Quinn, you made me read the Three-Body Problem trilogy! I'm about to start The Redemption of Time. And now you've made me discover this extremely talented artist, Jamez Dahl!!! Thank you both, guys. You bring me terror and nightmares, which is awesome loll.
@@askani21 Finished Redemption in one sitting, cant remember the last time I did that but I just couldnt stay away from the material. It starts to feel like fan fiction toward the end but still good.
19:49 "Now it's the moment, when what is left of humanity cuts the umbilical cord from mother Earth. The dark, unforgiven and yet full of possibilities space, it's all we can dream, the 'Last Journey' begins"
7:33 "And just like that the whole space force from Earth was destroyed by the Trisolarian droplet. The simplest of strategies smashed the ingenuity of mankind." Goosebumps all over, every time. XD
I love the change at 8:40 where it switches to the dark forest. Only occasional completely random sounds that you cannot make any sense of, like you’re hearing the background ambiance of the dark forest. Not knowing what is out there. But then the horn comes in and the sudden realisation hits you of the terrifying nature of the dark forest universe - huge unimaginable predators listening in for any signs of life

Thank you for creating this, it's like the trilogy turned into music - simply epic. If netflix ever made "Remembrance Of Earth's Past" into series, You should be the one making the soundtrack.
@@JamezDahlMusicthis is just WOW! I write trailer music and I have collected 15 analogue synths and your sound design and writing is exceptional, suits the material so well. The end of Three Body Problem where I moves to the epic piece, made the hairs on the back of my neck stand on end. Hats of to you sir. Take a bow, and hold it for approx 400 years 😉
Your work for "Quinn's Ideas" has been truly impressive. To me, your music is as vital to "Quinn's Ideas" and John Williams was to Steven Speilberg's body of work! You two are an awesome team! I'd welcome the opportunity to collaborate with you gents! Congrats on your wedding! :)
This is really great! The first 5 mins. is some of the best sound crafting I've heard in quite a while. Think it's a moog tone ??? Well done Jamez Dahl... and Quinn too. Beautiful stuff.
This masterpiece you’ve created perfectly encapsulates the feelings of isolation and cosmic dread that I get from the three body problem. Even falling asleep to this makes me feel like I’m being transported into the world. Great stuff man, keep it up!
I've been enjoying the very, very distinctive and ethereal backing soundtrack of Quinn's Ideas video posts on Dune and Three Body Problem trilogy - you've really nailed the creepy, "vast space" and "deep time" mood and energy. Glad that the TH-cam algorithm popped this up to the top of my feed!
I've finished the trilogy, but I keep coming back to this. It's so damn atmospheric. Especially Death's end, it feels like a mushroom trip through dimensions.
Glad you enjoyed this! If you do end up with new headphones, I remastered this album and put it on Spotify/Amazon/iTunes etc! I recommend listening to the updated version!
I just finished this monster of novels.. I hope Liu is just a big imaginer and not from a microverse.. But my mindset was been reformed by these novels.

You shouldnt be surprised, thats how humans live here, right now. Most people are like "earth" in 3 Body Problem, and minority people are like San-Ti. They know how the world works. It is malicious. 95% of people never notice, because of the work of remaining 5%. You would all be dead if not for constant fight of strategists, intelligence agencies, military and elite hidden bureaucrats pulling the strings. Hey man, just finished reading the trilogy thanks to Quinn, and found your music via him. This is really, really well done, and I revisited my favourite parts of the series with your music playing.. really a very enjoyable experience. Thank you!
I prefer to call it The Dark Forest Series As that is the concept that captured my imagination and absolute cosmic horror Edit: also this music is fantastic... it perfectly captures the atmosphere of the books. Hard SciFi dread and mystery.
First time listening to this, only several minutes in, and I’m already blown away. It’s always been a dream of mine to create my own half-horror, half-science fiction film. I listened to this like 10x in row yesterday while doing errands and mentally processing my acceptance of an official offer for a sw engineering job that I have worked very hard for. This is astounding. I just picked up the series and finished the first book, and that flared up ending to your first composition perfectly matches the feelings the last few chapters left me with. I very much look forward to seeing how the tone of the other two pieces lines up with their book counterparts.
That's to quin I found this series and just started to read book 1 , and in 2 days I've gotten thru half of the book. Thank you too, this music fits well in the background, as I uncover the mysteries of the three body problem
