the blue stylus from the blue cartridge and then I can set aside the red stylus from the red cartridge that I have on my system and just attach the blue stylus! Omg! But the interesting part is that if you want even better sound you can simply upgrade from the blue cartridge to a bronze cartridge not by swapping the blue stylus with the bronze one but instead by simply removing the entire blue cartridge and putting the bronze cartridge in its very place! What an earth shattering design!

I went from a red cart and stylus to placing a blue stylus on the red cart. I found this change to be a satisfactory enhancement. It is a practical and more economical progression. If you can, I would try this before making the leap to a bronze. I am using an AT LP 7. I always prefer a nude stylus over a bonded one, but within my price range. Frankly, again, I have no problem with the blue. My turn table is super quiet and smooth and marries well with this combination. You can always consult with an expert to find what sound you are looking for, what equipment you already have and what music you most often listen to on vinyl. I like a sound that is detailed, open, on the bright side, but not brittle. I listen to some rock, blues and jazz. I use a Zen ifi pre amp.
      Best of luck to you!

The gentleman states you can swap a blue in place of a red and a black in place of a bronze. But is it physically possible to put a black or bronze stylus on a red/blue body? Or it is not compatible physically or electrically?
Yes, the stylus is the costly part. Wasn't it the opposite in the good 'ole days of Pickering, Shure, Stanton, etc. ?
My friend upgraded to the blue and gave me the red stylus, so I need to get a cartridge for a red/blue stylus. Or just get the blue cartridge and stylus and keep the red stylus as a spare.

i understand you make high end equipment, and put a lot of effort into the materials development, and all that.
but, the amount of rubber used per-item must be very minute. why can't you just use the same very good rubber on all the cartridges? this would seemingly add very little price to even the red one.
because even a full size tire with very high quality rubber vs a cheap tire would have less of a price difference than you have going from blue to bronze or whichever one has the better rubber, and tires use a crap ton of rubber per tire. here, we're talking a pea-size amount of rubber. anyway, also, you suggest not going out and buying another housing when upgrading. well, that sounds like the smart thing to do, until you realize that these are only $10-20 cheaper without the housings. When you're paying $200-600, you may as well get the entire thing if the price difference for just the stylus vs the entire cartridge is only $10 cheaper. an example: the blue one on amazon is $204 for the whole thing, $196 for the stylus alone (the blue part). i believe the black one comes at $589 vs $600, so..... i mean...
